I have a great rate at the Boardwalk for this October. My DW is having surgery this Monday and I'm afraid she won't be 100% by then. She says, "It's FOUR months, I'll be fine."

Would pay it now and then cancel later if needed?

She's having a Ruen-y (Gastric Bypass)

If you have a great fate, go for it! It can either be cancelled:( or you can rent a scooter for her, if that would help. Best wishes for her surgery.

it depends on what kind of surgery. I know people who has all kinds of surgery and up and better in 2 months. Talk to her doctor and in the meantime book. You can always cancel later. Good deals don't last long.

Sure, fully agree with Michelle above. And my best wishes for your wife, and full, comfortable recovery.

I'd keep the great rate and cancel later...exactly what I have done for my hopeful vacation in June...got a fantastic rate but wasn't sure I could go....I'm about 99% I can't go but I'm holding on to the ressie until the last minute just to be sure...

I'd just double check the cancellation policy and then book it! Hopefully your wife will have a quick and easy recovery. :)

My mother had this surgery last sep. and 4 months later she was better, but definitely not enough to do to Disney.
Of course she was 60 when she had the surgery done, so maybe your wife will feel up to it after 4 months. As everyone has already stated, you could book and than cancel later if need be.

Best wishes to your wife.

Mind sharing how you got a deal/rate for October? I haven't seen anything out there past July.

I worked with a woman who had it done at 55. She was back at work in 3 weeks. It was done laparascopically. That's not saying that at 3 weeks she would have been riding thrill rides but at 4 months out she could have. Eating would have been limited though.

A friend of mine had GP a few years ago (she was in her early 40s at the time). She was back at work in two weeks, and I would have bet she could have handled a WDW trip by two months after the procedure. Best of luck with everything:D

DW is 34 and her's will be laproscopic.

5 + 2 package, Boardwalk, Garden View King, Ultimate Park Hoppers, 2 adults, etc. $2400.00. The same package was over $3000 (without the 5 + 2) through the Disney site. I booked through DreamsUnlimited.

I had the same surgery 3 years ago. Barring any unforseen complications which can come with ANY surgery, she'll be fine. Four months after my surgery I got married!! Keep the ressies and have fun. She'll enjoy it more because she'll be able to do more. Celebrate her new life

Does the entire thing have to be paid for or just a deposit. Can you get the entire amount back or is there a cancel fee? DO you have the money NOW to do it? These are things that really come into play for me.

The biggest one for me is if it is fully refundable. If it is and you have the money do to it now, go for it. If there is any type of cancel fee, I wouldn't risk that.

most folks here know by now i am a modern day frankie when it comes to surgery,, am in or more than not,, but i had made ressies,, booked deposited and made a payment towards back in april before my surgeries started takinglongedr than expected.. we ended up cancelling due to us needing the csh more than the ressies and that my drs wont be throiugh by then,, but was definately something that kept me going as long as i could, i just kept thinking i gotta be well by july ,,lol,, and was startigto get there, but i digress.. make the ressiwes,, and then trust god to get you and dw there and able to enjoy them:)

I would go ahead and book it. I had a hysterectomy, last August 22 and went to WDW the first week in December. I had an incision about 10 inches long across the lower part of my stomach and I was fine. Good luck to your wife and have a great trip! :D

I believe on packages you can cancel up to 45 days before and get a full refund. I would hold onto it and decided then.

Be optomistic!! At least keep it until you HAVE to cancel..Maybe having that to look forward to will speed up the recovery! God bless you and best wishes for a safe operation!!::yes::
