WDW Vet, DL Newbie.
First trip to DL coming up mid Sept. According to all of the crowd meters/predictors the days we will be visiting should have fairly low park attendance.
So I am a bit tormented. As I don't know the parks that well, it is hard for me to judge how much (ride/attraction wise) we will get through by dinner time. Part of me wants to reserve for the Blue Bayou since that is a unique experience to DL. But on the other hand, if lines are longer than anticipated, I am worried that a Dinner resi might take up too much time in our day. I know at WDW Dinner/Show/Parade times are often a great time to get A LOT of riding done since folks are eating and watching the shows.

I would make the reservation for Blue Bayou. Even on light days, that one can fill up. You always have the option of cancelling the day before. I think of table service dinners as a planned break.

You also need to consider the need for a sit down break. I would make the rezzies, enjoy the meal and recharge for the rest of the days activities.

I like doing lunch in the TS restaurants. The meals are more cost effective and a proper size for me. It also allows me to walk off the fullness that tends to happen.

I'd make the ressies and enjoy the experience. On our 4 day trips we usually have a ressie for a sit down meal every other day. One is lunch and one is dinner. For us thats the perfect amount.
