I just read in the paper this morning about the cutbacks for flights to Orlando, so I hopped on the internet to see if my flights had been cancelled. Sure enough, my flight departing on 9/18 was cancelled, as well as my return flight on 9/22. They are refunding my money but what good does that do me at this late date?? I am on the phone with United to see what they can do for me.
When I finally got through to customer service I asked when I would have found out if I hadn't read it in the paper and called, and she said within 10 days of my flight. I pointed out to her that we were actually 8 days from my flight, but she said that due to the high volume of calls they haven't been able to work through everyone yet. I asked her if she thought the high volume of calls was any indication of the BAD business decision TMA made and she didn't say anything.
I've just moved to Syracuse from a Southwest hub. The non-stop flight coupled with the morning departure and evening return made TMA the obvious option for me, especially since I am accustomed to the same from Southwest. TMA will never receive any future business from me. I think they handled this in an extremely poor manner - they should have found a new flight for me that worked with my schedule.
This trip is to celebrate Christmas with my family (my parents and sister) as they now live in FL and DH and I are in NY. I work FT at TDS so I will not have any further time off until after the holidays. I cannot change my departure dates due to my retail work schedule. You can bet that I will be passing my negative experience on to my guests at TDS...TMA has not impressed me at all. How could anyone book a flight with confidence, knowing that the flight could be cancelled so close to departure??
I found a flight that worked for me on United...hopefully they will not let me down.
DO NOT USE TMA!!
