loving your reviews and the score scales - never seen a cheesesteak sandwich before and it looks really good :)

After a good nights sleep Jesse was in a much better mood and we were off to the Magic Kingdom, but first we needed breakfast! Our experience at ASMO wasn't so hot but we figured we'd give a chance to POFQ to help our breakfast blues!

Jesse and Woody tried the eggs and bacon again, I had the mickey waffle meal again, and Wheezy tried the biscuits and gravy. All but the biscuits and gravy were kids meals. We had applesauce instead of grapes this time. We found out later in the week that the biscuits and gravy would be a snack credit if we wanted to use it. We did that a lot! The pic quality isn't that great here. Sorry about the fuzziness and shadows. Luckily we have more pics of the same things later in the week!:)

biscuits and gravy were really good. You get 2 biscuits and they split them to make 4 biscuit halves that are topped with a generous portion of gravy. The gravy was a bit salty/greasy but in a good way. a flavorful way. The mickey waffles were the same as ASMO. Not fresh, but not bad. The eggs seemed less runny here, thank goodness, but the bacon was a another flop, quite literally!:sad2: Come on Disney! When you can roll your bacon up into a twirly pop there is a problem!

We gave POFQ breakfast a "F" on the U.F.O. rating system. It was better than ASMO but still forgettable. At least we left full from breakfast this time! It saved us a fortune not having to eat at Goofy's afterwards!:rotfl2:

:sad2:After many rides and walking in the heat we decided to head back to the hotel for a swim. On our way out we stopped at the Main Street Bakery for lunch. We all got the turkey sandwich. For dessert Wheezy had an apple turnover, Jesse had an oreo cupcake, and I got a chocolate croissant. Woody actually went looking for a turkey leg instead of Main Street Bakery but gave up and came back. He ordered separately from us afterwards sad and depressed he wasn't eating a turkey leg. He ended up getting the turkey sandwich with a cinnamon roll.

Here's where I get a bit upset: When I took the kids through the line I asked if the meal plan came with a side and I was told that you got the sandwich and 1 dessert with drink. I asked again at the register to make sure we didn't get chips or fruit on the side and was told no. It is only sandwich, drink, dessert. Okay, no problem. When Woody went through 15 minutes later and asked he was told to get a sandwich, dessert, drink, AND side item. He chose apple slices. When he went through the register line they didn't blink and charged him a quick service meal. So I'm not sure if he got the apples as a side for "free" with pixie dust or if I got screwed out of my side items when I went through. I was upset that I asked twice and got the same answer and he asked once and got a different response.

Anyway, I let it go. I didn't have room for the apples anyway with the size of the sandwich! Here's a pic of one of the sandwiches, the cupcake, the choc. croissant, and the apple turnover. I didn't get a pick of the cinnamon roll since Woody was eating it while I was looking at our receipts trying to figure out what really came with the credit.

and the random apples that Woody got:

We've eaten at Main Street Bakery before and had good memories of it. This time it fell a bit short. The sandwiches were definitely smaller this time (although still big enough...just a let down after having a giant one in the past.) I really think we got chips on the side last time and didn't this time. Heck, not even the workers know what you get! The chocolate croissant was good but not great. The apple turnover, Wheezy tells me, was very good. The oreo cupcake was too rich for Jesse. She had a few licks and then gave up. It looked very good though. Woody loved the cinnamon roll though. But what really makes me sad about our trip this time is that they got rid of the strawberry and cappacino smoothies they used to have that you could get as your drink! Those smoothies were a hit with my family and now they have been replaced with iced coffees! We were not happy campers! I had been looking forward to the strawberry smoothy all day long and ended up with a bottled water!

We give Main Street Bakery a "O" on the U.F.O. scale for "only if it were the last place in the galaxy to eat". We will probably not be making another stop to the Main Street bakery in the future. Just wasn't as cool as last time. They got rid of our smoothies in favor of iced coffee, they were giving conflicting info about what you could order, the sandwiches have shrunk, and the desserts look a lot better than they taste!

Great reviews

We are eating at Tutto for the first time in August. Really looking forward to it.

Love the quick updates!

Also what cute kids, your son looks like a character, hmm like mother like son?

I'm digging the tie-dye tees! Takes me back to my teen years, groovy:hippie:

After a refreshing swim we headed back to Magic Kingdom for dinner at Liberty Tree Tavern. We've been here every trip we make to Disney World. It is our family tradition. Since we've been here so many times I wasn't that excited but Woody was so excited he could have peed his pants! After we got checked in we waited about 20 minutes for a table--they were packed! Once the food started flowing I remembered why we ate there every time. LTT is fabulous! It consisted of salad with strawberry vinagrette dressing, rolls, mashed potatoes, mac and cheese, green beans, dressing, turkey, ham, beef, and gravy. MMMMMMMM!!!!!

