I am going to go next June for 7 nights. I plan on getting the hopper with water parks and more options. Also I will be getting the dining plan with one counter service and one table service meal. It we be my son, wife and myself.

If I book today and give them $2,000 to hold the room what are the chances I will get a pin code?

Seems to me I will never get one of I book a room. They know I am coming so why give me a discount.

Any advise??

number one, you only need a 200 deposit and then the rest isn't due until i think 45 days before travel. and you may still apply any pin or gp discount that comes out prior to that time.

Ok, I understand that. I am worried as soon as they see I have booked they will not email me a pin code? If I was in their shoes I wouldn't. LOL

Where are you planning to stay? I would not book that far out b/c you may not get a pin.

From what I can see, there's no rationale between getting a pin code and being booked already. For example, I had a client book with a kids free discount. It saved her around $500 and she paid in full at the time of booking. You'd think they would be last people who would get a pin code, right? About 6 weeks before they travelled, she got a free dining pin; they were already signed up for the base plan. We applied that code and she saved another $300 or so.

I just don't think the system for issuing codes is that smart. I know a person who gets about one a month, but I've had maybe 3 in the last 4 years?

I receive pins fairly regularly. We are frequently booked for a reservation when I receive a pin. One has absolutely NOTHING to do with the other. I don't know what the magic secret is to getting pins, I'm just glad I'm on the receiving side of them. If you want to go, and know for certain, then book. A package is fully refundable 45 days prior to check-in and a room only reservation is fully refundable 5 days prior to check-in.

And, please, please, please make sure you want that dining plan!! It isn't always as good as a deal as it sounds, especially looking at 2012 prices.

IMO go ahead & book for next June. I booked for July 2012 already. I used AAA for now and if a better discount comes out my TA will apply it to our reservation. Last year we booked a trip for Nov w/o a discount and then received one later. I'd rather have my resort picked already. Also, I ran the numbers for the dining plan. It works out to be about 30-40 a day for 2 adults & 3 kids, (our youngest will be 3 on the next trip.) I think that really isn't that bad. Plus we enjoy one table meal a day. I really don't want CS for all my meals. (Also, I just spent $26 at Burger King the other day & that wasn't even in a resort and was only one meal) I know the reg. DP doesn't include 3 meals a day. But we drive, so we pack cereal, 3 bowls & 3 spoons. We're all content on having that for breakfast in the room and getting out to the parks. Also, if we have a character breakfast, it's so filling that we don't need lunch, just a snack. I think it really depends on your family and whether or not it is worth it.

Thanks, I will book today.

The dining plan worked out to $51.54 per person, per night for 2012!! Also with a 12 YO boy getting charged as an adult it seems steep to me too.

OTOH it's nice to have it all paid for upfront and it is going to make us have a TS meal each night when we would not if we did not have it. Plus we have not seen the 2012 menu prices yet and I bet they bring the price back inline.:confused3

We will also drive so we can eat off sight but I don't think we will. I would rather pay a little more and eat there.

Well I already answered my own question.

I booked in the POR standard view in a princess room. (they will be only a few weeks old when we get there) We really want 2 queens and worry they will book up soon because they are new.

Anyway I just recived a PIN code. It is of no help for our booked vacation but they do send them after booking no problem.

To the poster above, PIN CODES are discount codes.
