Hi all,

Dis' is doing about the same today - walking wise that is. Unfortunately, she developed some diarrhea over the night and I woke up to quite the mess. :crazy2: as I came down the stairs in the dark. What a way to start the day. Poor pup. Not sure what's going on now.

Kitty - If I don't get back on, I just want to wish you a great trip, Happy TG and safe return. We'll miss you. So proud of all you are doing over there. Give those kids a big hug from us and tell them your friends back in the states love them! :lovestruc

Whgrn - Welcome home! Glad you are doing well. So sorry about your BFF. Hope you can work things out.

LITC - Would love to come visit baby Walter (and you of course.) Maybe some day we can arrange for that. Or, you could bring him to WI for a nice summer vacation.

M&N - My DS7 is cheering for the Phillies and hoping they pull off two wins.

Wouldn't it be neat if we could all get web-cams and have a virtual get together??? Skype???? Maybe all have drinks and chat live??? Let's think about that:scratchin

Great idea! Everyone put a web cam on your Santa wish list!!!!!!

Good evening ladies. My last couple of days have sucked. Yesterday DH took DS to head out to get his driver's license. They had an appointment to be there at 3:00. Apparently they only have one person to give driving tests. As they start filling out paper work they discovered that the car insurance card was expired.... thanks to me. I had set the policy aside when it arrived to do some shopping for quotes and forgot to get the new cards in all our vehicles. Anyway, they call the insurance company to fax them a copy. Unfortunately, while they are waiting, they get swamped with people and end up having to go back today. So a pretty well wasted afternoon. They did at least find out that it may take up to 8 weeks to receive DS's license once he does actually pass the test. Um, that might be a problem. We leave for WDW in 28 days so how in the heck are we going to get him on the plane with no photo id? As all this is happening I happen to be still having problems adjusting to the new meds. I pretty much flipped out.... ended up in tears. After I regained my composure I started making phone calls. Finally spoke with the TSA who handle security at they airport. I was told that as long as he had a boarding pass they would let him on the plane BUT he would have to go through a secondary security screening which means we will have to arrive 2 hours early and he will have to be wanded, patted down and asked some security related questions. He said he is okay with that and will probably laugh about it when it's all said and done. By the end of the evening I was so stressed and ended up with a horrific headache.
When I woke up this morning I still had the headache and felt absolutely horrible. I felt like my head would explode. I called the doctor's office as soon as they opened to see if I could take my migraine medicine without causing a conflict with the new prescriptions and to ask if I should stop taking the new stuff or if the side affects would fade. The nurse said that the doctor would be in the office in about 20 minutes and would call me back. I spent all day in misery. The nurse finally called back about 4:00 so I never did end up talking directly to the doctor. She said I could take something for the migraine and if I thought the new meds were causing the headaches I could stop them. Well, one of the meds said do not stop before talking to your doctor so I had gone ahead and taken half of it at noon since I had no idea when they would call back so I would not have to go through withdrawal side affects. So now I still have that in my system. I took an Excedrine Migraine and laid down. When I woke up my head felt much better but I am still feeling very jittery and somewhat foggy. So now my dilemma is to decide whether to continue all of the meds, some of the meds or just give up on all of it! One is for the weight loss, one is for my bladder and the third is a new birth control prescription to regulate my TOM while on vacation. What to do, what to do!!!!!

D&D, I hope your puppy gets to feeling better. Wgrn, Glad you made it home and I hope you are progressing nicely. LITC, so sorry you had to leave Walter and head back to work. BKMETV, glad some of your bunch is feeling better. I hope you are able to avoid all those germs! Kitty, I order from Schwan's every few months. They do have great ice cream and a few things my family likes that I can't get anywhere else.
Howdy to everyone else and thanks for listening to me whine.

Yeah! Wendy is home! Did DS ever get his assignment done?

M&N...you take care of yourself! And congrats on a good day with the little ones....

Oh D&D...hope puppy is feeling better. And that you don't get any more surpises!

I don't have a webcam and dont' know how to use Skype...someone would have to teach me...I wonder if we could get a group discount somewhere? It would be so crazy with all of us talking at the same time...

Marie...you need to take care of yourself! Sometimes those meds work by speeding up your body's workings, and a side effect of that can be constriction of your veins, causing headaches. Glad that you feel better and maybe you need to go over your meds with your doctor so you don't feel yucky again.

Good to hear of someone using Schwans and liking it. I figure just the frozen pizza and ice cream alone will make BF love me forever!

I just checked in online! It doesn't look like my flight is full, I can only hope it stays that way. Right now, I have a window seat in the back and no one next to me. I like to sit in the back of the plane since kids are usually up in the front. I'm excited and nervous and all crazy like.