Oh my gosh, this meal was so good! We asked for dressing on the side since Wheezy and Woody won't eat salad with dressing but the waitress forgot and it was on the salad. We didn't send it back, they saved their stomachs while I ate the salad. I loved the dressing! Light and sweet! The rolls and honey butter were to die for! We ate a whole basket of 10 and she brought out more. I could have made a meal out of these rolls. They were soft and warm. The green beans tasted very fresh and had a good crunch on them rather than being mushy. The potatoes tasted great and had a few small lumps, which we actually like. The gravy was thick and flavorful. I didn't try the dressing but Woody did and liked it. The ham had a sauce on top of it that only I liked (a fruity sauce) the turkey was juicy and well seasoned, and the beef was a huge hit. the beef was gone in mere minutes and we asked for more. We were brought a huge platter of beef that we knew we could never finish. Boy we tried though! When she cleared the table and said dessert was on the way we declined. We were way to full to try to eat ice cream and apple cobbler! We've had it before though and it is good. You just have to have enough restraint to save room for it!:lmao:

We gave Liberty Tree Tavern a "U" on the "U.F.O." scale. Unforgettable! I remember why we flock there every trip. This "old fashioned" food never gets old for us! We will continue to come back each trip to stuff ourselves like pilgrims!:thumbsup2

Thanks! After running around 11 days I'm tired and I'll take any excuse to sit on the couch all day long!

My son is DEFINITELY a card! What is the saying? The apple doesn't fall far from the tree? He is me made all over! Sarcastic as the day is long and quite a humorous young man.

I got the tie-dye instructions on another section of the boards. I made so many of them it was hilarious. We got a lot of compliments on them throughout the parks and one day on Splash Mountain a worker gave Wheezy and Woody a free 8x10 picture of them going down the hill just because he liked the shirts so much!:wizard:

Great report so far! Thanks for taking the time to share!

We had a similar issue at the MSB. We were told when we went thru the line that we got a sandwich, beverage and TWO pastries for a snack credit. Got to the register and of course we were told only one pastry. I was going to have them take one back but said that I only took what I was told/given. Then ended up letting us have the extra pastry and still only charged us the one QS credit. Funny how people can work some place and not know the right answer to a question that must be asked 100 times a day!

Love the Tutto and LTT review. We haven't had dinner at LTT since they took the characters away. Your pics made me realize how much I loved that ham! We are trying Via Napoli this year as well as Mama Melroses & Tonys so not Tutto this trip. Again your pics are making me wish I could fit it in!

Loving your reviews and food pics as we're heading to the world in Sept. Where did you get those great tie-dyed mickey shirts? I love them!

We ate at LTT when characters were there and honestly I like it better without characters! I've done a lot of character dining and I just don't think my kids will eat because they are way to excited to see characters. (DD is now and DS was when he was smaller). Why pay $35 to have your kids NOT eat because they are too busy watching Mickey walk to another table?? Then they want to stop and get a snack 15 minutes after you leave!

I agree on MSB problem. That is a pretty basic question. Get it together! Make a sign and put it near the menu explaining it if your staff can't seem to answer it!

Thanks! I made them. There are detailed instructions on how to do it on the DISigns board. We got so many compliments! We had people stop and ask where we got them every day! Plus the free picture I mentioned earlier. They were fun to wear! I saw several DISboard members who were wearing their creations this trip!:)

The next day we skipped breakfast because we were still digesting our early Thanksgiving dinner from the previous night! We headed to Hollywood Studios. Now it WAS starwars weekend and we WERE expecting to see a crowd but we thought we'd be okay since we're not really star wars fans and didn't have any intention of doing anything star wars related. NOT! It was PACKED!!! The park opened at 9:00 officially. We entered the gate at 8:50 (They were letting people in early.) and went straight to Toy Story ride. ALREADY A 50 MINUTE WAIT???!!! The park wasn't even opened yet officially! And our fast pass we got right then and there wasn't good until 12:30! So much for the star wars fans going to the new star tours ride first off... Anyway Wheezy and Woody went to rockin rollercoaster and I took Jesse to playland and then went to the Phineas and Ferb line an hour early. This was the premiere day for Phineas and Ferb meet and greet and they came out at 10:30. I was in line for it at 9:40 because our lunch ressies were at 11:00 and I wanted time to get there. It was packed! I know this has nothing to do with a dining review but I am so proud that we were the 4th family EVER to meet Phineas and Ferb at HS!

