Race-I'm sure it will be overwhelming at least at first, but I think I am ready for the challenge.

Congrats on the few pounds M&N, great work--did you send those my way??

Well guess I am off to bed, I am really tired (surprise, surprise!)

I didn't think I could handle being a mom either until it happened. And you really do learn what the different cries are.

That amaretto cheesecake yogurt sounds so good. Who makes that? I may have to pick some up.

I had not seen it before. I went to Giant today.

Congrats on the few pounds M&N, great work--did you send those my way??

Well guess I am off to bed, I am really tired (surprise, surprise!)

I would never do that...I seem to get them back myself!

I'm trying to figure out what to do for vacation next year. DH keeps talking about how much he like Virginia Beach when we were there. So maybe a Williamsburg/Beach vacation. But then I'd really like to take a cruise. Mmmm, decisions, decisions.

Good Morning! Good Morning!....I'm actually singing it...went to Singing In the Rain at a local dinner theater last week and I just think that song is so cute...don't remember all the words though.

Racer: I'm figuring you will be in FL next year? We could have a TKer meet at Busch Gardens next year. Close for Pepper...not too bad for us mid-Atlantic TKers. I am the kind of person who likes to have plans---something to look forward to. Even if it doesn't turn out...

GOOD MORNING Lyrics

Kathy:
Good mornin',
Cosmo:
Good mornin'!
Don:
We've talked the whole night through,
Kathy:
Good mornin'
Kathy, Don & Cosmo:
Good mornin' to you.

Good mornin', good mornin'!
It's great to stay up late,
Good mornin', good mornin' to you.
Cosmo:
When the band began to play
The sun was shinin' bright.
Don:
Now the milkman's on his way,
It's too late to say goodnight.
Kathy, Don & Cosmo:
So, good mornin', good mornin'!
Sunbeams will soon smile through,
Good mornin', good mornin', to you,
Kathy:
And you, and you, and you!
Good morning,
Good morning,
We've gabbed the whole night through.
Good morning, good morning to you.
Don & Cosmo:
Nothin' could be grander than to be in Louisiana
Kathy, Don & Cosmo:
In the morning,
In the morning,
It's great to stay up late!
Good mornin',
Good mornin' to you.
Don & Cosmo:
It might be just a zippy
If you was in Mississipi!
Kathy:
When we left the movie show
The future wasn't bright
But tame is gone
The show goes on
And I don't wanna say good night

Don & Cosmo:
So say, Good Mornin'!
Kathy:
Good Mornin'!
Kathy, Don & Cosmo:
Rainbow is shining through
Kathy:
Good Mornin'!
Don & Cosmo:
Good Mornin'!
Kathy:
Bon Jour!
Don & Cosmo:
Bon Jour!
Kathy:
Buenos Dias!
Don & Cosmo:
Buenos Dias!
Kathy:
Buon Giorno!
Don & Cosmo:
Buon Giorno!
Kathy:
Guten Morgen!
Don & Cosmo:
Guten Morgen!
Kathy, Don & Cosmo:
Good morning to you.

Waka laka laka wa
Waka laka laka wa...
Ole, toro, Bravo!

Pikester, you've got WAY too much time on your hands...:lmao:

Pikester, you've got WAY too much time on your hands...:lmao:

I agree! Song sounds way too chipper for me this am. Another 100 degree day today. The AC is already on. I keep thinking what the electric gill is going to be. :faint: Next year my DH can't use work as an excuse to not go to a TK meet.

Ooh! I can just get my Good Morning in under the gun! I've only read the last few posts...I'm pages behind! But hope everyone is doing well and happy and enjoying some summer goodies.

Well, I took my nephew house hunting yesterday, and I am so tired! Boys are just too much for me, no matter their age. So my nephew is looking to move off campus with two other boys. One is Albany, and couldn't make it down, the other is a 29 year old Korean national taking classes in the States and living in Binghamton for the summer. So, the Korean was in Albany last weekend for the holiday, and was last spoken to Sunday. He then determined that his phone was broken (apparently during too much partying). But it was established via email that my nephew would see him yesterday, and we would all go see the prospective house together.

