TNA Wrestling

We will be at Universal the weekend of the August12th and 13th. My 13 yo DS is a huge wrestling fan and I thought I might surprise him with the live taping on the 13th. Just a few questions for those who have seen the show. Is this on the same league as WWE? If not will my son still enjoy it? If the doors open at 6 pm what time should we get there to get in line? How long is the show?

Whether or not it's as good as WWE depends on what you want from a wrestling show. I personally find the pure wrestling ability of many TNA wrestlers to be superior to that of WWE's current crop. The action is much more engaging, especially in-person. TNA, however, is nowhere near the spectacle WWE is. It's a small, intimate show with a more straight-forward product. A lot less bells & whistles. It's basically for people who watch wrestling for the wrestling itself. I can't say the same for WWE these days.

I'm not really sure how long normal tapings are. I know pay-per-views last three hours. This has become a popular thing to attend, and the soundstage doesn't seat many people. It's first come, first serve. You'll want to be there and ready to wait a couple hours before it's scheduled to begin.

Thanks for the info! I was going to be asking this question nearer our trip in October as DH is a wrestling fan, too!

I was also going to ask this question! We're also going in October, and are thinking of seeing one of the Monday night tapings. I read on the TNA website that doors open at 6pm (show at 6:45) but no mention of how early people get in line to get seats.