Evening. Friday is our last night in this house. I can't believe it's time to actually move already. My husband keeps worrying that we have so much to do but we really don't. He just likes to panic I think. :rotfl:

Magikitty, if I don't see you before you leave, I hope you have a great and safe trip.

whgrn, glad your surgery went well and you are home already. Sorry about the problem with you BFF. I'm sure you both will work things out.

LITC, sorry you had to go back to work already. I had to go back to work 4 weeks after I had my first daughter. My husband had gotten laid off right before she was born and one of us had to go to work. It wasn't ideal and truthfully it sucked but we got through it. I know you will too.

marie, I second being careful with those meds. As for the driver's license situation, couldn't he just get a state photo id? The first time I flew, I didn't have a driver's license or id card. I went to apply for one here, paid or priority service or something and got it back really quickly. Less than 2 weeks, I think.

D&DDisney, what is Skype?

I know PA has photo id's that are not drivers licenses. I don't know if they are only for sr citizens or not. Mom has one. It costs but not as much as a drivers license.

My body thinks it's almost 11...not used to standard time I guess...plus I've gotten up at 6 or 6:30 the last several days.

I did good getting my Wii set up. I have no idea about web cams. It probably would not work on dial up anyway.

Speaking of Wii---does anyone know about the plug ins on the back of tv's? I had to unplug my DVD player to use the Wii. I have a new tv and would think this would not be necessary. I guess I'll have to ask at Best Buys.

I think frost is creeping closer...tons of leaves fell over the weekend.

M&N...how many outlets you have in the back of your tv? You should have two sets of red and yellow outlets. If you only have one, you may be able to plug your Wii into the back of your DVD player if you have extra red/yellow inputs.

Otherwise, you can go to any electronics department and get a splitter....it'll have one red/yellow combo on one end, and four outlets on the other side. Its essentially an extension cord for AV.

I have my Wii plugged into the back of my DirecTv box. I just have to change the mode on my Tv to use it. But my Tv is several years old.

By the way, congrats on the Wii!

JOCA...I can't believe you're moving already! Take lots of pics of your last day at your old place and your first day at your new one!

Thanks Kitty---I'll look on the DVD box. I just think the stupid tv directions would show you better how to hook up the different stuff. They know people have games to hook up. There are other colored outlets on the tv but I forget what they said they were for??? It's not hard to swivel the tv to do it but I figured there has to be a better way.

The sun's out on all my fallen leaves. Hoping for a windy day!!! Actually I pay someone to do the yard but with all the rain, he's got to do his first. I was supposed to get mulched too.

I just looked out the window and saw a cardinal trying to get seed out of my feeder. It has been habnging there since spring and is only down to the first holes. Then I got up to see what birds were on the ground and saw a blue jay! I cannot believe it. I never see anything out there. Maybe the leaves off has helped me see better! I must fill it up again. I had given up.

God morning!

Usually the AV outlets are red and yellow...if you have any other colors going on back there, I'm no help to you M&N!

We have a few stray leaves holding on, but for the most part, its my lawn that has the leaves. We have a steady population of birds in my yard...they're actually a motley crew of whatever...there's a lone mourning dove, some random pigeons, and starlings. I have a very loud Bluejay that is my enemy...he starts cackling at 6 in the morning and will not let up! I also have a few younger male cardinals that are so cute. I feed them year round in feeders all over, but actually they prefer picking up the seed off the driveway.

Oh goodness, I'm leaving tomorrow! I'm not ready!

whgrn Nice to see you home. I think recovery goes better when your in familiar surroundings. :goodvibes
JOCAmom Only four weeks before you went back to work? That does suck. Hope the move goes smoothly.
MagiKitty Have a good trip.
mariezp Hope today goes better for you. :flower3:

If I get the extra computer set up in the living room I may be able to chat more in the evenings. I'm sure my DD has an extra web cam. I'm just not sure I want people to see me.

Shush DL! Of course we'd love to see you...and of course, wouldn't you want to participate in what I'm sure would be a hilarious get together with all of us?

maybe we should set some ground rules...everyone in jammies and looking au natural!

Gotta catch up, but Kitty---hope you have a wonderful trip and stay safe. Oh no, we forgot to think of a new name before you leave!!!!!!! :scared1:
Anyone, anyone???

TKer 6 pack.....:lmao:

Just checking to see if Kitty is packed! I'm sure she is. :rolleyes1 Or at least tryiny to decide...I hope you have a great visit and fun giving out your bargain finds.

I don't see that Wendy checked in today. I guess she's playing with the rack!

DL55---why wouldn't we want to see you? We don't make judgements here... about our fellow TKers anyway. :rotfl:

Hey Marie---hope you're feeling better.

JO---hope the weather hold out for your move. I'm sure it is hard to do things with things half in one place and half in the other. You'll have it together soon.

EV---don't forget you are rooting for the Phillies! It's their last chance tonight. I'm not holding my breath...

