To Buy or Not To Buy

We are a family of six going to Disney the end of August. We are flying from Philadelphia. I have been watching airfare and right now I can get rt tickets for $258/ticket. We just moved to this area and I don't know if that's good or not? The rate is not on southwest so if they come out with ding fares or the price goes down I'd be out of luck.
So the question is should I risk it and wait hoping that SWA comes through with lower rates (and no baggage fees) or do I just buy now?
Also, does anyone know what a ding fare from Philadelphia to Orlando is?

TIA

The good thing about southwest is they will adjust the price if it goes down. I just did that today. We used our rapid rewards points and the amount of points just dropped so I was able to get points back

OP said the $258 is not SW.

OP, I don't travel that time of year so I can't help.

We went in January from same area and were just at $200. Given how gas has gone up, I'd think that is a good price.

We fly out of either BWI or PHI depending on the cost. I don't think $258 is too bad for a r/t ticket. If you have to pay for seats and bags on top of it, then I might wait a little bit to look at other options. Prices have gone up so much the last few years that if I found tickets including bags for $250 per person, I'd book it. It isn't a great price, but it is pretty good.

We've gone for as low as <$200 pp from BWI to Orlando - with a SW ding, it was $59 one way, $79 the other - plus taxes and stuff - around $150 pp. That is the best price I have ever gotten and they haven't been offering anything like that recently.

I just priced out airfare from BWI on SW and AirTran for some October dates and can't find anything lower than $1200-1300 for the 4 of us - that is a more "normal" price in my experience.

OP - you might want to look into driving to BWI and flying from there as well, depending on where you live.

I've looked into BWI.....our son goes to Hopkins and so I thought it would be nice to work in a little side trip to see him too but, the fairs aren't any cheaper currently. Thanks for all the replies
Everyone watch the prices plummet on SWA because I'm gonna go ahead and buy the $258rt which means price drop on SWA:rotfl2:
