To Reserve or not Reserve...

Hey Guys,

I love planning for Disney but also not planning to a certain extent . Im going for a week in May and know where I want to eat but not when I want to eat at those places.

This poses a problem because I have heard that alot of these restaraunts are hard to get into unless a reservation is made. Is this true? Cause I dont really want to plan what parks I go to around the restaraunts I'm going to want to be eating at.

P.S. Im on the Dining plan so eating is a big part of the trip!!!

If you have places you really want to try then I'd recommend you bit the bullet and plan. Particularly with your dining plan, you'll want to be sure to get in to the sit-down restaurants you're paying for.

I am not familiar with the specifics of the plan, but even planning just one sit-down per day leaves you with a lot of flexibility for spur of the moment tastes or park changes.

I always plan one sit-down per day. Some are of each meal over the whole visit. Then I know I'll get shade and air when I need it. It also helps to know where we'll be for at least part of each day.

Not sure when you're going, but with the 50th celebration at the beginning of May, it seems that it might be more busy than usual all month long.....probably also depends on where you want to eat. I'd make a PS for the sit-down meals I wanted to do, you can always change them later.

Make a few reservations for each night you are unsure of your whereabouts giving you security and flexibility. That way, when you are there, and know your plans more definitively, you can call and cancel the one you do not want to use. Leaving it for someone else to pick up.

This works for us. And you never go without a place to eat. Unless you want to.
