What a wonderful time. It had it's sad moments too...especially missing those who could not come and D&D's horrible time. There was a tornado about 5 miles from Hershey. A storm went through today too...saw several trees down on the way back to the hotel afterwards-about 2:30. It looked like lightning hit them.
You know Walter was there---his mom and dad were very kind and let us hold him and make a fuss over him. But let me tell you, it6 was not a hard thing to do. He is really a sweetheart. LITC has the muscles, let me tell you...that boy is a solid little thing. He just like studies you with a serious little mouth...you think he's almost going to cry but then those lips turn up and you are a gonner. He is not going to be an easy thing to tell no to!
Pikester was very surprised with the 'party' at the picnic. We started singing Happy Birthday and LITC was handing her the cake and she finally realized what it was for!
The one downer that night was worry about DL55...could not get in touch with her. He's been out camping and missed out on the final plans...didn't have our numbers and didn't know last names. She found the hotel but didn't find us. She knew we were there...saw Kitty's car---cannot miss the Hello Kitty things in it! So we found her note this afternoon and called her again. We had the wrong number. So we finally met her and her dh...ate at the park with them and rode rides. You will not believe the rides they were on. They should be the ones living nearest to HP...I will not go on some of those coasters.
So I had to say bye to all my TKer friends til the next time...I am tired!
Have a great weekend and safe travel to all...

Thanks so much for the kind words M&N, and Walter will probably be looking for you gals for awhile. He doesn't forget his buddies.
The party was so much fun to. So glad I was able to make it, even if we couldn't do Hershey.

D&D, you have been in my thoughts and prayers. I can only begin to imagine what a feeling of chaos you have been feeling the last few days! Thank heavens you had a basement to get safely into when the tornado came. I am sure the whole family will be shook up for quite a while. It's got to be a tremendous comfort to have so many people rallying together to offer help and support. You let us know if there is anything we can do to help out.

Loved the TKer picture. Ya'll are a beautiful bunch of ladies but gotta say that Walter steals the show! Kitty, I hope your dear BF is willing to be cooperative on the baby request. ;) Glad for the update. Had no doubt that everyone would be having fun. Sure wish the rest of us could have been there too. Happy birthday, Stef!

M&N, congrats on getting your flight booked. :thumbsup2 That is always an exciting part of planning. I am currently watching and hoping for the airfare prices to go down for our DL trip in November. Trying to hold out but I don't know how long I can go before I crack!

Small beans in comparison to what Deb has been going through but we had some strong winds around here too today. DH has an airplane that he keeps about 10 miles away. They had some straight line winds that blew in the doors to a bunch of hangers and damaged several airplanes. DH's just happened to be one of them. I am glad he wasn't up there when it happened. They had to call in a wrecker to move the doors, that right now are resting on top of his plane, so we won't know how much damage until morning. Pretty freaky what storms can do.

Night everyone... especially to the ladies who have been keeping the candle burning til the rest of our bunch gets back!

Thanks Marie! He does have a habit of stealing attention!!
Sorry to hear about your storm as well. Hope everything turns out ok.

Okay...I think the adrenaline has worn off. I've moved on to the next stage - anger, frustration and depression.

Kinda hits ya at night. I see all my neighbors houses borded up and they all leave for their hotels right around supper time. That is hard to watch. Then, when the lights go off and every little sound makes you jump. One drop of rain hits the house/windows and you want to run to the basement screaming. So many things are irritating us too. Kids behavior has changed and we all seem to be arguing or yelling at each other for no reason. And this is 4 days later.
We went to the Red Cross station in town to talk with someone yesterday. They were so nice. They gave the kids little stuffed bears and then talked with them about the storm. Talked to DH and I too. Gave us a bunch of papers on how to deal with trauma, etc. They gave out sandwiches, chips, cookies, water, and other toiletries. They told us to take some and I thought that we really didn't NEED to take these because our house wasn't so badly damaged and I felt maybe this should be for the others who lost so much. The RC people were so nice. They said, "Were you in the tornado?", then you were affected. Take a sandwich and come and talk. So we did and that was helpful.
This has been such a humbling experience. We have always considered ourselves very independent strong people, so when you have to come in and admit you need some help or take some charity, we felt so bad. Like we didn't know how to accept this - you know??
I've been on the brink of tears a lot. I'll be going about cleaning up and then all of the sudden I find myself crying. I'm trying hard not to scare the kids, but sometimes I just cant help it. Just feel like an emotional wreck!:sad1:

Hey Deb, so sorry to hear about how you are feeling. Although I can only imagine that it is the way you "need" to feel right now. Like Martha said on the phone, if there is anything we can send please let us know. Or if you need someone to talk to I am going to PM you my number. Truly truly if there is anything I can do please contact me whenever you can.

