i desperately need your help/advice on how to relieve menstrual cramps.

what are your methods?

im about to die over here!

i find lying in a fetal position in bed helps alot with those warmed up gel pad thingies over your belly :-D

Ibprofen (aka Advil or Motrin) works the best for me.
Heating pads work too.

If they are continuously really bad, maybe try and go on birth control. Certain ones help with severe cramps.

Take midol, or a NSAID drug. Curl up in the fetal position with a heating pad.

Or take birth control pill. That helped me.

heating pad, thats what i meant haha i couldnt put a name it it :-P

i also find crying helps too.. helps get all ya pain out

I've always wet a rag, and then stick it in the microwave for a couple seconds, that usually helps but it wasn't doing anything for me today.

I took some Motrin, and that seemed to really help.

About the birth control, I have an appointment July 20th to get it.

So no one here has ever tried exercise?

im against birth control so Id never get it but whatever suits you

The last thing I want to do when I'm cramping is exercise. :)

It honeslty help though. About a year ago my aunt told me to go for a jog when I had menstrual cramps, and I finally did. It helped so much and just made me feel better in genral.

Menstrual cramps are different then regualr cramps. All Im saying is to try it, it works.

No exercising for me. It might work for some girls, but NOT me. lol.

I'm already as lazy as it gets, I definitely don't feel like working out right now.

Not to start a big controversy but.. may I ask why you are against birth control? Just curious.

I'm just not gonna go there, I'll send you a private message:)

actually exercise helps me. . .more specifically volleyball.

but i don't usually get excruitiating(sp?) cramps so i wouldn't really know. . .?

i highly recommend Desogen (generic is Apri). i used to have horribly heavy periods (i'd bleed through a regular tampon in an hour. i had to wear tampons and pads) and my periods would last like a whole week. with Apri, they last at most 2-3 days and are VERY light.

it also didn't make me crazy like other birth control pills i've tried (loEstri24fe is HORRIBLE. i cried over commercials for three months)

Exercise helps but it can make your flow heavy (more so than normal) so be ready for that...
