Where does the boat let you off at DD and where would we catch the bus coming back? (if we opt not to take the boat back of course)

And how long of a boat ride is it........ and how long of a bus ride is it!

Thanks bunches!

The boat drops you off by Cap'n Jacks and Rainforest Cafe. It generally takes about 10-15 min by boat and if memory serves, the bus was about the same. Take the boat if at all possible. It is a wonderful, relaxing ride and my kids loved it. There are 3 bus stops at DD. There is one over by Once upon a Toy Store, another by Pleasure Island and the most remote over by Westside (don't know if this is still being used or not).

It leaves you off near the Rainforest Restaurant. The bus station is behind the 2 R's.

We took the boat one time, I'd say it was 15 or 20 minutes, its a nice scenic ride. We took the bus back because it was past 9:30 (I think that's the last one), it took 30 to 45 minutes because the bus waited awhile to leave, stopped at PI, waited awhile, stopped at West Side, waited awhile...... I don't think they are using the West Side stop anymore.

If you have a dinner PS, make sure you leave enough time, the boat only holds 10 or 12, when we went we didn't get on the first one that came and had to wait another 15 or 20 minutes.

Not a problem....... us girls are hitting DD early (around 2 or 3) then the guys and the kids will meet us there for dinner...... They will prolly take the vans and park, since getting back from DD can sometimes be a pain!

Thanks for the info!

Another vote for the boat ride. I just took it a week ago and I loved it. But since I'd read such glowing recommendations on the one at POR and then was disappointed when I tried it, I expected to be disappointed here too. But I loved it! And seats are so big and comfy.

The boat rides do not start at OKW until 12:00 noon.I think the last one leaves DD at around 9:30 pm.:D

They'd better be using the Westside stop. We're going to Cirque next month, and I don't plan on hitchiking back to OKW.;)

YO, TAXI!!!!!!!!!!!! :p :p :p

I think you would have to use the Pleasure Island stop, which is close to West Side (by Planet Hollywood). Ask if they are using West Side again. I know they stopped last year, not too many people were waiting there since it was at the far end.

How long does it take you to walk a mile and a half?? Walking back is another option during the day if you find yourself on the West Side. It is a beautiful walk and would problably take you just a little longer then waiting for the bus or the boat.

At least last night the busses are not stoping at the stop at West Side. The last boat departs for OKW at 9:40 PM.

Hope this helps you all out. We are here now and really enjoying things all though it could be warmer.

No bus stop at Westside last week either, you had to walk to PI, not easy at the end of a long day!! Loved the OKW boat. At night its even nicer, though I don't know how the captain sees where he's going!

Did someone say the WALK word?

Here's how it works. You happily walk 1000 miles all over the parks, but you absolutely should not be expected to walk more than 5 feet at your resort to get to:

a. Your room
b. The main pool
c. A restaurant
d. Disney transportation
e. The Ice Machine
f. Your car
g. Guest Services

:p ;) :p ;) :p ;)

And it looks like I'll be hailing a cab.:)
