To ring, or not to ring, the big bell?

When you all are in Liberty Square in the Magic Kingdom, do you ring the Liberty Bell replica there or no?

I always do. I just try to tap the edge with the mallot ever so softly and...
"BBBAAAANNNGGGGG!!!!!"

Lol, it's almost a tradition for me. Am I the only one?

I've never rang it....for some reason I never thought of it. We did pose for some funny pictures there, that was fun :)

I've never rung it. Never knew you could. Bet we do next week. :sunny:

I'm a ringer!!!
Just a light little tap for good luck and a little extra pixie dust on our vacation!

:goodvibes

Never rang it before but I'll plan on it next time thanks to you!

I feel so sorry for the poor lady who works at the popcorn stand not 20 ft from there... and it's all my fault...

:lmao:

technically you're not supposed to... I got reprimanded by a CM for going even near the thing.

So you're the one :headache:

Oogieboogie I think you got a cranky CM...When I worked at the riverboat we would count how many times in a day it was rung...followed by happy thoughts of course...but honestly, I would be one of the ones that would ring it too... If everyone around there didn't know me :teeth:

YESSSSSSSSSSS!!!! :teeth: Another "secret" that I can amaze and Show my DW along with DS and DD just how "Mature" their DD can be at Disney :thumbsup2 . Don't worry Sonno I won't reveal my source. :lmao: :rotfl2: Oh won't they be SOOOOOOO impresed :rolleyes1
:teeth: KOOOOONNNNGGGGGGGGGG :teeth:
CAN'T WAIT!!!!!!!!

just don't be like that guy who came to philly several years ago and attacked the real one...with a hammer, i think it was. don't think disney would like that! :rotfl:

What have I started here? MM is gonna be at my door and he is gonna be pissed!

I read about a family who went on the Family Magic Tour and at the end while Peter Pan was walking with everyone to ride an attraction, he loudly rang the bell then announced, "Johnny did it!"

We have watched people do it before and some look like they are breaking all the Disney rules. They sneak up on it, ring it, then take off like someone is after them. They must have a really guilty conscience.

I'll be sure to apologize for you. :smooth:

I never did, but I remember my roomate during my College Program in 2002 doing so when we were there. I am not sure, but I think he reached up inside it and it had a medal ringer in it.

I'm another one who got reprimanded for doing so...my nephews and niece always got such a kick out of ringing the bell until the big mean CM followed me half-way through Frontierland to chastise me!!! :confused3 Talk about putting a damper on our pixie dust!!

We will forever hold the Liberty Bell in our hearts since no one dares touch it any more with our hands! :)