Scenario: its starting to rain, I have to pee, and my nephew is banging on the door of the Korean's present house, not in the best of neighborhoods, I may add. We wait for an hour, thinking perhaps the Korean is showering. Finally, we give up, its time to meet the person showing the house.

We find the house, and in my opinion it is far better than anything I could have imagined available at this late stage. I think they should take it.

Nephew and I go to lunch. As we're leaving, we pass a bus stop and nephew spies the present roommate of the Korean. So we stop and find out that Korean has not been seen seen since before the weekend, and that the roommate is upset because Korean left food out and it has spoiled, is stinky, and attracting flies. No one knows where Korean is.

I've determined that the Korean is probably in jail somewhere between Albany and Binghamton. Since his phone is broken, no one can get a hold of him and he doesn't remember anyone's phone number to call to bust him out. I spoke to my nephew this morning, and still no sign of the Korean.

I told my nephew I don't think moving off campus is the best of ideas.

Oh, I spoke to the person showing the house. The first house was not condemned...my nephew and his buddies were zoned out of the neighborhood. They actually passed a zoning law that 3 or more unrelated individuals under the age of 25 something to do with being students could not rent a house in the particular area of town. In dealing with the absurdity of yesterday, I don't blame them at all.

Good morning all. Stupid e-mail! I have not gotten any notifications so I've got some catching up to read.

M&N, I would have loved to been with you when you were driving around looking at Amish furniture. Oh well, DH wouldn't appreciate it too much cause I already have the house packed pretty full of antiques. Still it would have been fun to look.
There's a white chocolate raspberry yogurt you should try. It was really good! I am glad someone is able to lose a few pounds. Not only am I stuck but the minute I try to make a change I get sabotaged! DH brought home fresh squash yesterday so for supper we ate fried squash until we almost exploded!
I don't think everyone is necessarily cut out to be a parent. I am in awe of some parents who have lots of children but I myself am maxed out with two.

Racetrack, I am glad I keep you entertained with my posts. Well, I never actually thought of them as entertaining but glad you don't mind my ramblings just the same.
I'd let you have Sonny or Jason. (like those bad boys, huh?) Just let me have Jax. I used to watch soaps all morning long but have whittled down to only GH... well, unless you count flipping channels during commercials... I watch a bit of Guiding Light. Not for long. They are canceling it in Sept. after having been on the air since 1952. I guess some day all that will be available to watch during the day will be news, talk shows or reality tv.
Can't wait to see your new hair-do! I like M&N's idea of naming you as our new protector.

D&DDisney, yep, I am on Facebook but still pretty new at it. I have just been looking around and hadn't actually informed much of anybody. But no I definitely would not ignore you! How would I find you? Are you D&DDisney there too?

whgrn, I would have been shocked as well. I always have to wonder not only what is the matter with the girls but even more so what in the hell is the matter with the parents! I am trying to start now teaching my DD about what it means to dress at least somewhat modestly. Since we homeschool, one advantage is that she does not have so much peer pressure so hopefully I will be able to get the point across. We just had a talk about it last week.

Speaking of my "little angel"... she had a little slip up with her tongue last night. She is a strong willed, hardheaded and stubborn child who gets away with a lot of stuff since she's the baby but generally shows some restrain even during a tantrum. DS and I were playing around last night. DH was working on his computer in his office and she was playing contently on the living room floor. She has this fixation of going after the dog or cat EVERY time they move. She is not being mean but the pets, especially the cat, get very tired of her constantly trying to hold onto them. Anyway, the dog moved and she pops up to head after the dog. I told her to sit back down and leave the dog alone. She whined and fussed and fussed and whined until I raised my voice somewhat and told her to "just stop it"... to which she responded "NO, Moma, YOU just stop it!" I was quite shocked because she never has said anything like that before and I did not take it very well. I must have had fire in my eyes because you could tell she immediately knew she was in big trouble. I immediately sent her to her room but before she could get there DH called her into his office, having obviously overheard her remark. When he was through calmly talking to her he sent her to her room to wait until I came in there. You guys may be thinking that I made too much of it BUT here's the main reason I am mentioning it. Maybe just maybe my DD is FINALLY growing out of her selfish stage of life! In the past when I would go into her room after she had gotten in trouble you could here her all the way out in the hallway mumbling about how mistreated she was and she never seemed to get that SHE was responsible for doing any wrong. This time when I came into the room she was obviously upset and crying. She apologized profusely to me. So after all this time wondering if I had been doing something wrong finally she has reached the point of realizing SHE is responsible for her actions. Something of a relief. I was dreading thinking what the teen years were gonna be like. Still dreading it some but at least I now know she does have a conscience.

