Well I learned a valuable lesson today. If the thermostat is not put on "cool" but the fan on it is on, it just blows air. :lmao::lmao: DH turned it on yesterday afternoon so I assumed he put it to cool. Even he kept checking it wondering why it was still so hot in here. Then about half an hour ago, I walked over to it and realized it was set at "off" for cool or heat, but "on" in the fan section. MAJOR facepalm here. So guess what? I turned it to cool and our apartment is cooling down! :lmao:

afternoon all, thought I would stop by and say hello before running out to lunch.

Still haven't heard anything about the job situation, just giving it some time. Will be SURE to report anything as soon as I hear.

Love you all and talk to you soon!!

Mere :tinker:

ah...I spoke too soon. I have been having internet issues all day, and was about to post when it acted up again. I had called Verizon earlier to test my line but they found it inconclusive and wanted to schedule a home visit. I opted to wait and called the automated number back. Its an area issue, one I hope they're working on.

I found my bank book. and it was not where I thought it would be. I blame the cats.

Mary, glad you figured out the temp issue. Isn't it funny when its so obvious, right there and you can't see it? It happens to me all the time. There's a saying in medicine "when you hear hooves, think horses, not zebras". Basically its another version of Occam's razor: the simplest answer is usually the right one.

lilmiss...hope you hear great news from that job soon!

Glad to know you will have air conditioning when summer arrives. :)

Still have my fingers crossed for you. :thumbsup2

Finally I managed to make my way back. Man, the homework really does get piled on so close to final exams. Its a nightmare.

Subbing in Kindergarten today as a aide. :upsidedow Tomorrow starts my 3 days a week sub job in a different Kindergarten classroom as there aide. The cool thing is I only work 2 days in there this week and then next week is April vacation. After that I'll be working Monday, Tuesday and Thursday until the end of the school year or until they hire someone for the position.

So I'm qouting myself because wouldn't ya know that I found out today that they filled the position and I will only be working tomorrow and Thursday. I guess it wasn't meant to be. I can't decide if I'm disappointed or relieved.

Mary: I was 2 weeks late and induced with my first kid too. Don't know what it is about my uterus that the kiddos liked but I was so ready for them to come out by then.

Mere: I'm sure you'll hear soon about the job. I've got my fingers crossed for you!

D&D and Pepper: Thank you so much for reading my trip report! I wasn't sure that I would ever write one but I had a good (sometimes frustrating) time writing and then posting the thing.

Hello to Magi, Jo and DL! :wave2:

Just a quick Hello to everyone! DH is not home tonight, so it's just me and Walter, and around 7:00 starts cranky time. Nothing major but he usually just wants dear ol' mom!

:rotfl2::rotfl2::lmao::lmao::rotfl2::lmao:

Had an interesting day at work today. Every time I wonder what on earth is wrong with the kids, something happens to make me realize that the problem is the PARENTS!!!:confused3

I had ambitions of working in pediatrics until I realized that I would have to work with the parents too....really, I understand, but they were horrible! I can only imagine what you see at work, Wendy!

Wendy have to agree with you on that one.

Pepper ~ Yup still watching Idol...almost PMed you because Kate was desperate to vote for her fav Casey and wanted to know who she could call in the U.S. to vote for her.

I need to get me one of those to blame...as it is I think it's just old age!!

Mary you have my deepest sympathies...the joys of the last trimester...can relate to the swollen feet (on the odd occasion when I could actually see them) A friend once told me I was the fattest pregnant lady she'd ever seen who didn't have twins!! Oh well...at least I didn't go past my due date either time. I decided enough was enough though when DD came out at the whopping 10lbs 3ozs.

Oh I hear you on that, Wendy! I used to work at The Disney Store for 5 years and sometimes we'd get children in there who were, um, "less than pleasant"... Then I realized why...their parents would treat me like complete dirt. Ugh.

LITC - have a good time with little Walter tonight!

Mere - How did date night at the drive in go?

MK - glad you found the bank book! Would you mind helping me with my DVD remote? Rylan hid it. Again.

My SIL had her twins today!!! 2 little girls. 5lbs 5oz and 5lbs 1oz. I so want to see pictures of them but her husband doesn't know how post pictures on facebook.

My mom said that's how she was with me...everyone thought she was having twins. Out I come a little 6 pounder... :rotfl:
As for my feet, I probably wouldn't have noticed had I not been sitting down with my legs stretched out. I'm just glad it's not summer. We lived in Florida when I had Rylan, but he's a February baby so it wasn't bad during my last trimester. It was 75 degrees when we brought him home.

oooh...babies! Congrats to the new additions to your family, JOCA. Its a wonderful day when there is a little one (or two) coming into your life!

Hmm...remote control...look in the toy box. Anywhere with wheels. I don't have much experience with little boys, so look with the trucks!

My two are Feb Babies as well...unfortunately here that means dealing with the snow. When my water broke with Kate it was 2 am so we had to drive 90mins through a snow storm to get to the hospital.

And since Ev asked on facebook, it's not my goofy SIL. :lmao: It's DH's sister. We are all excited too. Just puts a goofy little grin on my face knowing there are more babies to hold.

I think I gained around 50lbs with my first DD. She's a February baby too. Had her about a week after the big blizzard of 96. It was fun trying to get anywhere in over 2ft of snow.
