I just booked our tickets for the Christmas Parade on Nov. 16 This is a first for our family and was wondering if any one else has experienced and what they though as well as can you get in the park before 7pm we would like to have our CS that night at MK before the parade starts. TIA

I prefer eating a sit down meal in MK, before the party. We usually make our ADR around 5:30p.

There will be counter services open but they will be crowded. I do not like the idea of stopping during the party to eat, even counter service.

If you want a reservation call now. I was lame and didn't book my reservation right away. I'm going to MVMCP on Dec 4. All the early reservations are gone at LTT. The earliest they had available for a party of 4 was 6:50pm.

So I'm going to call at my 180 days out and hopefully get into CP for an early dinner. Otherwise, we'll probably be CS for dinner, too.

Actually, LTT is not booked up. They only released ADR times after 6:00p this early on and will release the earlier times (before 6:00p) at 180 days. Same with Tony's.

Usually when I call to order tickets, I ask if I can book right then. Now my memory may be slightly faulty, but I want to say each previous time, I have been able to secure a reservation around 5:30pm or 5:40pm.

I ordered the tickets online this year and didn't call until today. So I thought I had missed the boat.

I can, and will, still call at 180 days and see what happens.

Sorry, I didn't specify that this is a new thing for this year. You are correct that in the past they opened up all the ADR times but they are doing it a bit different this year. They only booked folks with tickets AFTER 6:00p. I guess they did this to make it fair to those not going the parties who call at 180 days. :confused3

We will be there on 12/4 as well. I did get an ADR for Tony's for 6:05pm. My goal is to get a very late lunch/early dinner at CP for about 3-3:30pm and cancel Tony's. Then we will pick up snacks or a CR later that night if we need to.

It's ds' 2nd bday so it should be fun! :earsboy:

In 04 and 05 we ate at CP around 4:45, last seating available before they closed the park (they did that back then)

Last year we were going to eat at Grand Floridian Cafe around 5 or so but were not that hungry so around 7 we ate at Peco Bills, the place was jammed packed

This year we are going to eat at 5 at Kona then go to the party

One time we ate at LTT around 6pm, and one time we ate outside the park. I really don't have a preference either way except to say that I'd definitely plan to be finished eating before the party. I don't want to miss a minute! Both times we just filled up on cookies and hot chocolate if we got hungry. We're not normally big cookie eaters, but there must be something about MK, especially when you smell the "cookies baking" smell as the parade float goes by.

Sorry to sort of hijack, but I am thinking of a resort dinner prior to the party (Kona). Is 5pm a good time? I am wondering if their are huge lines to get in MK around 630/7. I was there in 2004 but we were in the park from prior. This time we are planning AK for the morning through lunch.

Thanks!

ETA: From reading this I am getting nervous about ADR's. Our first day is 12/2, I thought I couldn't book ADR's until 6/5 but it seems some people already have them? Am I missing something? I didn't even order the MVMCP tix yet -do I have sometime or do these things actually book up this early? We have never done ADR's except for character meals & my parents have for V&A so this is new to me. Are ADR's for Dec really going to disappear so soon since the parks are usually not packed that time of year? Yikes!
