Hello!!! I've been so sick for the past day. Picked up some kind of stomach virus. Haven't had the energy to do much. And of course, DH was out of town so I was on my own with the kids.

Kerrie, I tried everything when potty training my youngest. She was so stubborn. Candy, stickers, reward charts, special time with mommy and/or daddy, picking what to have for dinner. None of it worked. Except for one thing. A TRIP TO DISNEY WORLD!!!!! Man, she was trained in a day. Forget the M&M's and pull out the big guns. :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

whgrn, sorry about your puppy. I hope the doc can help.

I don't watch football or any sport actually. Wait, I did watch the World Series since the Phillies were in it.

JOCA...sorry to hear that you've been sick. Hope you get better....that's so funny about DD's potty training. Make sure to embarrass her with that story when she gets older.

Wendy, equally sorry to hear about puppy! He's so cute!

DL55...if I flap my arms someone could get hurt! There's muscle in there somewhere....

Kitty, good job tackling the closet. I need to do DD10's, but I'm a little frightened to go in there.

JO, I hope you feel better.

If things go as planned, we're going to Disney World in April. I need to get her potty trained by then. She's seen the castle and is very interested. She LOVES Mickey and Minnie. Maybe I should try some youtube videos of Disney World to show her it is a real place. Time to order the planning dvd.

MK, thanks. It was just a really quick but wicked bug. Still a little tired but feeling much better. Good going on still working on the closet. :yay:

The 2 youngest just brought home papers from school today that they are going to be taking donations for the local homeless shelter and SPCA. One of the classes just read a book that deals with a young boy who ends up homeless. The class discussed the issue and decided they wanted to try to make a difference.

Kerrie, I order the planning dvd even if we don't have a trip planned. And youtube is a wonderful idea.

JO - Sorry you are sick. Especially stomach virus - ICK! Feel better soon!
What a nice idea for the class to take on a social issue. :thumbsup2 Good for them.

Kitty - on the closet. You go girl!!!

Speaking of UTube, my DH showed me this video this afternoon. It is hysterical. If you like the muppets and their humor, and you're a fan of Queen, you have to check this out. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tgbNymZ7vqY

Stay warm everyone!

Evening ladies. Haven't had much time lately, been trying to do something around the house. What free bit of time I have had I have actually spent working on my trip report so ya'll be sure to stop by.
I hope everyone is staying warm and healthy. 3/4 of us have got some hacking crud that doesn't seem to want to go away.
We started a new diet. Going to try sticking to low calories and see how that goes. The doctor said if we stayed at 1500 calories we were sure to lose weight. Can't tell if it is working yet but it should be cause we both go through spells of thinking we are starving. So far it hasn't really been all that bad. Don't think I will get one of those Wiis. Who needs something else that tells you how fat you are!
I agree that it really is easier to carry on a conversation over here. Still lots of fun on FB so I guess we just gotta learn to keep up with both!

Kitty---I checked my Wii Fit Plus and the bird flapping is in the section that is new. I knew I should have written it down...Bird's Eye View or something like that. It's under the one where you use your hips to hit the mushrooms to add to 10 or 15.

I've never seen a doggie wearing glasses. :rotfl: I guess they can implant something like a contact??? Poor thing. I've always thought loosing your sight would be awful.

So does the kid get 1 yellow M&M for using the potty? Not much of a reward as far as I'm concerned! :rotfl: I need more!!! So I guess we all need to save up our yellow and brown M&Ms for Baby Walter. :woohoo:

That's funny! In the meantime does momy get the M&M's? I've already changed 2 diapers today.....

Hey JO--Sorry to hear you haven't been well, I am still not over my bug. I feel like I am going to be sick forever.

Came on today with a fairly heavy heart. I got a call last night from my dad. He hadn't been feeling well for a few months now, been going to the dr and getting sent home saying nothing is wrong. Well he went back again yesterday in misery and I think left worse. He has pancreatic cancer that has already spread to his liver. I think I am partially in shock. He goes to the "cancer dr" next week who will determine if it is "worth" treating. Well going to run for now, don;t feel to much like doing anything right now, but wanted to share the news. I know my TK family will help me stay strong through this. :sad1:

Oh, forgot some good news from yesterday. Walter had his 4 month check up at the doc. He is a hearty 17.5 pounds and is 26 inches long!!!! doc said he is doing great and perfectly heathy. Yeah!! He also had his first cereal yesterday and of course we took pictures and I will post one soon.

:hug::hug: That's about all I can say now Stacie. We all know bad news happens but are never ready for it. Just try and keep happy thoughts and continue to make good memories...make each day count! We are here for you. If you need some M&Ms, eat all you want!

LITC, sending a big hug to you. I'm so sorry. Anytime you need to just get things out, come here and we'll all be ready to listen. :grouphug:

LITC, will keep you and your dad in my thoughts and prayers. Doctors can do amazing things so here is hoping the problem has been found early enough to offer a plan of treatment.
Glad to hear that Walter is growing up to be a big boy! He is even cuter every time I see a new picture. Always looks so happy.

LITC, so sorry to hear about your dad. I will say a prayer for him and your family.

Oh Stacie, I am so sorry to hear the news of your Dad's health. Please let me know if there's anything you need or something we can do for you. You and your family have always been in my prayers but I'll pray for some extra blessings during this time.

LITC So sorry to hear about your father. :grouphug: We'll be here for you. :flower3:

whgrn Poor little puppy.

We finally got the low temps...it's 29 at 2 pm. We had another inch of snow. DH thinks we've had more snow this year than the past 11 years combined. Global warming.. Snow is one of the few things that keeps DH off the golf course (he was supposed to play this am).

Ok, there's definitely something wrong with the world when my temps are not that far below that of New Mexico's! Stay warm DL55, and hope DH doesn't have golf withdrawal...

I found my netbook! I just placed my order. The only drawback (other than having to pay for it) is that its white. I'm off to find a Hello Kitty skin for it.

LITC - So sorry to hear about your Dad.

Will send lots of prayers his (and your) way.

In 2007 my Dad was having a lot of health problems they could not diagnose. Finally, as his health continued to deteriorate, he was referred to a neurologist who finally diagnosed him w/ ALS (deterioration of muscles). It was so far advanced that he only ended up living 2 months after diagnosis. It all happened so fast. Was so sure we'd have more time, or that there was some treatment or something. Ugh!!! Kept wondering how can this be happening?? Where did this come from?? Why didn't we know sooner?? And on and on....

Really wish there was something I could do or say that would make this all better for you. Just hoping that the cancer Dr. will have some encouraging news.
If you ever need to talk or just vent let me know.

LITC- I am so sorry to hear about your Dad.

Vent all you want because I can tell you right now I'd be looking to rip hos Dr a new one!
