To fly or not to fly, that is the question

For our first 6 trips to DL we arrived by train or car so we have tried a little of everything. I finally convinced everyone to fly on our last trip. IMHO flying is by far the best way to go! For me the best reason is that we can leave home and be there in the same day which leaves us all the additional to time spend at DL instead of still in transit.

During some of ours trips we have ventured out into the CA traffic to go see additional sites. (Universal, Hollywood, Legoland, SD Wild Animal Park) My husband has decided that CA drivers are actually more polite than drivers in the FTW/Dallas area. I must say from a passengers point of view I didn't disinguish much difference but that may be because I was too terrified to watch! I came to the conclusion that it was not worth driving through traffic to go see anything else in CA! The cab ride from the airport to the hotel and back is enough thrill ride for me.

Oh, wow. I forgot about the train. Believe it or not, there is a train stop near Anaheim Stadium (where the Angels play) that is not at all far from Disneyland and the ART runs right there. I LOVE taking the train and now that California is all hooked up as far as train travel, this is a great option. . .

FLY!! We live in Sacramento, so our drive is under 7 hours, but being in the car that long makes everyone tired, cranky and stressed. We fkew down in February and couldn't believe the difference it made. When we arrived we were relaxed and ready to go. My parents came with us and flew for the first time too and agreed that flying made a HUGE difference. They only stayed one night, but got to enjoy two full days and felt wonderful when they got home.

That said we will probably drive 99% of the time since it leaves more in our budget for another Disney trip later in the year!
