To all my DIS friends who have lost loved ones..

Oh my Deb, that is intriguing!

Eros, I'm not sure exactly what happens when we die but I do have my own beliefs and I don't think that we simply turn into dust. I also believe that expecting an afterlife is very comforting for many people and your theories threaten that comfort in a way. Life is very complex and often difficult so I think that any comfort we can find is a good thing.

Just some thoughts. Lovely quotation by the way. :D

RNMOM, if you're RIGHT, and some of my DIS "buddies" end up following me to HELL , then I hope that they aren't among the members who have me on their IGNORE LIST:cool:   . Gee, I'd hate to be IGNORED............for ETERNITY:p :p :p :p :p .......

Deb, I am sorry to here of your BIL accident. Amazing story about his travels... wow. I grew up on a farm, saw many farmers as patients in PT, always at least one auger accident a year..( in fact my dad almost lost both hands in a combine accident) Farmers are pretty tough fella's, I am sure your BIL is too. I hope his recovery is swift and complete as possible.
BTW:
Does anybody think that Eros could EVER be ignored?? ;)

NO! Eros could not be ignored Mamajoan.

Eros is the spice in our lives. ;)

A beautiful sentiment, RNMOM. Thanks.

RNMOM - that holds true for me - I find myself talking to the stars when they are out - helps me feel better sometimes.

In fact, for me it's gotten to the point where I'll read something in a thread and think....uh-oh...EROS is gonna have something to say about THAT! :teeth: :teeth: :teeth:

You know folks, I bet Eros is just a big puppy dog of a guy that wouldn't hurt a fly. He just likes to make us think he is a difficult fellow. :p :p ;)

Very nice.

In the future though, use the term INUIT . Eskimo is not an appropriate term.

I received a catalog today from Marshall Fields and found this in a framed print and thought it was so beautiful and spoke to me. I hope it helps you also.

An Eskimo legend:

"Perhaps they are not stars in the sky, but rather openings where our loved ones shine down to let us know they are happy."

Thanks for this legend RNMOM. It's a happy thought and surely will comfort someone who has lost someone they love.

Cotye, I did not know that "Eskimo' was not PC.. Can you tell me how to pronounce INUIT? What is it's origin. Thanks for the info. Joan

Joan, no worries. It's pronounced. IN-YOU-IT. :) HTH!!

I just know I've been corrected myself a few times by my own friends. :)

Coyote,

I wrote it word for word from the catalog and am not responsible for the use of the word eskimo.
