TKers Take the Fifth!

Hello. How was everyone's day today? It looks like it was a slow day around here so everyone must have had a productive day.

mariezp, there doesn't seem to be much planning to do with the actual cruise. But there are excursions to think about for when the boat docks. And since we have never been on a cruise before, there is a lot of reading to do about how things work. I was pretty tickled to read that room service is included in your cruise price.

D&DDisney, my oldest daughter had just started kindergarten when 9/11 happened. And my middle daughter was only 3 months old. I remember turning on the sitting down, turning on the tv and just staring in shock. I remember the first person I called was my dad. 29 years old and my first thought was to call my Daddy. Spent the rest of my day alternating calls between my dad and my husband. I debated about sending my daughter to school that day. All I wanted to do was keep her close. I took her to school holding her hand just a little tighter than usual. I knew at that moment, my kids's lives would never be as carefree as mine was once was.

Good evening.

Not much going on around here today. Nothing but rain, rain, rain. That put a big damper on our High School's Homecoming festivities. We didn't even go to the football game. We did attend the parade that was held. 9th-12th built floats and the police/fire department had vehicles with flashing lights and sirens going. There was also a float built by the senior parents that had baby pictures of thier kids blown up to poster size on it; too cute! About 1:30pm I went to my Mom's(Sukie) to hang out and visit. We haven't done that since my Beana passed. It was nice just to drink tea and talk. I commented to her that it still doesn't feel like Beana is gone. I can't figure out if it's because I was there when she passed or if it's because she didn't want any fuss made after she was gone. Typically you would have a viewing one night and then the service and buriel the next day with a gathering following that. We just had a gathering at the cemetary where her ashes were buried and then everyone went their seperate ways. It feels incomplete. It feels like the goodbye wasn't big enough or didn't make enough of a ripple in the world for me to move on mentally.

DS11 and I watched the movie "Taken" tonight. It was just OK. It reminded me a little of the "Bourne" movies but no where near as good. It was about an 1hour and 20 minutes long and it felt disjointed. Like stuff didn't go together.

Magikitty: I can't believe you'll be leaving in 2 weeks! :banana:You are one nice lady:hug:. Wanting to help someone get to Sea World is awesome and not something that anyone else would do, not even me. I'm to paranoid.

marie: DH said that if we decide that we need the PH that we will just buy them while we are there. I want them now so I can make plans to meet you dag nabbit! Oh well, maybe we can exchange contact info and while we are there if my schedule changes I can call you to see where you are and then make plans to meet. We'll figure it out as we get closer.

Hello to all my fine Tker friends! I hope you all are enjoying your weekend thus far.

Hi all. I just spent about 2 hours getting most of my pictures from our cruise on photobucket. Trying to post a picture that really took us by surprise. I hope this works. We decided to stay on board and sit back and relax. While on the way to the pool we stopped by the kids "hot tub". It was so relaxing, however while we were there, these "bugs" were flying all around. finally we looked a little closer and this is what we saw.

My DH went up one deck to get a view from the top. OMG!

Helloooooooooooooooooooooo anybody out there? What time is it any way? Maybe I am in the "Twlight Zone". :rotfl2:

Hi Sukie. I'm here just cruising around the disboards. We are taking a cruise next year. How did you like yours? We are doing a Disney cruise but I can imagine that the basics are the same. Are there any tips you can give me?

JOCAmom. I think I packed way to many clothes. Not sure if Disney has formal nights or not. We liked it a lot and would do another one. I really wanted to do your cruise. Are you going for a week or 3 or 4 day one?

We are doing a 4 night Disney cruise. It stops in Castaway Cay and Nassau. I have 4 kids, 2 of them fairly young yet, so I just figured Disney was the way to go for our first cruise.

I have a habit of overpacking so I'll have to keep in mind that we don't need to pack so much.

Where did you go on your cruise?

Chippy on the fence in my back yard.

I figured if my Mom could post pics then I could too!

I am so excited! I figured out how to post pictures! :woohoo:

It was so cold that day at AK! Here are Chip(black nose), Dale, Sukie(left), Pikester(right) and DS8.

I made it through the b-day party yesterday!:banana: Now don't have to worry about get togethers until Christmas. :yay::yay: And I only had one glass of wine.

Pikester & Sukie - Yay on posting pics.
When were you at WDW in 2008? Christmas time? We were there in mid Dec. and the weather was actually hot.

That yardsign thread is hilarious. :rotfl2: What a horrible way to announce the birth of your baby. :crazy2:

Still can't seem to find good airfare for Dec. :sad2: Southwest has some good flight times but I am worried we won't get to sit w/ the kids when they do the "cattle call" for boarding.
However...on second thought, maybe mom sitting by herself while some stranger sits listening to my kids the entire flight, might not be such a bad thing. :scratchin :rotfl:

We were there from December 7th-14th. The day we went to AK was the coldest morning we had while we were there.

Pikester Love the pictures. Glad you can entertain the TKers for a while.

I heard Disney is going to Alaska. I think people are going to have sticker shock. Disney cruises are already expensive. Alaska cruises are more expensive than Caribbean cruises plus most people have to fly.

That lawn sign... , funny but..

My pictures have been delayed. DH decided to review and edit them.
Plus I finally couldn't take my dryer anymore and bought a new washer and dryer. Then I thought :scratchin that since we have to move the old ones that this would be a good opportunity to paint the laundry room. Luckily this is the second smallest room in the house (2nd bathroom is smaller). Since it hasn't been painted in 11 years I think I'll have some extra prep work to do.

Good evening ladies....

Pikester! Congrats to you and Sukie on learning how to post pics successfully! You look so much like your mom...and so nice to see the kids!

DL55...sounds like your project is just getting bigger and bigger! But I agree with you...if you're going to get in there and do something, may as well do it all! Good luck to you!

Had a weird day. My phone's screen has been acting up and according to tech support, I needed to upgrade my software. So I take it to the store this evening to do it. They upgrade it, and its no help. I need to get a new phone, which fortunately is free coz its still under warranty. The problem? My Hello Kitty skin! Its all sorts of stickers...so I had to take them all off without ripping/stretching it. But I did it! But I lost all my texts and my ringtones, so I'm starting over.

I went to Old Navy and bought BF and I matching tee shirts for MNSSHP! Its my first non-Catholic-saint costume!

I did really well at Victoria's secret...although I do have some guilt. They're having their bra/panty sale. Bras are $12.99...I had a coupon of a free panty and $10 off a bra (normal price). The girl (snarky-queen) took the money off! So I paid $8 for a bra, panty, travel kit and soap. Hee hee.

I have an Its a Small World ringtone! I made BF call me just so I can hear it.

Morning all:

Just a quick fly by to say Hi...thanks for the pics Pike, reminded my of my trip...I have some of the same shots.

Hope everyone has a great day.

TTYL
