To all you Northeners....

If you could move south to escape the north cold winters where would you move to? I would love to move to So Cali but do not think we could afford it. My second choice would be the west coast of Florida.

I was born and raised in Pennsylvania, its where my whole family is... But I hate, hate, hate the cold! The worst is driving in the snow, ick. So, when I decided to be a nanny, I looked for jobs in all the southern states, lol! I've since lived in both North and South Carolina (currently in North) and love it here!! We still see leaves change, and there is still cold and some snow (last year we had got 8 inches the day after Christmas) but it doesn't stay miserable cold... I would never move back up north, ever again! Lol! I want to go further south actually.... :)

I would love to move to San Diego area. We have always talked about moving to Florida when we get old and retire, but alas, the combination of heat/humidity can be really a bummer!

My ideal life would be Seattle area in the Summer/early fall, and then Florida in the winter.

I'm a former northerner, I hope it's OK if I chime in. Born & raised a northerner my whole life but we moved to the gulf coast last year and I love it here. I'd never move back home. I like having 2 seasons, mild and HOT HOT HOT! I hate everything about October - March back north...the chilly falls, gray & dreary winters, thick ice and snow that makes your commute to work totally heck-ish. Here I can actually enjoy the holiday season. For Halloween, we don't have to wear jackets. At Christmas everything is still green and pretty and I don't have to wear an ugly, tacky sweater ;) I'm pretty sure last year on Thanksgiving day I made a trip to CVS to get some T-day deals and I had on my tank top & sunglasses with the sunroof on my car open as I drove along the beachfront. That had never happened before in my life! Thanksgiving is always spent shivering under a blanket in front of a football game on TV.

I am a NY girl born and raised but I would love to move down south to South Carolina or North Carolina. You still get a taste of the seasons with out the awful snow.

Now thats what I am talking about!!:cool1: Where are you? If you don't mind me asking?

This....this.......this and i dont even know where she is :lmao: Thats almost like a dream and the kind of place i'd like to be, warm and hot hot hot.......

Actually i'll take anywhere that has no cold and snowy winter, prefer somewhere along the gulf of Mexico or coast.

DH and I have talked about moving to North or South Carolina after he retires, but I don't know if I can live without the seasons. I love the snow and in the north, they know how to clear it quickly and people know how to drive in it. So, the jury is still out. If I didn't care about being close to our children, I would love to live part of the year in St Croix. Absolutely beautiful there!

I'm from Rochester, ny and moved to nc 11 years ago for a job. I wouldn't go back! We have 3 1/2 seasons here - spring, summer, fall and a mini winter. We always have some cold weeks, and some years it snows once or twice. This past year we even got snow on Christmas! But the cold is over very quickly and we are back to nice weather. The summer can get HoT but I'd rather deal with that than snow, snow, snow for months on end.

I can't live without seasons, so unless a job forced us to move, I can't see myself ever choosing to live in the South.

:thumbsup2

I can't handle the critters that come with living in the south. Snakes, spiders, gators, palmetto bugs..........no way.

:thumbsup2

Although come February, I am longing for warmth, sun, capri's, etc....I would never leave MN for the south. Not with the reptiles, bugs, arachnids, etc. I get heat and humidity enough here from May - September. That's more than enough to me!

I would hate holidays to be warm and sunny. To me Christmas needs to be cold and white, and T-day needs to involve hoodies and cold noses while PLAYING football outside.

If I was forced to move south, I would probably choose....Iowa!!

I wouldn't I love the 4 seasons. I wouldn't mind moving to Colorado. But if I had to pick I would choose Tenn or Kentucky.

Kae

I'm native to KY and have lived in E.KY, S.KY, & N.W.KY. It's cold wet winters. I also have live in TN, it was wet and cold too. I'm flattered you would choose KY and I fear wherever you are in Indiana it must have horrible winters! As you can tell I am a wimp when it comes to winter! :-P
