To Hoop Dee Doo or not to do??

Am I crazy for not really wanting to do HDDR while we are there on our 1st trip May 2006? At 1st I thought it sounded ok, but my son will be 4 and I was thinking for the price I would pay for the 3 of us, I could do a couple character meals for him instead. (If I understand correctly, there aren't any "cartoon characters" at HDDR, right?) We are planning to do Crystal Palace and Chef Mickey already. Maybe DH and I are a little different in that we don't think it would be a "must do" for us? Just wondering if I will be depriving my family if we choose to skip it.

No--no cartoon characters at HDDR. But it is an entertaininhg and "lively" show and the times we've gone there have been kids that age.
My opinion is that you won't be depriving the family out of a "must do" situation if you do the character meals instead. HDDR is a "nice to do" show, but Chef Mickey and Crystal Palace are worthy alternatives and it sounds as tho your 4 year old would enjoy himself more there.

Don't stress about it...especially on your first trip, you'll have plenty to do! Hoop-de-Doo is wonderful, but I don't think it will be going away anytime soon.... Enjoy yourselves and save something for future trips!
