To stroller or not to stroller??

Forget the kids. I like using a stroller to cart around all the souvenirs and other junk.

So you had to plan not only what rides you were doing in what order, but you also had to take breaks, and repack your park bag in order to go stroller free. Sounds like a lot of hassle to me! And you still ended up carrying your little one a few times. I'd much rather have a stroller along and be free to plan the day around what we wanted to do, not around the lack of a stroller.

I guess I don't see why going without a stroller is something to be excited about.:confused3

+1

last time we went our son was 4.5, for us the stroller was great...while other kids and parents were fussing, getting smacked and hollered at and melting down because they were all so tired and cranky we were a happy family at the end of the day becaue we didnt have to carry him and he was not overtired from walking around in the heat all day

Plus as others have mentioned it is nice to have a place to put stuff. Now that we have a 1 yo who will be 19 months when we go we got a peg perego umbrella stroller that has a bottom compartment for storage as well as a place for our older son to stand on the back when he needs/wants a ride...if he can stomach being in contact with a pink stroller :P

I personally would not even consider not having a stroller for anyone under 6.

I agree with the PP that I'd bring it just for carrying all our stuff !!

we are going soon with a 4,6 & 8 yr old. I'm sure even the oldest will want to jump in at some point! But more importantly I need it for the bags/sweatshirts.

We are going in January and the weather is so unpredictable. Last time in Jan we went from shorts/tanks to sweatshirts/jeans in just a few days. Even though we'll be onsite we will still have to wear layers - and I'm not missing time in the parks to jump on a bus back to our resort and I'm certainly NOT going to buy 3 sweatshirts at WDW!! (been there, done that! $$$)

We also always bring a small snack bag with juice or water.it gets heavy... And still travel with babywipes for everything even though they are out of diapers for years..

I would not recommend renting from WDW. Besides the insane costs ($13 a day at best) its not helpful for after you leave the parks. If the kids fall asleep on the monorail or bus you might have to carry your kids to the room from the bus and that could be a hike! If you have one all the time you can at least push them home

Unless your kids are used to walking 5+ (we did 9 -10mi a day) miles a day for several days in a row You will need a stroller!
I would rent a double stroller and have my children take turns. Its also nice to have a place for bags, rain ponchos, drinks ect...