Okay, back to the food. After meeting our characters we ran to 50's Prime Time. We've never been here. When we checked in they were telling "walk ins" that there was at least a 2 hour wait. Glad we had ressies! I love the atmosphere here. The furniture was 50's style. They wore 50's clothing. Our waitress was Aunt Deborah. She was hilarious. She put the napkins/silverware on the table and made my kids set it! No special considerations for Jesse who is only 4. Our "aunt" made her do napkins and patiently explained how to do it several times until it finally "clicked". Then she explained the house rules and warned us she'd make us put our nose in the corner if we didn't follow them. We had 3 "strikes" before we were put in the corner...

For drinks I had a strawberry smoothie, Woody had a coke with vanilla added, Jesse had a cherry coke with cherries, and Wheezy had a vanilla shake. For dinner Jesse had mashed potatoes with chicken nuggets, Woody and I had "mother's sampler platter", and Wheezy had dad's meatloaf. For dessert I had the boston cream mouse, Wheezy had the cheesecake, Jesse made her own sundae, and Woody had apple cobbler. Jesse also had chicken noodle soup for an appetizer.

Food was terrific! Smoothie made me feel better about Main Street Bakery let down. The fried chicken was just like grandma used to make. The pot roast was to die for! The meatloaf was just ok. I'm not a big fan of meatloaf but I wanted to try the other 2 meats! If I had to choose 1 main course I'd go for the pot roast. It was heavenly! I loved the veggies too. there were greens (hidden under meat) and green beans that were very good. Jesse's soup was fabulous. I know since I ate a lot of it. too many veggies for her taste. Her nuggets looked a bit gross to me but she loved them. She hated the mashed potatoes since they had skins on them. After we finished our plates we got "clean plate club" stickers. she was very sad she didn't get one so we all chipped in and finished up for her so she could get one. Then on to dessert! Woody loved the apple cobbler. Jesse loved making her own sundae. I loved my boston cream pie mousse...until Wheezy took it! He tried the cheesecake for the first time and decided he hated cheesecake. That's okay, I like cheesecake so it was an OK trade. I loved the cheesecake! Fresh mint was on it and everything!

Now unfortunately our "aunt" caught Wheezy with his elbows on the table 3 times and he had to put his nose in the corner.... She even put a napkin inbetween his nose and the corner to make sure his nose really was on the wall! She had the entire restraunt tell him, "shame, shame shame!" in unison as he sat in the corner. That was worth the price of admission right there! I didn't upload that picture but I'll have to find it later...Its priceless!

We give 50's prime time a "U" on the U.F.O. rating system! We will run back to 50's Prime Time the next time we go! You should go too! Run, don't walk, to the opening of 50's Prime Time, especially if you don't have ressies. You'll have a LONG wait but it will be well worth it!

The rest of the day was a bust at HS. It was so busy that between the hours of 9:00 and 2:00 all we did was Toy Story (and we had a fast pass for that!), rockin roller coaster, meet Phineas and Ferb, and the playland for Honey I shrunk the Kids. Other than that and lunch we did nothing. Way too crowded. We couldn't even find a photopass man since the streets were blocked off for parades. It was a nightmare!

I love love love your reviews, your family looks so sweet, sounds like you guys had a great time!!! Thanks for sharing

Aw thanks! We do look sweet, don't we? That's the good thing about pictures. We can be cranky and hateful to eachother all day as long as we smile for that few seconds and everyone will think we're a normal well-adjusted family!:lmao:

How could we have been here a few days without trying the beniegts??? Okay, I don't even know how to spell it and I'm sure I got it wrong but I don't care! These things are great! We ordered a 6 pack and watched them kneed the dough, pop it in the fryer, pour a ton of sugar onto it, and hand them over to us. Okay, for our personal taste there was WAY TOO MUCH powdered sugar but we easily rectified the problem by brushing it off. There seriously had to be a cup or more of sugar in that container. Good thing we aren't diabetic!

Notice there are 7 of those fried goodies in the box, not 6. They made a "back up" beniegt in case of failure and they all came out good so we prospered the benefits. Beware: these little critters are HOT even after you've taken the time to pay, find a seat, and divy them out. I bit into one and steam rushed into my mouth from the middle. After that I started to let them sit longer! They are also a bit addictive. This certainly wasn't our last trip for the fried treats....

POFQ's fried fritters rates a "U" for "unforgettable" on our U.F.O. scale! I actually dreamed about them last night. We will be heading back for these little devils as soon as we can!
