To get an HD-video camcorder or not? Need help, here

I don't want to spend that much time rendering. I'm going to wait for the PCs and software to catch up a little more before I take the leap. Obviously, by waiting the camcorders will only get better and cheaper. I would need a very special event to want to do it now.

I take more digital pictures than video. I have an 8 megapixel camera and I'm very satisfied with how my slideshows look on a 50" TV screen.

I like the discussion here; because, you expanded on a lot of territory about HD video.

The choice is always a tough one. There isn't a right or wrong choice. It's just what is best for you. Waiting for rendering is a tough game. I queue it up for the evening and let it chug away while I am sleeping.

The good thing about technology is, it's fast... Faster will be here soon. Once you shoot your first HD video, there won't be anything stopping you. It's like going from a tiny cheap digital still camera to a 10megapixel digital cam. But then again, the best HD cam available (for the average person) is only 2megapixels. There are now 32 megapixel chips being built. Just imagine what Super-Extra-Ultra-High Definition will look like.

By the way, I am going to copywrite that name for the future... It may be worth some bucks.... that equals MORE TRIPS TO DISNEY!!!!!!