LivinInTheCastle, you better catch up on that sleep now. After the baby gets here you will find out what really tired is! Hopefully, you will have more help than I did. My DH is a hands off sort of dad, especially with my DD. I think he was afraid to touch her when she was little. I was also taking care of my DM who was sick so that probably contributed to why I was so tired. Anyway, I hope you get in some good rest. I know you can't wait for your little bundle to arrive!

MagiKitty, you are one patient aunt! Good luck on the house hunting. I think maybe while he's at it, DN might want to consider shopping for a different room mate too.

Thanks Pikester...now sing me the part:
When the band began to play
The sun was shinin' bright.
Don:
Now the milkman's on his way,
It's too late to say goodnight.
I cannot remember the tune there...:rotfl:

DL55: We'll have to send Racer to your house...she's the one who likes hot weather.

Kitty: You sure get into situations! Glad you were able to give good advice...only hope it's heeded. That roomie sounds like a looser.

Marie: I have a lot to loose so it's goes off good if I don't cheat the first several weeks and then...This time, I'm going to a nutrition class for 4 nights. It's basically because I'm prediabetic but it's helping with loosing weight of course too. Glad you see some progress with your 'angel'. You know the good behavior is in there but it just doesn't always appear. I think being good is a constant battle even with adults---whether it be with our attitudes or things like eating correctly. We are not perfect!

And how about Guiding Light. I remember watching it and Search For Tomorrow. I was thinking they were only 15 min long? :confused3 Anyone else remember that? I'll have to ask Mom.

I need to get going...My class is tonight and so I'm staying at Mom's. She can go with me for free. I'm going to Hershey Sunday...probably by myself...but not next weekend! :yay:

OMG MK, I would have had a fit! and I totally agree--time for a different roommate. The Korean guy sounds like a wack job! Why the push to move off campus anyway?

Marie
, how old is DD? I am sorry to tell you that it will get worse. MUCH worse. Glad to hear that she was contrite about it though.

I am having a time with my mini laptop. The McAfee thing keeps saying I am not fully protected. But when I click on "fix", it wont do anything! Having just bailed out my regular laptop from the Geek Squad, and learning it had 36 viruses, some of which were really ugly, I dont want any lapse in protection on the little guy. I suppose I ought to call McAfee. Maybe tomorrow while I am waiting for the A/C guy to come.

I have packed all the kids' stuff for camp, the bags are closed. If I forgot anything, I will mail it to them! They leave Sunday morning. Once I clear out their stuff, it will be time to start prepacking ME for Scotland! Only 2 weeks from tomorrow--I cant wait!

Went to AAA today to get my maps and stuff. Got our route all set. Now I just have to get myself packing. :dancer:

Awww man, Wendy! Why in the heck couldn't you just let me go ahead and live in deniable just a little longer? I do know that those teen years are not gonna be easy but one can always hope, right? I have been very lucky with a DS who does almost nothing wrong so there is virtually no way it could happen twice. He has always been very easy but DD on the other hand... precious as she may be she is a totally different character! She is still also a good girl, just so much more complicated and requires so much more attention and requires a totally different approach. Is that the way all girls are? I always thought I would understand a girl better but she makes it a real challenge. She is 9, BTW.
Congrats on ridding your computer of viruses! Last time our computer guy exorcised my computer of viruses he said I held the record for the most viruses he had ever seen on a computer that was still running. I have since then drastically improved keeping my virus protection up to date.

