I booked for a Disney Cruise in July and have a few questions.
My family will arrive in Florida a day before the cruise date in the evening.

Will we be able to visit the Disney world at night?

For a party of 7 including 2 little kids, what kind of transportation would you recommend, from MCO to hotel, from hotel to Port Canaveral, and from Port Canaveral to MCO?

Thanks.

Ed

Hi edhcoe, Welcome to the DIS boards.

Need a little more info from you to help you out. What time you arrive and where you are staying will determine if you have time to any of the World. Also what park did you have in mind to visit. Animal Kingdom closes earlier than the the others. Check on Disney.com for park hour during your stay.

About your transportation: Go Shopping... I would check with Mears transportation if your not in the mood to drive yourself around. But if you are then I would look into renting a large van from Budget or Avis these 2 companies have offices very close to the port and they offer shuttle service to and from the port. You can get a one day rental, mostly likely this would be your cheapest bet. You could call around to some of the Limo service companies in Orlando to get rates or see if they will give you some kind of special deal.

Have you given any thought to staying close to the port the night before and skipping WDW. Somewhere like the Radisson at Port Canaveral. It's a great place with a big pool for the kids and adults to relax in. They offer a shuttle service to and from the port and there is a Avis office next door if you decide to rent a van. Just a suggestion.

and had a wonderful experience with them! They picked my family and my inlaws up at the MCO airport at midnight and drove us to the Poly, Picked us up at the AKL on Sunday morning and took us back to the Poly to get our luggage, then off to the ship, then they picked all 7 of us up at the ship, took my inlaws luggage to a Holiday Inn near the airport, took us all to the POR hotel, picked my inlaws up at 10 that night at the POR resort, took them to the Holiday Inn and then picked my family back up 2 days later at POR and took us to the MCO Airport and all for only a few hundred dollars! It was SO nice to have our own private transportation and we could set when to leave and everything! I would suggest going to www.yourride.net and get a quote! Rabbit and his crew are SO nice and we are going to use them again when we go in May!!!! We had 4 adults and 3 children and they had a car seat for my 3 year old and everything! The really nice thing is that getting your own transportation you can tell them when you want to leave so that you go on the kids time or your time rather than someone else's time AND you usually get to go by yourself. Our party of 7 went in a big van and it was so nice!!
Hope this helps!

Try Cartier Towncar. The provide great service. It is direct with no stops. They can suggest the type of vehicle that is appropriate, but a ten passenger limo or a private van would probably do the trick. It is a great way to begin and end a vacation.

Hi Ed.

You COULD visit WDW at night but why bother? You're arriving in the evening and sailing the following day. Either hire a towncar service to take you to The Radisson upon arrival or stay at the airport Hyatt and relax. Take a swim. Have a late meal. The next day is going to be emotionally fulfilling/draining. You'll love it, yes. But you love it EVEN MORE after a good night's rest...
