To drive or not to drive is the question.

We are planning a trip to the world November 29-December 7.

My DH is thinking about driving instead of flying. So I have a few questions for those of you DISers who have braved a drive to WDW.

We live in Pa, So I think its a 19 hour drive, Correct?

What are your suggestions? Drive straight through? Stop somewhere and catch a couple hours of sleep? If so where?

We would probably leave on Tues the 28th if we do decided to drive.

How do you make the trip less painful on the way home?

Thanks for the help!!

Where in pa? Its a different route east our west of the Appalachia mountains.

We travel down 81, I am near the I 80 81 junction.
It takes 17 hrs but we drive 10 hours one day, stop for the night in south carolina, then 10 hrs the next day.

But, take stops, walk around. Eat a decent meal, potty stops for littlest, and 'Mamma. With two of us with real bad back, we need to get out at least every 2-3 hrs.

I like getting a good nights rest. The only think with this trip, we are not going 81-83 15- to Washington DC, VA, down, we will go I81 to I77, 26 to 95.
Coming home we may take the 95, North as no traffic during that time.

We are leaving a week Friday, the 8th when school gets out. Coming back the 16/17.

I have a pre trip and will add the enroute trip as we go in the link below. Flying is $1000 for 5, packing light. The drive is $400 and two rooms so about $600 and we will have a car onsite.

BUT, if it was dd and I, we would be flying and ME.