D&D: It's at times like this that I wish we were not long distant friends. It's so easy to say things here...wish I could show it better. remember you promised the address of the fire company for us to send donations for their help. More hugs. I know Walter sends a smile too! He has plenty of them to spread around...and LITC is such a sharing person to let us hold and play with him.

Don't worry about me if I don't turn up next week. My cousin thinks her Mom's time is near but God only knows. So I may be going to VA soon.

Safe home to Pikester: hope the kids made it alive...chocolate high good for traveling?

DL55 should be at Baseball Hall of Fame---DH is loving that! You would all be proud of those roller coaster riders! Rode ones I would never do!

Kitty is flying into bf's arms...

Hey Marie!!! Your flatness had fun!

Afternoon ladies from the Harrisburg airport! Sorry I didn't show up last night...I was super tired! I basically spoke to BF and confirmed my arrival time, checked in for the flight and that was it! I was out!

This airport is so cute. I parked in long term, which a bit away from the terminal. Then there's a "shuttle" that comes for you and takes you to the terminal. The "shuttle" is refurb school bus with doors that don't close! It was pretty funny and I was holding on for dear life so my chocolate doesn't fly out the door!

My flight will be boarding soon.

Hugs to all of you. Deb, everytime I think of you and your family my eyes just tear up. You all are so so dear to me and I just thank God that you're ok for now. It was a traumatic experience and just take the time you need to get through the day. It may help the boys to see that you feel scared too, and its ok since you're together.

M&N...I miss you already! How did Patrick do?

D&D, I can only imagine how frightening that must be! So glad and thankful that you and your family are okay! We had alot of severe weather roll through here as well this past Wednesday night. Funnel clouds sighted maybe about 15 mins away from the house. I'm a huge sucker when it comes to a storm so I was a wreck times eleventy seven! But thankfully, no one was injured and the funnel cloud didn't touch down in our area but did effect some others in other cities.
Thanks lilmiss!! Appreciate your concern.

 To you and prayers to your cousin's mom and family.
Thanks for letting us know that you may be going sooner.

Oh please don't get me wrong. All of you have been so wonderful through this. Your phone calls, emails, and posts mean so very much right now. In fact, I am finding out that's what I (we) need most right now. I was talking to DH yesterday about how blessed we were compared to so many others here. We don't need monitary help (except from the darn insurance compnay) but what we're finding we need most right now is emotional support. Someone to talk to or just people who call or write to tell us they are thinking of us or praying for us. That means so much.
THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU!
Thanks also for letting me vent here!

I will look up the address for the Fire Dept/EMS to send donations to and post it on FB. Both them and the Red Cross have been a God send here and could use the most help. I also found out they are setting up a fund for the victims at a local bank. When I have more info I can post that too.

Hey Kitty---miss you too!!! Patrick still has his suction cups...part on order of course. His surgery is costing around 250! I just keep telling him he's worth it! He's earning me Disney dollars! Have a great flight. Which chocolate won the contest last night???:rotfl:

:grouphug: I sure didn't take you wrong D&D. I just cannot imagine the feelings. Talk about roller coasters...I'm sure that's what your emotions are going through...guilt and thankfullness. Guilt that you aren't as bad as others around you but lots of thankfulness for the very same thing. You just hang in there and hug those boys of yours---whether they think they are too big or not!

Hey Kitty! Have a safe flight. Wish I was on it with you. :sad1: Let me know who you end up sitting next to. And, good luck with BF's family. They're going to LOVE you. :lovestruc

M&N - Wish I could have met Patrick. Hope he's doing well.

D&D, I'm continuing to keep you and your family in my prayers. I cannot imagine all that you're going through. It's wonderful that there are people there to help you. Someone needs to light a fire under your insurance company's bahookie. It's inexcusable to wait this long.

Kitty, enjoy your trip!

After all this talk about roller coasters, we're going to Six Flags Fiesta Texas tomorrow. Of course, I'm not allowed to ride on roller coasters right now, but it should be fun none the less.

Kerrie---Have fun at 6 Flags---drink a lot of water and watch the crazy people! I didn't have to do the coasters to have fun either.

Evening everyone.

Marie....thank goodness your DH was not there when those winds came through.

MK, you have a wonderful vacation with BF and his family. Take lots of pictures out there for me too.

M&N, keeping your cousin's mom in my prayers. You drive safe if you gotta go to VA sooner.

lilmiss.....how are you doing? Haven't seen you around here much.