Pikester---hope you and Sukie haven't frozen yet up north. We did not get frost yet here.

Reminder to all: I need a pm with your address if you want to be on the Christmas card list. You don't need to send one, just receive one!

While I have a second.
Here is Walters first self inflicted boo-boo

And here he is holding his own ba-ba!

What happened to Walter? He scratched himself, didn't he? Baby fingernails scare me!

Oh ladies...I am in so much trouble right now. I wanted to set my flying clothes out tonight, so I went to the closet to try to put together the perfect outfit. It went crazy from there... I decided while I was in there I should put away my summer clothes. There's no chance of using them until next year.

Help I'm being held captive by my closet! Its wrecking its revenge on me! I have piles of clothes everywhere...and no bed. Its in there somewhere, I remember it.

And now I'm lazy. I don't want to clean up. I seriously am contemplating sleeping on the couch tonight. But I can't possibly leave that mess there for a month!

Or can I?

Magikitty, leave the clothes where they are and let the closet think that it's won for now. And when you come back, kick its butt and organize everything. That will teach it to mess with you. :lmao:

M&N, you all don't mind if I get in on this Christmas card exchange? It sounds so wonderful.

LITC, I remember when my kids had those scratches. I used to try to put those mittens on them to stop it but that just made them mad. And I always hated trimming their nails. I was always afraid I would cut them too close so I made my husband do it.

DL55, I hated having to go back to work that soon and it was tough. But it's what we had to do at the time. Thankfully it was only for a few weeks until my husband found another job and I was able to switch to part time at night after he got home.

MagiKitty The war of the closet has begun. :rotfl2: Good Luck.
JOCAmom Glad to hear you didn't have to be away too long. :goodvibes
LITC Poor little Walter.:flower3: At least the scratches go away. I doubt any baby gets through the first few months without self induced scratches.

Afternoon ladies! Well, I'm as prepared to go as I can be...I have my passport, my printed tickets, some money, and underwear. And a book. It doesn't get much better than that!

My closet and I have forged a fragile peace. I tired to appease it as much as possible, moved out the summer clothing and moved the sweaters and jeans to the front. Its not the best job, but its under control (somewhat) and we won't be bothering each other for a while...

I know I'll manage to find internet somewhere in my travels these next few weeks, but I'm having a difficult time accepting that I'll be without you guys for a while. Keep the torch lit for me! I look forward to hearing about how everyone is coping with the swine flu, how everyone's health is improving, and Thanksgiving and Black Friday!

Big hugs and much love to all of you and I'll be back!

I am so happy! I finally got my Hi-speed internet back!:woohoo:It's been out since Sunday and we've been using Dial-up. How did I ever live with that before we got Hi-speed? It was horrid!

LITC: Poor Walter. :sad1: It's sad when they dig themselves.

M&N: Did my Mom PM you yet with her address? She's been dealing with an injured ankle and hadn't been able to hobble to the computer to send you a PM. She asked me to do it but I was having the issue with my computer and wasn't able too. Now that I'm back I can PM if you haven't received the address yet.

whgrn: I was glad to hear that you are back at home. How is the BFF situation?

Magikitty: Have a good trip! Take lots of pics to share with us.

JOCAmom: How's the moving going? This weekend is it right?

marie: Hugs to you! How are you feeling?

D&DD: How is you "Baby"?

BKMETV: How is your DD? Is she feeling better? How about the rest of the family?

I guess that's it for all the question asking.

Only 22 days till we start our drive to Disney! :cool1: This month is so packed with appts and activities for the whole family that the 22 days are going to go by fast. I really need to sit down and make my "Things to take to WDW" list. Maybe I'll do that tonight.

Child abuse...hand him over! :rotfl: Scratches??? Making himself hold his own bottle???? What is this world coming to? :confused3 ;) I bet he surprised himself when he did it. You will have to show him that when he gets his first scraped knee or elbow. He is just so precious. How can you bear to put him down?

Help I'm being held captive by my closet! Its wrecking its revenge on me! I have piles of clothes everywhere...and no bed. Its in there somewhere, I remember it.

And now I'm lazy. I don't want to clean up. I seriously am contemplating sleeping on the couch tonight. But I can't possibly leave that mess there for a month!

Or can I?

My vote is yes you can! Who cares? No one will be there to see it. But I see you did get a compromise worked out. Glad about that.

JO---you are on the list! Thanks for joining in on the fun.

Sukie's on too...It was her idea after all! I didn't know she was hobbling. Hope she's on the mend...Tell her HI!

We should have names thought up for our new thread. We do need to keep in mind the kind of people we would attract with TKer six pack! (I really think that's clever but it just sounded like something my mom would say.) Keep the ideas coming. I don't think we will do 50 pages while Kitty is gone....unless someone gets very chatty and I will be gone 2 weeks so I won't be talking to myself much and running up the post count.
