I just have to get this vent out there, because OMG I feel like AF (Aunt Flo) is coming but she never seems to arrive. I feel like I've had PMS for a month now. My back hurts, my hips hurt, even my knees hurt, and I feel really crampy. I have PCOS, and I thought that after DS5mos was born, I thought maybe, somehow that AF would return back to semi-normal. My last period was Dec 4th... so I'm on day 52? 53? I'm not pregnant (nor do I want to be ever again!) and I know this is just my PCOS acting up but it sure is *annoying*. I just wish that this cycle would end and I'd stop feeling like I'm having PMS! Grrr!

Just had to vent.

Ugh. I'm sorry to hear that. :( I keep having PMS symptoms too... thankfully still no AF since the baby was born (in July).... but I keep waiting for her to show when it is least convenient. I hope you feel better soon.

I have 2 friends with PCOS and it sounds like a terrible condition to live with, I really hope you feel better.

If you're certain you don't want more children, ask your dr about the novasure procedure. Had this a year ago and love it! It's freeing!

As a fellow PCOS sufferer, I feel your pain. I regularly go 4-5 months between cycles.

It's frustrating when you have all the symptoms of PMS, but not the "outcome", so to speak. :)

oooh boy, Twice in my life have I felt life aunt flo was arriving any minute/second .... but she never showed. B:eek:OTH> TIMES I was pregnant!!

HUGS

I have PCOS and my periods are now regular, but I bleed very heavily for four to five days and the pain is just horrible....my whole body just hurts.

I used to not bleed for months and then I would bleed FOR MONTHS. HORRIBLE!

I have been thinking about getting a hysterectomy so I do not have to deal with it anymore, but I worry that will come with a new set of problems.:sad1:

I had this problem and started taking saw palmetto. It has been life changing. I also changed my diet and I guess the saw palmetto has helped me lose weight. Maybe you could research it and see if it would help. Its an awful thing to have to deal with! I certainly understand your frustration.

I completely understand! I have PCOS and endometriosis. I have constant cramping pretty much 365 days per year and no birth control has been able to eliminate the cysts so I still get them, just not as big.

I have about another 20 years or so before a hysterectomy is even an option and about another 30-40 years until normal menopause would probably ever happen.

PCOS is so hard to live with sometimes! I am in my mid 40's and going to seeing a doctor about a hysterectomy soon.

My periods actually regulated themselves somewhat after DD was born, but they were very heavy and painful so I got on the pill (this was due to fibroids in addition to PCOS). Then, suddenly, last year my life turned into yours - months of bleeding! I had my hysterectomy in December and there may be new problems ahead of me, but right now I feel like I made the right choice. :thumbsup2

what's that?

An alternative to hysterectomy. Also called uterine ablation, they cauterize your uterus, rendering your female parts nonfunctioning but still there. So although I still have all my "parts," I no longer have periods or PMS or anything. It's so nice!!!!!!!! And it's outpatient.

I tested just to be sure last week, thankfully I had one test laying around from TTC. Thankfully negative! (DS is 4.5 months) Unfortunately, ridiculously long cycles are fairly normal for me. :headache:

My hormones must be a *mess*. I cried this morning, out of nowhere, and I. want. chocolate!!

So it takes care of the hormonal crap? Like the neverending cycles, the mysterious vanishing period, the aching bloatyness? Give me 2 years to make sure I'm 100% done having kids and sign me up!

I had a laporoscopy done last November, so it'll probably be similar, right? Like go in in the morning, have the surgery, leave about an hour or two after, and you're done?

why? :confused3

Are you opposed to going on the pill? It should alleviate the symptoms.

I try to manage mine as holistically as possible and this is going to sound totally absurd. But for me it works. I went from erratic to regular 28-32 day cycles when I went lower carb in terms of diet. I find that if I'm eating processed starch heavy for a period of time that's when my cycle goes haywire.

It also worked on some of those lovely cosmetic symptoms as well. I actually have a defined waste and not that lovely round middle.

Because I am only 21. If I have my way, I would be completely done having a family by the time I am in my 30s (so probably more like 15 years) so after that I would consider a hysterectomy but until I have the family I want, a hysterectomy is not an option. Since everything else looks okay, my doctor would never consider doing it until I have the kids I want because she knows I would regret it.
