To food-finity and beyond! Attention Star Command, dining reviews/photos ahead!

Coming down from our sugar high left us hungry for dinner...so we took the boat downtown to eat at Wolfgang Pucks. Now we have eaten here before but weren't overly impressed but we were willing to try it again. The Little Green men joined us for this meal. When we got there a line of about 25 was in front of us but it went very quickly and we soon had ordered and were at a table waiting for our food.

Jesse ordered the kids cheese pizza and a brownie:

Green man grandma ordered veggie pizza and creme brule:

Wheezy ordered pepperoni pizza and frozen yogurt (didn't get a pic. he ate it too fast):

I ordered the meatball pizza and creme brule. Unfortunately I forgot to upload that pic but I will at a later time.

The pizzas were all fabulous. Brick oven style crust. Not too greasy or "mushy" on the veggie pizza. Everyone who got pizza was very happy. Even Jesse. The bolognese, according to green man grandpa, was very good as well. Woody said the spaghetti was just "okay". nothing special. The meatballs were so huge he couldn't eat them all!

Desserts were okay. Wheezy liked the frozen yogurt but it was nothing special. We never ate the brownie. We took it to the room and it sat for days before being disposed of. The cheesecake, Woody said, needed a sauce and was just too plain and bland without one. He wouldn't order it again. The creme brule was good. Both me and green man grandma loved it. green man grandpa had a brownie and said it was "okay".

We give Wolfgang Pucks a "F" on the U.F.O. scale. Most of us liked the main courses but the desserts were just so-so. We do end up coming back later in the week but it sure wasn't for the desserts!;)

Please take this in the spirit is intended. I am not trying to be mean because you sound like a great lady, who really loves her family and dotes on her children, which is so aweome. I realize you are on vacation and it is sort of known that you don't eat the best, especially at the world.

But you are not doing your kids any favors. Mix in a healthy meal. Heck, mix in a healthy snack. Heck, mix in a bottle of water, by your won choice. If you don't, your kids are on their way to a rough life.

I agree the pot roast at the PT 50s is one of the best I have ever had. I really like they are doing the platter now were you can try a little bit of everything.

WOW Momgoose.. That seems completely uncalled for.. Everyone has the right to their opinion but dont push it on someone unless asked! At the very least a private message to OP would have beem more acceptable!

Ok off my soap box..

OP-Loving the reviews and the pics, everything looks very good! Looking forward to more!

VACATION - The OP isn't saying her kids eat like this all the time!

My DH is a marthon runner - he's very health conscious and we healthy most of the time. On vacation we splurge - heck I even let my kids have Mickey bars one time for breakfast! VACATION . . .

Beignets....:lovestruc:worship::lovestruc just another reason to love POFQ

and bluejasmine I completely agree :sad2:

While I am not sure I would have posted what mongoose did but telling her to mind her own business seems a little silly when all this information is on a public board for all to see. If you don’t care for the opinions of others perhaps you should not post your life on discussion board. I am enjoying this report so I hope things to do not get sout of hand and the OP decides not to come back.

Thank you OP for the reviews:) I am excited to see more. I hope woody found his turkey leg, it is a must find on our trips also :-) :cool1:

At least once a trip we have cupcakes for breakfast! :thumbsup2 Would I do that at home, nope.

OP, I do hope you keep posting, I am loving your reviews! And your kids are adorable ... you can totally tell they are having a blast which in my mind is the point of vacation, especially at WDW!

I love your reviews so far!! Keep em coming!!

The pizzas at Wolfgang Puck look amazing! I ate there the last time I was at WDW but I didn't try those. I might have to get one when I'm there in August though!

Also, vacation is vacation and I've been known to let my daughter eat a hot fudge sundae for dinner just because we can! Everything in moderation and a few days of being a little lax about food choices is perfectly fine. When my dd was little she went through a phase of nothing but chicken nuggets and Mrs. Grass soup from a box! :confused3 When you have a picky eater, you just want to make sure that they eat! She's grown out of that and eats normal food now but I'm also not a mom that is going to make her eat nothing but salads and veggies at WDW! We love beignets too much!

