Here's the deal. This is probably gonna be a once-in-a-lifetime trip to WDW for my son (7) and I. We'll be going from October 28th-November 11th.
I know we want to stay at POFQ for sure. However, we're from Hawaii and the airfare prices have got me wondering if a split stay would be an option for us to cut costs.
I was wondering what your thoughts are on a split stay between a Mod and a Value. I'd probably do the Value resort for the first week and change to POFQ for the last week.
Son and I are used to living out of a suitcase, so I don't anticipate having problems changing rooms in the middle of our stay. I guess my issue is with staying at a value. I'd need to add the cost of a fridge for medications and I'm just really unsure if we'd like the larger-than-life themes of the values. If my numbers are correct, I'd save around $500 with the split stay.
Any insights? And which value would you recommend?
TIA

. Also my fiance and I love doing split stays because it makes it seem like two different vacations. I think it is always best to start with the value resort and then end with the moderate or deluxe. Doing it in reverse leaves you open to a possible disappointment. And as long as you don't mind packing up and moving in the middle of your trip, a split stay is a good opportunity to experience two very different Disney resorts. I haven't stayed at any of the value resorts yet, but some of my family stayed at Pop Century and loved it. Good luck in your decisions.