M&N, now I am feeling guilty! Have you got a camera hidden in my house? You pegged me just right...fighting the constant battles... attitude and eating.

D&DDisney, look at you! Almost time to leave! I am so envious. No wait, I wouldn't be ready. So have you done any packing yet? I always think I will get it done way ahead of time but usually end up waiting til the last minute.
Oh, I got your PM. I gotta get off here now but first chance I am on Facebook I will send a friend request. Oh boy! A new friend!

Pikester, that is just crazy! You would think in this day and age people would be over being judgmental about the color of one's skin.

Pikester, they just had the same story on the national news! Shame on those people! You would think that in this day, with our President, people would be more mindful! I always think of Barbara Walters, who loves to quote South Pacific...."you have to be carefully, carefully taught". Those poor children.

I grew up in a small community, and I was one of four kids in my graduating high school class of the ethnic persuasion. It doesn't really occur to me that I look different from other people. Other people have to point it out to me. Its like, oh yeah, I'm not white. Most of the time, its ignorance. People are surprised I speak English at all, let alone without an accent (especially those who think I'm Hispanic).

Marie...I wish I could tell you that its going to be easier with a little girl. But kids today are so aware, so smart that its crazy out there. You have an incredible opportunity to influence a smart, amazing young woman. There will be ups and downs, but she will always be yours.

Wendy, how do you do it? How are you so incredible? You get so much done and still have so much to do, and you'll do it all! How do you like your netbook? I'm terribly interested in one, but I have to save for it. I'm hoping for a Black Friday deal....

Woo-hoo D&D! I'm dancing too! :cool1: Haven't thought about packing yet....still trying to get everything on my list! I did look at a great book called "Weird Pennsylvania". I wish I had bought it. They have some great stuff I'd like to see....

M&N...congrats on the weight loss! You go girl! Strange question....have you seen any giant Amish people? It was in the book....giant Amish statues, some sort of road side attraction. How far is Amish country? I'd like to go over there and check it out if its not too far away....

Good evening folks. I had a chance to post so I took it.

M&N~ Singing in the Rain is my all time favorite muscial. Those soaps that were on CBS were the ones that my gram liked the best. There was a nother one too. Remember "As the World turns". I only remember when they were a half hour. I can't see me with banana colored hair. You just crack me up.:lmao:

LITC~ Post when you can. We will all be here. I am exhausted all the time and I not even pregnant. Please, please get some extra sleep for me.

DL55~ could you please send some of that 100* weather this way. I am cold all the time. I haven't even painted my toenails yet. so much for wearing sandles.

Racer~ I am so excited to go on the cruise. I might just get warmed up. DH gets so that he doesn't want to talk about it. It makes it hard to plan anything. He hates to fly. We are going to just go with the flow. Rest, Relax and Enjoy. Drinks by the pool are on me!

whgrn~ What are you doing the first night that the kids are gone?

D&DDisney~ :woohoo: Glad that you are getting all the info and the things that you need.

 Hi Magikitty, mariezp, Pikester

Chat later

:lmao::rotfl2::lmao::rotfl2::lmao::rotfl2::lmao::rotfl2: OMG MK I cant stop laughing!!! I am so NOT incredible. I certainly do NOT do it all. I just bumble along, doing the best that I can!

As far as my "netbook", I assume you mean the mini laptop. I like it. The tiny keyboard takes some getting used to, but its very lightweight, and it fits in my purse so it is perfect for traveling. I must say I am glad to have my regular laptop back for everyday use though!

Sukie
you wont believe my big plans for my first childless night. I am going to...

CLEAN DS's ROOM!!!! Yup, BFF and I are going to take everything out of his dressers, off his bookcases, out of his desk, etc. His old furniture leaves on Tuesday in preparation for the painter, who will be here Friday.

I lead SUCH an exciting life!:lmao:

Pikester that story is disgraceful. What the heck is wrong with the people at that club? What are they, special? Those poor kids!
