You may have noticed I haven't been on the boards lately...
Well, nothing has happened on the boards to chase me away, the real world has simply caught up.
A little over a month ago, there were terrible floods in our area, and while my house was spared, I was busy digging trenches through my front yard. I wasn't in danger from the nearby river , the house is on the "high bank", but normal run off - it rained and rained and rained. Water was up to the porch, but did not get in the house.
A week or so after the flood, Mom was talking with her friend, Flo, who went to WDW with us in January and Vegas in April. We had planned to pick Flo up the next day for lunch and shopping in San Antonio. While we were getting redy to leace for our shopping spree we got a call that Flo has a seizure and was in the hospital, everyone was shocked to find out that Flo has terminal cancer of the brain, lungs, pancreas, and liver. While she was in good spirits, she has begun the unavoidable downward spiral and has lost control of her right side and can not speak above a whisper. It is taking her quickly, and she isn't in pain so far, but the closest relatives she has are her late husband's nephew in San Antonio, her blood relatives are all in northern Canada...so we look in on her as much as we can in addition to looking after my 96 years old great-aunt and there just isn't time for everything. I check my e-mail and my necessary internet stuff like banking and bill paying, but just haven't had the time for the fun stuff. I'll be back after things calm down and life gets back to semi-normal. I haven't forgotten the DIS or the wonderful people here and I'm looking forward having time to browse and post again. Until then, I'll check-in from time to time.
