To all you multiple DVC qwners out there

i have been considering an add on but since I have omly stayed at a couple Dvc's I am trying to hold out till I have stayed at some more.

I no allot of you own at almost all the resorts ( I no your out there DVC Mike). I know they all have a certain charm about them; like BCV has the gtreat pool, wlv is great during the holidays, BWV has the excitement of the boardwalk, AKL has the "Animals", SSR and OKW has the peaceful setting and DTD.

But if the new "RULE" tomorrow is you can only own ONE which would it be and why? I no this is a hard one.I didn't mention BLT because its not really open yet to consider.

If for some reason DVC told us that we would have to pool all our points into one resort and can only own at that one. I would choose BCV. We love the SALB and location, location, location. We also own at AKV and VB.

I hope this never happens since we like the idea of having home resort priority with the other resorts.

If we had to start over today and buy only at one home resort, we'd probably buy all of our points at VGC.

That way we'd be able to book accomodation at the tiny VGC resort in DL on the 11-month window and we'd also be able to use the same points at a WDW DVC resort on the 7-month window. (We are flexible about what WDW DVC resorts we book and most times we are able to get resorts other than our home resorts.)

We also plan on living longer than 2042, so having a resort like VGC with a 2060 expiry date is really appealing to us!

I agree! If we could only have one WDW DVC resort, it would be the one and only original resort, OKW! We are in so in love with it, we jumped at the 15-year extension offer and are thrilled to now have it to 2057.

I own at all 10 DVC resorts. But if I had to choose just one, it would have to be OKW!

I think the answer you are looking for is. You don't have to stay at all the resorts to figure out which one you'd like to own at. Durning a stay go shopping, go to each of the resorts and walk around.

I suspect you'll find that one of the resorts "speaks" to you. We own at DAKV, because the only 2 resorts that "spoke" to us was VWL, and DAKV. At the time, VWL was resale/waiting list though Disney, and DAKV wasn't available yet, DVD was only selling SSR (but DAKV was announced.)

We told our guide that we would buy into DAKV the second he could sell it to us. I ended up calling him, because I don't think he knew we where serious, when we said we wanted to buy as soon as we could. But it all worked out and we are on the Tapestry as Founding Members.

But I don't think STAYING at the resort is as important as walking around, and getting a feel for the resort, visit the pool area, visit the dining, visit the lobby etc... Even though they are all O/O by Disney, the resorts have different feels, and character. If you are mostly a Disney Transportation person when you are down there, then use the transport from your favorite park to the resort.

I guess what I'm saying is your question, is a bit like I'll decide where I want to eat after I sampled all the options, my way to do it is more like just looking at the menus. If you don't like burgers, then you can eliminate MickyD's and BK.

Yes DVC is a lot of money, more than a bad meal. But you can also have a bad stay at a resort you like. And I think in an hour or so walking around you can get a feel if this resort fits you.

Although it is not open, BLT would be my choice. I only bought in to DVC because of BLT. MK is my favorite park and I love the fact that I can walk to/from it. I almost always stay at the Contemporary so when BLT was announced, I knew it was time to be a DVC member.

I am so excited and can't wait to stay there in December!!!

I no what you are saying. I have stayed at BCV a couple times and did love it there. I love the whole Boardwalk atmosphere there. But i have never stayed at BWV so I am wondering if I would like it as much there.

Than my daughter threw a wrench in the picture by staying at VWL and telling me how nice it was there getting the boat to MK. I no I am not like others, I will only be able to do one more add on. Decisions, decisions.

It doesn't matter where we would stay. What matters is where you love to stay. That's one thing about the DVC resorts, there's something for everybody, now you just have to find yours.

I think if we had to pick only one DH and I would have to get a divorce. We do a lot of split stays on our trips.

Assuming I was forced to choose between BWV and SSR, I'd choose BWV. My son perfers it to SSR and he's the sole heir to the points some day.
