"TO DISNEY & BEYOND" ~ ROAD TRIP 2010
Meet the Cast
Well...............I'm FINALLY back to write a NEW trip report!
Some of you may remember me from my past two TRs (If you're interested, you can find the links in my signature!). Whether you are a returning reader, a new reader, or even a "lurker," WELCOME!!! 
I truly appreciate you reading along and I hope you'll comment and join in on the fun!
On to the cast...
Lynne ~ Me ~ I love everything DISNEY! I love staying at different resorts (Wilderness Lodge is my current favorite), I love all of the parks (my favorites are Magic Kingdom & Epcot), I love all of the rides (especially Tower of Terror and the rest of the thrill rides), I love the attractions and shows (Beauty and the Beast is a favorite and Belle is my favorite princess), and I love all of the characters (Mickey holds a special place in my heart, of course!). I just love the "magical feeling" that I get when I'm in the World and I love how my inner-child always seems to make an appearance!
Chris ~ DH ~ Chris loves Disney too! His favorite resort is the Wilderness Lodge (he loves the outdoorsy feel of it), Animal Kingdom is his favorite park, his favorite ride is Buzz Lightyear (we have a fierce sense of competition...Chris is already thinking that Toy Story Mania may be his new favorite after this trip), and one of his favorite shows is the Festival of the Lion King. Chris is a BIG KID at heart so it's easy for him to find his place in the most magical place on Earth!
Little back story ~ So I've been in serious withdrawal these past two and a half years...please note that the picture above is NOT in WDW, but in Cancun, Mexico. Ever since DH and I got married (9 years ago), we had been traveling to WDW almost every year. Little did I know that it would come to a screeching halt after our New Year's Trip in January of '08. DH "thought" it might be a good idea to check out "other destinations" in and around the country..............ummmmmmm, what?
You mean no Disney? After the initial shock, I agreed, knowing that I would still be able to put my obsessive, planning skills to work and I would still have the opportunity to travel with my wonderful husband!
Now let me warn you ahead of time...we are avid travelers and we are on the go A LOT! Here's a peek into what we've been up to while on our hiatus from Disney:

Some might say that we caught the "Travel Bug!"
So where do we fit this travel into our busy lives might you ask??? Chris drives for UPS and I am a 1st grade teacher. At this point in time, we do not have any children (just 2 dogs and a nephew that we spoil rotten)................soooooooooo, when I am on a break and Chris is lucky enough to get vacation time, we're off and running!

Was that picture from your cruise taken in St. Maarten?
I guess that's one way to put it! 
I loved looking at your pictures because we have been to most of the same places. The picture at Emerald Lake is gorgeous. We were there in 2009 also (June). We loved the Yukon. Can't wait to hear more!!
Chris suggested taking a "Road Trip," rather than flying somewhere for our trip. I wasn't too keen on the idea, given that we always fly everywhere and I like the idea of getting to our destinations rather quickly. However, with more discussion, I agreed, knowing that the Road Trip itself could be an adventure. Plus, we hadn't taken a trip like this since we first got married.
We chose our destinations based on the time it would take to get there..........weird, I know!!! We figured out that Gatlinburg is about 9 hours from home, so we wanted our next destination to be around the same amount of time so that we didn't have an over abundance of driving time on our travel days. Here's where Disney came into play. I said, "We're almost halfway to WDW once we get to Tennessee, so why don't we make that our next stop?" 
Chris seemed a little hesitant because all he was thinking about was the HEAT. Now, I don't blame him at all.........I knew that we would be facing very hot temperatures traveling there in the summer, but I also knew it was my only chance of getting back to the World anytime in the near future.