LITC, one of these days, I'm gonna have to make it out your way to see Walter. Give him a hug and kiss from me.

Kerrie, we have a Six Flags about 1 1/2 hours from here....Six Flags Great Adventure. Ours is more of a thrill park though compared to a family park. I hope you have lots of fun.

D&D, what can I say to you that hasn't already been said. Did you hear that Dale Earnhardt Jr is getting a new crew chief from China?

His name is Win-Won Soon.

Why does Montoya never hit the wall?

The wall ain't got no numbers on it.

OK, ok...no more stupid NASCAR jokes. But I hope I made you smile just a little bit.

If you ever, every need anything, just call me. Anytime, it don't matter. You know I'm always up. And for anything....cry fest, ***** fest (I still have your reserved seat next to me on the ***** bench), or just plain old some shooting the bull.

Love ya, sister! :hug::hug:

Hey JO!

I've been good but scarce lately. Its been a busy week even though I didn't have to work this week. Gotta love vacation. Took Ben's darling cousin to the zoo yesterday, swam, and saw TobyMac/Chris Tomlin. Wonderful time but I'm exhausted from it all. Adventures like that take me a while to recover from. But yes, I'm still here.

On the other hand, have any of you seen this weird oddity?? Gets the vote for strangest oddity of the year.

Busy day. Saw Toy Story 3 with DH, sil watched Walter. Wasn't bad. It was nice to get out. But afterwards we both looked at each other, said what should we do now? So what did we do? Went to get Walter!!

LITC, that sounds very much like when Curt and I get a chance to go out. Before kids, we could have thought of a hundred other things to do :rolleyes1 but now we just have dinner and head home.

Hey Sukie, wanted to say thank you so much for Walter's new outfit and all the other awesome gifts you sent us. You are so talented!

Hi Jo!!

Happy Birthday to both Pike and my DH!

:rotfl2: Thanks for the laugh!!!

Happy B-day Pikester!!!!

Hello to all the rest of my good buddies here!!!! Thanks for all the love.

I am trying to set up a toy drive to help some of the kids here who lost EVERYTHING. My son was talking with his good friend who is 7 and he was telling DS8 that he lost his entire bedroom and all his toys. :sad1: That really got me to thinking. We are concerned about the needs of the adults but the little ones are really sad because their whole world is gone. My kids were very concerned that their toys would be there when the storm was over, so I know there are kids out there who are devestated!
I'll keep you posted on this one. Also, see my post on FB.

Good Morning all

Only 4 days of work this week. Friday is inventory and after that 4days off.

I hope your Monday is a good one.

:wave2: To all

Thank you ladies for the Happy Birthdays!

Didn't do much. Mom made me a cake; marble with buttercream frosting, so yummy! Had the parents, grandmother, MIL and my family here last night around 6PM for cake and ice cream. Sat around on the front porch and visited for an hour or so before everyone went home to get ready for the work day.

Got a cute card from the boys that DS12 picked out. On the front is a fish in a fishbowl saying "I wouldn't say you were old, but in fish years........

(Open the card) "....you'd have been flushed down the toilet a long time ago."

Love you too boys!

I guess that was why in DH's card it said (I would never flush you!). Didn't make sense until I read the kids card. I though maybe he was calling me his best turd or something. You never know with that one.

LITC: No fair that you didn't mention about DH's birthday while we were at the picnic. Why should I be the only one in the spotlight?

Kerrie: I hope you had a good time at Six Flags!

JO: Nice jokes. :upsidedow

D&D: So very glad that you are stopping by to keep us updated. I've been thinking about you and sending prayers your way. Just let us know about the toy drive.

M&N took so many pictures of Walter that he probably thinks he is a model. Mommy and Daddy weren't that far behind in the amount they took!

LITC and JO: You both sound like when DH and I go out. We still talk about the kids even though we're suppose to be getting away for a little while.

Well, I'm off to get the day started. Have a good one ladies!

It's another hot day here. I actually turned the AC on last night.

MIL may be released from the hospital today. The hospital has been working on breaking up the blood clot so they've given her blood thinners. They've been trying to find the right dosage for her and as a result, the blood thinner level is too high in her body right now. Even though she insists that she feels fine, they won't release her until those levels drop and things are regulated. She has been out of bed and walking the halls since Saturday....something the other hospital didn't do at all. We are optimistic at the moment.

Does anyone know when MK is suppose to be back?

D&D, glad you check in again. Once you get that toy drive set up, let us know. We'll be glad to help.

Hello, everyone else!
