I think this is common for most weddings where on request the caterers will box up meals for the bride and groom to enjoy later once the excitement has settled a little. I hear so many stories of brides and groom that have to go scrounging for food post-reception because they were too busy or too excited to eat. Does Disney do this?

Yes, they did this for me. I had a major migraine by the time I got to the reception and couldn't eat. My DH asked the waiter to make me a to go box because I wasn't feeling well and he got right to it. I got a ton of food, it was more than enough for both me and my DH later that night.

He even put two coffee cups together of the cheddar cheese soup and put lids on them and then brought it all out in a cardboard box along with the styrofoam to go box. They were so helpful, we were treated wonderfully! They even brought me out a rag with ice in it for my neck when I got particularly ill.

Wow, that was so nice of them!! I'm sorry that you weren't feeling well on your wedding day. Do you think it was caused by the stress of the day?

No I don't think it was because of stress, I wasn't feeling well the night before and I think it just rolled over to te wedding day. The adrenaline before the ceremony kept the headache at bay but once the ceremony was over it hit full force. Thank goodness we were staying at the Beach Club where Ariels is because my mom ran upstairs and was back with migraine pills so about halfway through I felt so much better. It really didn't ruin my day at all bc I get migraines so often I'm used to them.

I think I was more upset that I was missing out on the food but they packed up some for later and I was happy.

Yesterday at my food tasting, the chef told me that they won't box up food because they can't guarantee that it will still be good by the time we would eat us and he didn't want to chance us getting sick (which makes sense). Our planner said that she would make sure we got time to eat during the wedding.

hmmm... nice thought, except what do they tell all the people who take home leftovers from restaurants????

I guess it's because it would be close to 4 hours later and I don't think there's a fridge in the room

I guess that makes sense. We're only doing 3 hours of reception with food being served after the 1st hour so hopefully they won't have a problem with that.
