TKers: Ten Times the Trouble!

oh JO--I meant to say that I got a notebook today--15.6". But Target next week is going to have a 10.1 netbook on sale for $249 with a $30 gift card if you're more in a market for a netbook...

I have a 10 yr warrenty on the parts and 1 yr of free labor. It is just a pain. It's 81 in the house already and I have to sleep here??? I hope someone calls and takes a survey on customer satisfaction!

M...go onto your local Angie's list and write up a review. Even with your one year of free labor, I wouldn't recommend them to anyone else! And write a letter of complaint to the main office. They need to be notified of their shoddy practices...

I don't know what Angie's List is but I second writing to the higher ups at the company. They really sound careless and that is something that needs to be fixed.

MK, Jackie says she wants a notebook but I'm thinking more of netbook for now. She would only use it for facebook and emailing. The rest...school work, downloading pics, etc would be done on our desktop. I'll have to talk to Curt.

I've been using my netbook and its pretty much has been satisfying my internet needs. The only issue I've been having is that the screen is too small for pages and I have scroll from left to right. Other than that, its been pretty satisfactory.

If you're going the netbook route, make sure you get one with a 6 cell battery--a three cell will be smaller, but you'll only get about 2-3 hours on a charge. My 6 cell gives me about 7 hours on a full charge as long as I don't use too many graphics like a movie.

Watch the page numbers Kitty. I found this from DL: How about "TKers-the 11th hour"? I like short titles.

Woke up at 4 and could not get back to sleep!

M&N I hope the repairmen are there by now.

I woke up at 4:30 thinking we would be getting up for our vacation if the trailer had not broke. :sad1: Oh well, next week.

Evening. We went out to dinner to what use to be our favorite chinese buffet. Last time we will be going there. The food sucked and they got rid of alot of their chinese offerings and added more seafood. And not even good seafood. Thank goodness we had a coupon or I would have been pissed.

MK, I'll have to remember about the 6 cell battery. The longer the battery lasts will be much better so I don't have to listen to the kids complain.

Good morning ladies! Its been a bit cooler here lately in the mornings, but the afternoons have been glorious!

Spent the day yesterday with the twins. They're starting their senior year in college in a few weeks. Mom takes them back to school shopping every August. Mostly coz they're both cheapies like us and they wear their clothes until they become rags. Had fun running around with them. Then went back to my brother's house for dinner and a "fashion show". It took nearly an hour for him to pick a pair of sneakers, but nephew is well in love with them. Thank goodness! I felt so sorry for the salesgirl, putting up with my picky boy.

The twins were amazed about just how many coupons there are out there. Nephew was teasing me at Target--what you have Target coupons too? Heck yeah! Even a coupon for ice cream at Baskin Robbins...his sneakers, their jeans, even socks. Lunch at TGIFridays...there's a coupon for everything!

Yesterday was also the two year anniversary of my nephew's stabbing. It was quite humbling to celebrate, but we do. Although things haven't been settled with the guy who did it, with time, we're just happy that my nephew is healthy without any residual effects. We're all just thankful to be together.

Still haven't opened up the other laptop yet. Afraid I'll open it and fall in love and won't be able to return it if need be.

Finished the Kingdom Keepers last night. Now I have to wait for the next one??? Ack!

Let's have a good day ladies!

I think we were looking at - TKers - Still posting in the 11th Hour. Right?

Kitty - on your nephew's rebirth day. I remember you posting about that day like it was yesterday.

The only bargains I got this week were all school supplies...

.20 erasers .90 10pk markers
.15 notebooks & folders .20 24pk crayons
.75 wide lined paper 150ct
.50 3pack glue sticks

Not huge deals, but saved a ton non the less. :yay:

Good rainy afternoon, ladies. today is a complete washout, but I don't mind too much. Last night I was just feeling blah, as evidenced by the chocolate ice cream and Hallmark movies that entertained me. but feeling much perkier today as evidenced by the three feet of hair flowing down my back!

I found a flat iron on clearance (bien sur) and decided to fire that bad boy up. Used some deep conditioner on my hair and some shine serum and set out. about half way, my arms were seriously tired, but rather than dealing with a half straight, half curly do I persevered through it and I am quite pleased with the result. I'll probably never do it again.

Finished my Kingdom Keepers and have returned to reading Game of Thrones. think I did need the break from it. Feel enchanted by the storyline and characters again. About 3/4 through the first book, have 5 more tomes to go!

Big Brother, True Blood and Breaking Bad tonight, so I'm super excited for it. Gosh, I'm such a geek....

:rotfl2:
I can't believe it's been 2 years since that incident. I'm glad your nephew is doing well.
We will be leaving for our vacation on Friday unless another disaster hits according to my DH. We'll see. :scratchin

Good rainy, soggy, blech morning ladies! yes, the weather has not let up. In retaliation, I'm making chili for dinner. Have all the ingredients, just need to let it cook itself to yummy!

I can't believe its the start of school for some of you already. My kids here have two more weeks until college, three weeks until high school. What a strange summer its been.

Darn golf! some championship ran late last night, pushing everything back an hour. So Big Brother was on at the same time as True Blood... have to catch up on that tonight.

Still no news on the sickly laptop. Too scared to call up and inquire. Looked at the flyers yesterday, didn't see anything that struck my fancy yet. Ugh.

Kathy, have all the hotel reservations set now? How far are you driving that first day?

let's have a good day ladies!

DL---Leaving Friday....when will you be back? You know we worry when we don't know where you are or when you will be back! I am supposing you will not be able to post??? I certainly do hope nothing else goes wrong.

Kitty---Time sure goes fast. Hard to believe it was 4 years ago that you were concerned about the twins off to college and then that horrible attack. You need to call about that computer...you could be loving the new one. Now you are just in limbo. I want to know when the next Kindgom Keepers comes out too. BB is sure getting exciting. Mom thought they had the HOH rigged.

D&D---maybe if you checked here more often, you would have gotten the reminder! :rolleyes1 FB is just too confusing at times for such things.

JO---I know I read about this on fb but did not see if you answered this. How was dd's experience working with dad? And how is Livvie doing with giving up the kitties?

I had a great weekend in MD. We went to Cumberland and rode a steam engine train to Frostburg and the deisel took us back. We ate on the train. It was about an hour each way. The rain did not hinder what we did. Lots of fun.

A lot of the schools have started around here.

DH was watching that stupid golf. :happytv:

All reservations are set. Originally we would be getting back on the 2nd but now will be back on the 1st. Our first day we are going to Colorado Springs instead of Trinidad. That should be an extra hour or so. Without the trailer we can go a bit faster. After that we plan to do sightseeing along the way. Normally we get to our campground and use that as a base for sightseeing. It's going to feel weird not to be camping. I did notice a couple of the motels did offer free WIFI so we will bring the laptop but I can't promise to remember to post. A lifetime of being disconnected while on vacation you know. ;)

I didn't know you went to Maryland Martha! Sounds like a lovely time. Did you get super rained out?

Kathy, will it be easier or more difficult to pack without the camper? I do not like being disconnected while on vacation, but the hotel in Atlantic City wanted $13/day for internet! Heck no way! Are you visiting friends on the way? Or just stopping where it feels good?

It's easier without the camper. Just clothes, snacks and electronic doodads. The clothes will be in suitcases instead of drawers. Not visiting friends (most are back east ;)) I think we'll be stopping at historical spots. I know there is a place where you can see the wagon wheel ruts from the Oregon Trail. While in Rapid City we'll check out some of the caves in the area. We like to compare with our Carlsbad Caverns. :upsidedow Problem is DH says he'll stop for sightseeing but actually doing it :confused3.
