with the dollar being absolutely wonderful, how many are planning on an extra trip to DL? We are going Nov 08 and I am debating as to booking now or waiting to see if the dollar gets even better!

Hi ShoppingMom - The Australian dollar is going strong just like the US at present. And I've been through the same questions myself - we're around 1 AUD buys around 93c at present, and still heading north

I worked out the rate how much the trip would cost now, against if the dollar fell, vs how much money interest I would make if I kept the $ in the bank.

Australian economic "experts" are predicting parity with the AUD by Christmas/new year so I'm holding off. Check out some of your Financial Newspapers or Business TV channels to see if you can get some predicitions about the Canadian dollar.

Remember too that November is a long way off (we're going in October 2008), and many hotels I've discovered won't take your money until check out. Travel agents are different though and will take your $$ now. Also, remember that better deals may come out between now and then.

We were debating going in Feb. 2008 but have decided to start shopping around for a deal. Of course while we're at DL we'll have to get in some shopping too.

We were not planning to go to DL for another year with our two daughters but have moved it up because of the strong Canadian $. We leave Nov 28th

We are taking advantage of our high dollar! We are going to DL in 9 days and purchasing DVC and then going to WDW in April to OKW on rented points (no kids) and then we are going to try and book our home resort AKV for Christmas 08 in WDW.

DD & I are talking about going in Feb 08, we just came back from San Francisco area and the deals we got shopping were great!! Ended up buying another 4 piece luggage there as we couldn't get all our things back that we bought
