To EMH or not to EMH that is the question

We have always done EMH - been there 30 minutes early even - BUT I just bought the Unofficial Guide...and it has me thinking...maybe I should just let us all sleep in and be 30 minutes early to a non EMH park. I know this is a hotly contested issue here on the Dis... but just curious... what are the experiences of those of you who avoid EMH parks? What are the thoughts of those who have done both strategies?

THOUGHTS?

In the future, I definitely will avoid AK on EMH mornings. It's impossibly crowded. CM's said it stays that way most of the day. On off days, it's quite pleasant.

Really!! I wonder why AK is so crowded, does the layout not hold the crowds well? How is MK EMH different?

Only half of MK was open, tomorrowland and fantasyland. I didn't think it was worth it for just an hours jump on the crowds, but the parks weren't that crowded last week anyway. I definitely enjoyed the EMH evenings.

EMH evenings were terrific. Never did get up early enough for EMH mornings.

We did EMH for AK in the afternoon from 5 to 8 the first week of march and it was great. Here's the secret, get there around 4:30 and RUN to the back to the safari ride, they usually close right at or a little before closing time. The best part is getting to see the animals in the evening-the cheetahs were literally RUNNING around! Never had seen that before, most of the time if we even saw cheetahs they were doing a very convincing imitation of a sleeping stuffed animal. The light was wonderful, and we got lots of gorgeous shots. Then we kinda moseyed along for the rest of the night and it was great seeing AK at night; something we'd never seen before. Did EMH at EPCOT in the morning and it was fine, walked right onto TT. Did MK at night for the EMH and it was still pretty crowded, but less so than in the daytime. Had about a 15 minute wait for SM, 10 minutes for BTM, then we walked right on the rest. There were fools waiting in the massively long Peter Pan ride so we skipped and did Philharmagic instead. Ended the evening with the Aladdin ride basically to ourselves-definitely magical! Wish they'd had the Jungle ride open at night, though.... So all postive encounters with EMH.
