To get the dining plan...

...is it based on the # of days you have your room, or the # of day park ticket you have? Just curious, as we're not getting park tickets for the entire length of our vacation yet we are staying on-site the whole time. I forgot which one it relates to.

It is based on the number of NIGHTS (not days) you stay at your resort.

Park tickets are completely irrelevant, except that you must buy them if you want DDP with a MYW package. DVC members and annual passholders purchasing an AP package do not need to buy tickets at all.

Okay thanks. I know it's nights, not days, but I think of that in terms of days. LOL

So I do have a question then- this time we'll be getting to our resort probably around 2am. Does that mean we'd have to be paying for the dining plan for the entire previous day even though we weren't there? Or how will that work? (I haven't booked our room yet- we've never come in at any time other than afternoon so this is new to us)

If you stay, for example, 5 nights in the resort, then you will receive credits for 5 nights, regardless of your check-in time.

The problem you are having is that you are still thinking in terms of days in the resort, not nights. You don't receive credits for the first day. You receive them for the first NIGHT but you can use them on any day for the duration of your trip.

Oh that's true- I totally forgot about them being used whenever- which actually benefits our situation. Duh.
