what kind of dress are you wearing? Im not sure I want to go with the expense of a wedding dress, but I AM renewing at Disney soooo I don't know what I what I should do....Suggestions?

Ross has great dresses try there im goning to go all out because my weddings was pretty small

well we had it the other way around....I WANTED something small but my hubby's family is ginormous so it wasnt possible, so hubby told me our 5 year anniversary I can do the renewal MY way....

I wore a cocktail length dress for our vow renewal. It was platinum colored with some beading detail around the waist.

I'm going with a wedding dress, it is fairly simple with a beaded sash around the waist. We didn't have a wedding the first time around so I have no wedding pictures to cherish so I wanted to be sure to wear an actual wedding dress this time. I do hear of a lot of people wearing tea length dresses. If you want to save money try looking at bridesmaids dresses. They have some beautiful ones and more are under $200 (on Davidsbridal.com at least) and many come in ivory, champagne, or even white. Happy shopping!

I am not sure that I can be a vast amount of help because, like bluejasmine, I went all out with my recent VR. I didn't have the wedding (or the dress) I wanted the first time around and so I was determined that I would have it this time.
You don't need to spend a fortune on a traditional wedding dress though. There are many sites on Ebay and such, which have dresses at very reasonable prices and you could always look for a previously loved dress.
I adored my dress and wore it all day on my VR day and then wore it again a few days later for our TTD session with Randy. It is now cleaned and hanging in my wardrobe looking as good as new!!

Here I am in my beloved dress

Don't have a picture of me in it yet, but here's mine:

We're celebrating our Silver Anniversary, so that's the "theme" we decided to go with. DH will be wearing a black tux with silver vest/tie.

I was going to wear my original wedding dress, but ended up falling in love with one I found on ebay. The seller was called Aprile Nicole and she refurbishes sample dresses. Mine cost $90 and is gorgeous. It has some beading and a nice sized train. Nothing over the top, so I think it's still suitable for a vow renewal. I won't wear a veil, just silver Minnie ears. Her shipping was quick. Overall a great purchase!

Like one of the PP DH and I didn't have a big wedding when we got married (we went to the courthouse) so we're going all out on our VR.
In fact, we found my dress yesterday :goodvibes

Unlike most of the VR brides, we did have a full wedding the first time. There are just some things that we cheaped out on and didn't love that we would love to redo this time.

One of them was my dress. My first dress I bought when I was engaged in college to someone else. My mother saw me try it on when I bought it. Sadly, before the wedding was called off, my mother died very suddenly. When Paul and I became engaged, he wanted me to wear the dress since my mom had seen me in it. Ten years later, it was not a dress I would have chosen, but found a seamstress to change it to make it more wearable. It was lovely and I looked good in it, but not the wow factor I hoped for.

For our VR next year, I decided I wanted the dress that makes me go Wow! I wanted tea length and when I did a google search, I found the wow dress, the Isadora Ann by Maggie Sottero.

I knew the minute I saw her, that she would be mine. :lovestruc

Hope that helps.

That dress is gorgeous Bethie! Made me say Wow too!

I have found several sites online for custom wedding gowns that are very very reasonable but be sure and google for reviews before placing any orders. I havent ordered mine yet, Im still looking.

I need the custom fit b/c Im 4'11 and 1/2(had to add the half) and apple shaped so its hard to have dresses fit right..

Unbelievably DH is actually looking online at wedding dresses giving his input, w/o me even asking! I knew I had the right man! LOL

DH & I celebrated our 20th this past April and went with a Hawaiian theme. So I found online (from Hawaii) matching outfits. The whole thing (including shipping) came to just over $100 (I think). Here's ours (and the design was also on the back of our outfits):

We are renewing our vows for our 20th anniversary at the Swan later this year. This is the dress I'm going to be wearing:

I absolutely love it! I'm going to have a floral and rhinestone headband, no veil. Dh will be wearing this with an ivory vest and ivory tapestry tie:

@Pixie 921 - OMG! That was one of the dresses I tried on and LOVED and was going to get for our VR; (before we decided on the Hawaiian themed ones).
