OK, I knwo that there are varied opinions on this topic :teeth:and there have been several threads about this  BUT I was just wondering if anyone who has visited recently (last 2 months) could tell me if you made room requests and did you call or fax or put them in your original reservation? Did it work or not? There has been discussion on the use of faxes etc. by CMs when assining rooms....and wanted to know if you think that this practice has or is changing???? :confused3 We will be at the POLY in June in a Garden View room. THANKS

I put the request in when I booked the ressie for our CR standard wing room. I requested North wing 1st floor and I got North wing 2nd floor but got a free upgrade to water view (I think! Our room overlooked the middle courtyard and the lake so I guess that is water view? it was nice). We were very close to the FFC for fast meals and refillable mugs that was great.

For our AKL ressie 2 years ago (standard room) I requested "best view possible" and a balcony (I think I read some standard rooms there didn't have balconies) and was upgraded to savannah view without asking.

For our CSR ressie for an upcoming trip I've asked for a certain building and 1st floor. I'd really like that building so if I don't get it at check-in I might ask depending on where the room is.

I suggest putting in the thing you want most within the parameters of the room you booked. I think if you get too specific you could be disappointed! I've always been happy so far with the room we've gotten.

I give my requests to the CRO when I book our room. I usually get close to what I request. I don't think they are looking at faxes anymore.

We usually request, but I can't figure out what to request for Poly this Mem.Day weekend! I look at tikiman's site adn get overwhelmed (and excited!)

Any ideas? I want not ground floor, close to GCH and have garden view. Would like the ones with 2 sinks if it's close to GCH. Would LOVE the ones that actually have a lagoon or MK peak, but our still technically Garden View!

Please help!
TIA

MinnieM3.....We have stayed in the Tokelau Longhouse and loved it! We were on the quiet pool side about in the middle of the bldg. We could look out the side of our balcony and see the castle and the fireworks. I would like to request the same longhouse just a little clser to the end closest to the lagoon. I did request that to the CM, who put that in our reservation, I hope :confused3 !!!! I guess we wiil just have to see.

Thanks to everyone who shared their experience/advice....anyone else care to share???

I ask the CM to note the requests on my ressie, then I ask again at check in, before they assign the room. Hope you get what you want!

Oh Thank you! Tokelau sounds great! We are checking in late this time (8pm), so I'll cross my fingers, but realize we may not get it!

WHat is tikiman's site??

I booked us into the POFQ in Sept. I had read a post about them not excepting fazes anymore. So I asked the CM when I booked the room. She told me something very interesting.....She said to make your request when you book the room. She also said if I requested a room let say in a certain building and asked for a certain room or view. And you made your ressies the next day for the same thing I did. She said that who ever booked their request first is more likely to get their request. Now this was when you make your original ressies. Not a fax. She also said that each resort decides wether they will take a fax request but she said most won't because it is a nightmare with all the paper and all the phone calls they receive. Now take this as you want. I know that you can get alot of differant info from CRO. But I thought I would let you know what I found out in case you are booking a new trip to make your request then.