Looking forward to more reviews and pictures!

Love your reviews.:thumbsup2

Tutto and 50's look awesome!

I am so jealous that you got to meet Phineas and Ferb. They were supposed to be there during our trip in May, but the date got pushed back:sad2::sad1::guilty: Great picture!

Did you go to Wolfgang Puck Express or the the regular one? The margherita pizza (think that's the one) at WPE was beyond delicious! Those pizzas are HUGE. We had ADRs at Wolfgang but didn't make it there....so sad.

At least you got to save your hour waiting in line for something else!:flower3: Maybe not meeting Phineas and Ferb is a great reason to plan another trip!

It was the Express one by the carousel. We haven't eaten at the actual cafe yet but would love to!

As for all the talk about whether or not I'm doing a injustice to my children by never offering them veggies/water/fruit--whatever... I was pretty upset by this talk this morning since it is way off in left field as to our normal habits. This is a vacation, and yes, our vacation eating habits are very lax. Our children do not have opportunities for sweets/desserts regularly and we don't restrict on vacation for this very reason. If you don't agree with or appreciate our food choices there is a simple solution: go read another thread, though I doubt you'll be seeing much of a difference in food choices.

This thread was intended to share pics/details of food ordered to help others make choices in their future vacations--not to debate healthy diets/lifestyle choices. I would love to continue sharing my families experiences if the thread can stay positive and on track with the original intent. Thanks to all of you who privately pm'd me offering kind words of support and to those of you who posted and tried to keep the thread positive.

Never found the turkey leg.:guilty: They used to sell them at the Lunching Pad outside of Cosmic Rays. When we went there this time they told us that turkey legs can only be found somewhere over near Splash Mountain. We never saw it though so I don't know the validity of this claim.

DS will be very bummed if we don't find a turkey leg! Wonder when they stopped selling them at the Lunching Pad? :confused3 Very sorry that Woody never got his! Personally, I can't eat more than a bite or two at most, but DS enjoys it the once a year we get to WDW!

Noone was hungry this morning for breakfast so we skipped it and went straight to Magic Kingdom. Around 11:00 we were hungry so we headed to Cosmic Rays. Again, Woody went looking for the turkey leg at the Lunching Pad but was told you can only get one near Splash Mountain. He came back pretty depressed because he didn't want to trek over and try to find it. He was hungry then and there.

Woody chose the Rib/chicken combo with chocolate cake for dessert.

Woody said the chicken was juicy. He loved the veggies. He didn't get all the ribs down. It was just too much. When he opened his cake he didn't love it.

Jesse chose the nuggets/fries and cookie.

Jesse ate about 3 fries and then ended up eating quite a bit of her dad's chicken instead. I put the cookie in my purse for later and it ended up getting squished and when I found it a few days later we threw it away. It didn't look like a big loss!

Wheezy and I both chose a cheeseburger with fries/cake.

They had 2 burgers on the menu, 1 with guacamole and 1 with my very favorite....BACON! ugh... We ordered the one with bacon and asked them to keep it off but guess what? The bacon showed up on both burgers...:sad2: By this point in the trip bacon is an ongoing joke to see who can do the funniest thing with the floppy bacon. We both peeled off our bacon and replaced it with topping bar items. They have a great toppings bar at Cosmic Rays! They have chopped onions (fresh), lettuce, tomato (was really red and ripe), mushrooms (cooked and hot), pickles, and hot cheese sauce. I added lettuce/tomato/onion/pickles. Wheezy added onion. The burgers were a bit dry and neither of us finished. We both tried the chocolate cake and agreed with Woody that it was just a bunch of rich icing (really--over half the container was icing) and didn't finish.

We gave Cosmic Rays an "F" on the U.F.O. scale. We love the toppings bar and the chicken was great but the burgers were a bit dry and we got more floppy bacon!
