I'm still trying to decide whether or not to bring a stroller for DD who has just turned 4. We never use it anymore but then we also haven't done ALOT of walking either. She does complain about getting tired even on our short walks though. I know we can rent strollers at DL but we are staying accross the street at the Camelot so not sure if the walk back to the hotel is when we will need the stroller most. I know it's supposedly a short walk....is it a short walk for kids?????? We are also going to be in Vegas for a week due to a conference and I would guess there will be alot of walking around there just sightseeing (I hope we can find some child friendly things to look at or do anyway but that's for another forumn).......has anyone else brought a stroller for their 4 year old or would I be silly to? I really hate lugging it around for all of our flights especially if we never end up using it but would also hate to wish we had it and NOT have one. If we do bring one what happens when you go on rides? Are most people respectful and don't steal them?

We have been going since my dd was 3 and she is now 5. We take a stroller every time. It is a great way to store stuff, it keeps her in a better mood, we get around faster overall. Sometimes, she gets tired and takes a nap and without the stroller that would be problematic. DLR and DCA do a great job of making it easy to manage a stroller.

The only time it is a hassle at all is getting on a tram. They have a special car in the front and back that allows you to load your stroller without having to fold it up, but those lines are the longest usually.

I think it will be a long time before we abandon our stroller.

I went few weeks ago and I brought one for my just 4 year old. If nothing more it holds all the junk that we end up taking. I like taking my own because you cant' take the rentals outside the park, plus they don't have drink holders and mine does.

I would bring a stroller for sure!! Even if it is a short walk to and from the hotel at the end of the day when everyone is tired... It will be a lifesaver!!

I would bring it. I was and am an anti-stroller type, with two exceptions. Jogging and Disney.

On our trip in September we drove, brought the lightweight stroller (bought specifically for Disney) and were annoyed at times to have it when DS didn't want it, but it also saved us from having to carry him ALL the time he asked to be carried.

In December I talked myself out of taking it on the plane trip, and I regretted it just about every step! Especially those when I had to carry him! Even though the hotel is nearby, at the end of the day you'll be walking to the park exit from wherever you were, through the esplanade, to and through the bag check exits, along the walk there...the whole walk that felt so zippy in the morning will feel much longer later. :)

Most people are respectful and don't steal them. Often people think their stroller is missing, but the CMs have simply moved them. Some people bring a bike lock and put it around two of the wheels, so the CMs can still move them around, but it would be difficult for a thief to really use the stroller. Just don't leave stuff in it; we had a new hat taken from underneath other things in the bottom of the stroller in September. The CMs made it right once they heard, but it was a bummer to experience a theft, and I won't leave anything in the bottom, b/c even a water bottle's theft would be a bummer.

I would definately say YES for a few different reasons

1. Little kids tire out easy so you might want to consider with the amount of walking you will be doing to bring it to save your childs energy level.

2. It doesnt cost anything to have your own. You can rent strollers in the park but for a cost.

3. Its a great storage for all your personal belongings.

We went in December, DS just turned four. We rented a stroller and it was very helpful. He probably sat in it for 50% of the time, and it was helpful for carrying other things. We kept a coat on top when we went on rides and no one ever touched it - except an occasional CM. We were at the BWPPI, the closest hotel - right across the street. The walk to the hotel at the end of the night was a killer, that is when we really needed a stroller. Carrying 42 pounds back was a terrible way to end the day! If we had the option we would have definitely brought our own stroller.

BRING THE STROLLER! We just did this with our 4 year old and thank goodness we brought the stroller. We were also staying right across the street and we needed the stroller for the walk to and from the hotel and in the park. You don't realize how much walking you do while you are there and just think that your 4 year old does either 2 or 3 times as much walking because of their short little legs.

Get you a disney rewards card from chase then you show them the card and get a free stroller rental great deal glad I have one now. No packing my own and no more money going to disney Im sure I spend it on other things lol.

Nothing like giving to the bank of disney they sure know how to make sure you have nothing left when you leave lol.

I love my Mac Volo for Disnyland, DD is 4 and I'll continue bringing it till she's too heavy.

Yep, the more I've read all of your replies the happier I'm feeling about bringing it along!

DisneyMomma81......The Mac Volo is exactly what we have too. I absolutely love that stroller...so light to carry and moves and steers like a dream and I checked the other day and DD still fits in it beautifully.... BUT the only thing I HATE HATE HATE is that it tips over so easily (okay, so I do all the wrong things like hang all my bags over the handles).....anyway, just wondering if you happen to have this problem too? I've heard of little stroller weights you can buy for them to stop the tipping but can't find them anywhere here (Australia)....just curious if they are a common thing over in the U.S.??

I will be odd girl out and say we don't use it. We went last year for my daughter's 4th birthday . We never had a need for a stroller but then again she truly is a princess and her feet cannot touch peasant ground, she must be carried by her daddy.:rotfl:

Now when I lived in CA and went 2-3 times a week I would take a stroller if it was just me and my SIL or me and Moms Group. Never once had a problem with any sort of theft. I even once saw a guy leave a camcorder within plain view while he went on Pooh, got off, camera still there. CM will move them every now and then to make room for others. If it was just dh and I we would just take a back pack and the sling and we were good to go.

If you think your child will use it, then by all means make your life easier. We know our dd would never use it and so we never bothered last year and won't again this year.princess:
