Hello everyone! I really need to go catch up here, but I have a big favor to ask.

So we put Walters picture in a beautiful baby contest, and we need votes! I have a couple of our TKer emails and I will be emailing you the info, if you do not get an email and you would like to help us out, PLEASE send me a PM and I can email you the info. You can vote once a day after registering with our local news stations website.

Thanks TKers!!

Ev, nice to see ya here.

LITC, already voted and I'll try to remember until the contest ends. I absolutely love the picture you submitted of Walter.

Evening ladies!

LITC: Just voted and I will try to remember to do it every day.

Ev: It's about time you showed up here!

D&D: Glad to hear that work has started in your area.

Magi: I don't think I commented on your trip to meet the future inlaws but I can tell you that I was impressed when i met you. :goodvibes

Jo: Hi there!

So how was DL55 doing? It was great to meet her and her DH but I felt bad for the miscommunication that we had going on. I also how the rest of their travel was stress free.

Thanks for voting for Walter ladies, I knew I could count on his TK aunties! I hope everyone has a great 4th if I don;t catch you on here before then!

LITC, I hope you don't mind but I put Walter's link on the private TKer facebook page. I know some check there more often than here.

I hope you have a wonderful 4th too.

LITC...I'm trying to vote for Walter! I can find him under submissions, but when I click "vote" I can't find him again...any hints?

NEVERMIND! I figured it out. I had to refresh my browser. Consider my vote in!

MK, I had a problem at first finding him. When you click on the tab about vote now, there should be a search box. I searched under Captain Adorable and found him so I could vote.

The search feature wasn't working for me for some reason. Then I started over and there he was and I could vote! I was scared I'd have to go through all 10000 babies just to find him!

Been a few days ladies! I've got some catchin up to do which means ya'll might as well brace yourself for some long winded posts. :rotfl:

D&D, you are AMAZING! Congrats on the new pool! So glad you got to take a break from the chaos. So sorry that you had to cancel your Disney trip. It sucks sometimes when you have to be responsible!
cheeky-smiley-022.gif
Glad repairs are coming along so you can start getting back to some form of normalcy around your place. Did you ever end up getting a toy drive going? We can pitch in on that!

M&N, thanks for letting me know that my flat likeness had fun. Sending prayers for your relatives and your safe travels. Too bad Patrick had to be sick to help earn those Disney Dollars but good to have nonetheless! :thumbsup2

Kitty, welcome back! Glad meeting BF's family went okay. Better yet that you are now back home where you don't have to worry about that kind of stuff anymore! Much more important things to think about..... like babies..... Will keep hoping that the negotiations go well.
I bet that was disturbing having handcuffed criminals on the plane with you! My DS has a friend in his class who does escorts like that. The stories I bet he could tell!:scared1:
Since you are a seasoned traveler I have a question for you. Are there any patterns to airfare sales? Right now our airfare to California in November is running over $400 per person. I want to hold out for cheaper but I'd much rather have the tickets already in hand by now! Do they usually go down a certain time before you travel? Like 3 months out, 2 months out, etc?

Kerrie, hope you are keeping on high ground down there! We have been enjoying the cooler weather that's come along with the rain. DH's kinda ticked off though. He's ready for the grass to go ahead and burn up so he won't have to mow so often!

JO, I think a little insanity is probably the only way to get through the day sometimes. I just hope your MIL and FIL appreciate the sacrifices you will be making for them and do not create any additional and unnecessary problems.
Since you asked Kitty I will throw my 2 cents in here too about Swagbucks. I kept seeing mention of them everywhere too so I decided to jump on the bandwagon June 12. Not sure I have figured out a thing. I did download the toolbar so I get credit when I log on and do searches. Aside from that I really don't know WTH I am doing. :confused3 Oh well, for doing nothing I have earned 316 Swagbucks. Can cash in for a whole $5 when I hit 700. So, no, I am definitely not going to get rich but it's something to add to the vacation fund that doesn't take any extra time out of my day. I am sure I could earn more if I really worked at it but for now I'm satisfied doing the bare minimum.
Now if you want to go into talking about survey sites that's a whole different story! I've got several that I am a member of. Just let me know if you need more input cause there is no need for me to babble on if you are not even interested. Pinecone was a good recommendation from Kitty. :thumbsup2
Sorry to hear about you canceling your Disney trip but so glad it will be working out so that you will be able to take a postponed one. I'm going to throw in on this one too! I've never stayed onsite at WDW so I really have no idea how it compares but I can make a recommendation on the house we stayed in. It was wonderful! 15 minutes from the park in a quite gated neighborhood. Beautiful 4 bedroom house with lots of space... and 2-1/2 bathrooms! Private pool. Ping Pong table, etc... I had also considered Windor Hills but after I found this house if offered so much more for about the same amount of money. Anyway, just thought it might be something for you to consider. Here's a link. :lovestruc http://www.homeaway.com/vacation-rental/p219739
As for parking... it was $14 a day. You can snag a AAA parking pass on ebay (or I might just be able to find mine to send you) which will get you a preferred parking spot. Still have to pay the same amount but it is about like parking up close in the handicap section. We found driving to be very easy. As a matter of fact, it was nice to leave each evening and have other options for food that were cheaper than Disney food. Between the house and the parks there was just about every kind of food imaginable. We almost lived entirely off of pizza and Taco Bell for 2 weeks!
Oh yeah... and don't forget when you are ready to talk Disneyland I can offer my advice there too!

lilmiss, that was one strange bird in your video link.

Sukie, hope you enjoy your long weekend! A little late but Happy Anniversary! :cheer2:

Pikester, it's always good to know you hubby won't flush you! :lmao:

LITC, glad you and DH got to spend some alone time together. We loved Toy Story 3! I don't know what to do with myself when my kids are gone either. Strange, isn't it? Sounds like Walter is sure a good traveler! I put in my vote today for Captain Adorable!

pepperw23, glad to see you back up and at em! ;)

Ev, hope ya'll are enjoying your summer vacation! :)

DL55, hope you are having fun and staying safe wherever you are! :flower3:

Good morning ladies! I dreamed of Walter last night. I'm meeting a friend for lunch today and I'm going to meet her baby for the first time. I have babies all over!

Marie--I always recommend Yapta.com. You can plug in your flights and it'll actually suggest the best time to buy tickets based on history. I like to start watching flights as soon as I know my dates so I know what would be a good price. I"ve heard and I stick by watching for flights, but buying on Tuesday evenings. Its worked pretty well for me.

The thinking is that airlines try to move more flights over the weekend and what seats they can't sell they discount on Tuesday. On Yapta also, once you do buy, if you qualify for a price adjustment, they'll tell you. I like to buy my flights about 3 weeks out. If you know what airlines you'd like to take, sign up for their email alerts. A lot of time you can score a good price ahead of others.....

Are you flying over Thanksgiving week? If you are, then I'd suggest getting your airlines ASAP. Those fares will only go up. If not, try to fly out on Tuesday, Wednesday or Saturday, those days usually have the cheapest fares. If you fly out on Saturday instead of Friday, you can save a lot. Early flights are usually the cheapest also.

I flew out to California once and it was actually $150 cheaper to stay an extra night and fly out on a Tuesday instead of Monday (largely due to business travellers).

I ventured out to the grocery last night. I snagged the last few bottles of creamer! They were on sale for 88 cents a piece, but then there was a little coupon thingy in front of it for buy one get one free--so two for 88 cents! (did you notice there's no "cents" symbol on the keyboard?). I'm going to sneak by today after lunch to try to get a few more bottles. I'm a huge coffee drinker and you know I love a good bargain! You can actually freeze creamer, I looked it up. I"m hoping to stock up for the rest of the summer....

I put my laundry out on the line yesterday and its still sitting there this morning. I"m too lazy for all that folding and putting away. Its nearly impossible anyway because I kinda petered out on the seasonal conversion of the closet. I have the sweaters away and the shorts in, but have to put the winter shoes upstairs and bring out the sandals. I"m just too lazy.

Let's have a good day ladies! Hope you're having a wonderful holiday weekend so far!

Hey Pike, you made me tear up with your comment earlier. Both M&N and I were so impressed with how well behaved and personable your boys are. Even with the teen years coming up, they're going to be amazing young men.

OMG...Marie! I just checked out the house linky. WOW! I wanna stay there too! What a great price for a week.

The search feature wasn't working for me for some reason. Then I started over and there he was and I could vote! I was scared I'd have to go through all 10000 babies just to find him!

Everyone -- thank you so much for voting for Walter. He really is out TK baby and it would be so cool if he won. He is off to a great start! Thanks again everyone.

Kitty -- I would never expect you to go through all the babies to vote! :rotfl:

LITC: An Auntie has to do what she has to do! If it came down to that, I'd sacrifice a little bit of my sanity to vote for my favorite little man!

Awww... you are so sweet! Any maybe next year or the year after we will be voting for lil' Magikitty?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

Hey ladies:

Sorry I didn't stick around and chat yesterday...had to get all my running around done before company arrived for a swim...and I had to be ready to go out at 6 with the girls for dinner and to see Eclipse. I liked the books and all but it's too funny watching grown women swoon over Edward & Jacob.

Hey Ev!!!

DH and I are toying with the idea of coming to MI for the Aug race. Would Team Canada be able to make it to Detroit???

When's the race...I have friends that live in Saline MI which is right by the track.

Hi Ev! How are you doing? How is summer treating you?

I was in Detroit rather briefly on Tuesday. I ran from B terminal to C terminal.

Oh! I knew I forgot something! There was a handcuffed convict on my plane who was accompanied by two escorts. These weren't just regular guards either, they screamed Blackwater ops. So scary! I wondered why they were heading to Harrisburg...

Missed you by a day!! The teenager we were picking up was delayed by 90 mins so I was hanging around the north terminal...it would have been funny to have run into you!!

The Scottish Festival is on here this weekend and along with July 1st and 4th long weekend holiday folks, the town is insanely busy...I think I'll just stay put and hang at the pool. It is nice sitting here on the back deck and listening to the Bag Pipes playing at the park a couple of blocks away...drowns out the squabbling children.

Afternoon!

I remember to vote today!! :cool1:

Marie, thank you so much for adding the link to where you stayed. Of course, now I have a whole another set of places to look through. :rotfl2: This decision is turning out to be harder than actually finding a house to live in. Of course it would help it Curt would actually give me an opinion on all this. I swear the man can only say one sentence (I don't know) when we discuss the vacation. I just want to slap him.

Marie, I have to agree with your DH about the mowing the yard. That was the best part about the last drought, no lawn mowing!

LITC, I voted for your little man. I still need to go back and vote today. Hopefully, when we get back.

We're about to head out to the local fireworks show. They always do it the first Saturday of July. If I don't make it back tonight or tomorrow, have a

Happy 4th of July!!!!
