To the CM's on the board: what is the one "tip" you can give us?

2. If you sit on the stone ledge outside of Cinderella Castle and are quiet, you can hear Stitch giggle and tell you to be quiet because he is hiding.

I've never heard this but just love it! What area of the stone ledge do we need to try this from? We got back from our 1st trip about a month ago, so I'm having trouble figuring out where to try this next time.

4. Try to visit the candy lady in Japan. She hand-makes candy and it is a neat little show. Plus, she gives the candy away for free to a child.

JennaDeeDooDah - you have some great advice, some I've never heard before. (which is something, really!) However, Miyuki, the Candy Lady, no longer gives out the candy animals she makes to the children - I don't believe it was her, but Disney/FDA forced her to stop. You child can still suggest an animal that she can make and get your picture taken with it, but can't take it home. It is still a great experience and well worth the time. If you have a child that wants to be picked, show up at the booth about 5-10 minutes before showtime and get a spot front and center. She usually picks from the center and goes left/right from there. (Yup, we've seen her a bunch of times in case no-one has guessed.)

:thumbsup2

It took me 2 days to read it, but it was well worth it. popcorn::

I was fortunate enough to be able to pass on some of that Disney magic a few years ago. My family ended up with an extra park hopper pass, so we found someone standing in line to buy a ticket at EPCOT and gave it to her. She seemed skeptical, and kept an eye on us until after she made it through the turnstile, just in case it wasn't legit. It was a great feeling to see the smile on her face once she was through the gate!

:tink: I wanted to also thank all the CMs for everything they do. Without you, the experience would not be the same!

I'm going back in a few weeks and taking my boyfriend for his first trip to MK, EC, and DHS. I'll be using some of the tips I found here to make his visit a little more magical. Thanks to everyone who pitched in!

3. There is a fantastic walking tour of Morocco that talks all about their history. It doesn't seem to be well advertised, but it is there and certainly worth checking out.

.
I asked about it when I was there in March and the CMs told me that tour hasn't been done in a long time.

This isn't really a "tip", but it was something special that happened to me.

When I was 16 (or so) my dad, (then) step-mom and two step-brothers took a trip to Disney World. My step-mom wasn't really a good "team" player, so we mostly did what my youngest step-brother wanted to do. I was feeling kinda left-out, and a little grumpy as we were walking around Cinderella Castle, around the garden. Anyway, Chip and Dale are my most favorite characters, and my step-mom had just pulled us out of a line to meet them (but we stood in every line younger SB wanted to. . .I'm not bitter.:rolleyes1 ), so I was really not feeling the Disney spirit. Well, out of nowhere, Chip comes up and grabs my hand and leads me to a rose bush -- there was no one else around -- and he picked a pink rose off the bush and handed it to me.

I just love Disney. :lovestruc

Sit on the ledge on the right side of the castle nearest Tomorrowland.

Well that's too bad. I bet it is still fun, though. Darn the FDA!

After reading about the cast member saying that Ariel got around, as well as reading the post about loving Belle and Snow White, I wanted to share my story. Back when I was in the college program, I had a friend who had the same job as me. The man was absolutely smitten with Snow White. All he had to do was see her and he would blush and smile and get so tongue-tied. It was adorable. Plus, Snow White knew it. Now, being a huge fan of the characters myself, my coworker and I always seemed to have a break right at parade time. No clue how this always seemed to happen ;). In any case, When he would be backstage, she would be so sweet to him. She would tell him how sweet he was and how he reminded him of her prince. She would even give him a little kiss on the cheek. This was all backstage where no guests could even see.

Also, about Snow White. At the Studios, every Sunday and Wednesday (I believe), there would be a sign language interpreter for the Disney Stars and Motor Cars parade that would stand outside of ABC Theater. If someone was deaf, they could sit here and he/she would sign what Stone Granite and Gabrielle Huntington were saying. Snow White wanted to be able to communicate with these people, as well, so she went and took a sign language class. Every Sunday and Wednesday, she would ride past these guests and compliment a girl on her dress, tell a guest she loved their hat, says she wished she could get some Minnie Mouse ears like a child had, etc. The children's faces would light up when they saw that Snow White was able to communicate with them. I would tear up every time I saw this.

THIS just gave me the goosebumps!!! How sweet!!!!!!! :flower3:

JennaDeeDooDah ,it sounds like you may have been one of the CM's that made everyones trip a little more "Magic". Thank you for that:flower3:
I am also taking notes of all your tips!

4. Take advantage of First Aid if you need it! I never see enough people who use it, nor even know about it. They're wonderful and can help you with any issues, or direct you for where to go for more advanced help!

This is such a good tip. Both of my daughters wear glasses, and on our 2nd or 3rd day my oldest lost a nosepiece on hers. We searched the shops, but could not find a glasses repair kit, and while we had screws and little screwdrivers for the arms if anything happened, I had failed to plan for the one thing that went wrong. We had flown and relied on Disney transportation, and we're from the west coast so I was stressing about having to leave the Disney area to find a Walgreen's or something. We stopped by the First Aid station on the off chance that they might be able to help. They didn't have nosepieces, but the lady at the front desk gave me a great idea. She pulled out some dental wax for braces from a drawer and fashioned a little round cushion and slipped it over the metal piece on the glasses. Since dental wax is meant to be in the mouth it didn't melt or get misshapen at all over the course of the day. Both of my daughters also have braces, so we were able to use that trick for the rest of the trip and got her a replacement when we got home.

So no matter how diligently you plan for all contingencies, something will come up that you didn't expect. Thankfully Disney has plenty of people who can help with just about anything.

One thing we always do is to take a picture of our parking spot each time. That way if we forget, we can scroll through our pics to remind us at the end of a long day.

I'm really trying to stretch my brain and imagine what they would have done with the photo that you should be worried about.

I'm not at all saying there was an over-reaction here. But, I guess I'm just too small town/sheltered to be able to know what creeps out there might be doing. I really cannot figure out what there is to worry about.

PLEASE enlighten me...

Thank you!

Actually, I've heard of people finding pictures of their children on foreign adoption websites as part of some kind of scam.

I *just* in the past few months read a story about a girl that was killed at my college- she was our Student Body President and her picture had appeared on a billboard somewhere overseas selling some kind of product.

Then again, there are perverts. I would have flipped out too if someone I didn't know was taking pictures of my child.

One of the most disgusting things I ever read about was the fact that pedophiles gather pictures of children on the web and take bits and pieces of their face etc. and put them together to make a cyber child that they can then use for their purposes and it is legal because it is not a 'real' child. Boggles the mind!:headache:

Slightly Goofy, who loves children in a good way

These are more like fun facts rather than tips, but here are a couple:

1. Be sure to check out Walt Disney's window on Main St. USA. It's located above the ice cream parlor looking out to Cinderella Castle.

2. In Pirates of the Caribbean, take a look at the beach scene with the skeleton pirates. See that skeleton laying down on the beach with a raggy looking brown shirt? That's a ripped up Jungle Cruise costume shirt.
