Pikester, probably. Don't know if anyone else really gets a kick out of reading my babel but it's a good way for me to chronicle our vacation and hopefully someday, probably when I am old and gray, put together a scrapbook.

How have you been, Pikester?

Marie, you always have the best stories to share with us. I miss them.

DL55 and M&N are on vacation right now.

Hershey meet is in mid June.

D&D and I are on vacation in mid August.

Jenn (one our new tkers) is also on vacation in August.

Mary (one our new tkers) is having a baby next week. I think she has a vacation planned for later this year.

And Mere, another new tker, is going on vacation in December.

Apologies in advance if I messed anything up. I'm only on my second cup of coffee. :lmao:

Wow! Lots of new TKers! Cool! Looks like a busy bunch too.

Hmm, are you sure we are thinking about the same stories? Mine always seem rather dull in comparison to some of the things that go on around here! You almost brought a tear to my eye!

I've been doing well Marie. Thanks for asking.

I love looking at all the pics you've taken. Makes me feel like I'm at DL!

Aww, that's sweet! You like feeling like you are at Disneyland? Why don't you come on out in November and we could take another shot at getting together! Bet we would have better luck next time! I would put my foot down and the rest of the bunch would just have to suck it up!

Good morning ladies! So nice to see some of you again! I'm glad that you found us. I did send an email to the mods about locking the old thread. I guess they were busy last night too with all the good tv.

Still haven't watched Glee yet. Couldn't make it through th 16/pregnant reunion show. I'll have to catch up later.

Its sunny here and although its supposed to be the best day of the week, it still will only get to low 60s, but I'll take it!

I saw this interview with Raquel Welch--an amazing hottie for 69 y/o! But then she was talking about her "secrets": no sugar, no salt, no caffeine, no eating after 6pm. What a miserable life she must have! That's all the good stuff.

The only trip I have planned right now is for Hershey. JO, did you see the group rates came out?

MK, I just looked at the brochure and I think M&N can help us out better. And I haven't done a final count yet to know if we would qualify. I'll have to pull out the list later and count again.

I didn't watch the reunion show from 16 & Pregnant. But I do like going on the website and reading all their stories.

I do hope that M&N can get us better prices, but can she get that many tix? I'd hate to put her in an awkward situation...

I watched a lot of the aftershows online too. I feel so bad for these girls. And I'm livid at these boys! Poor babies. I want to watch the girl's story I missed last night. Even Dr. Drew said she had a hard life, and he's seen it all. Almost all the stories I've seen, the girls are not using protection. I can't beleive in this day and age they're taking such risks!

Just checked Fantasy Baseball....I'm up to 5th place! I'm involved in something called a waiver. I'm not sure what I did or if its a good thing.

I don't want to put her in awkward position either. It's wonderful if she can get us enough tickets but she certainly isn't obligated in the slightest.

I was off reading a thread on the resorts board. Someone was asking if Disney would negotiate on the price of renting a fridge since they are taking their young child and needs milk for their bottle. There were a couple of replies telling her to tell Disney that it is a medical necessity since the child is 18mths old or something.

IMO, I don't find that a medical necessity. All babies need milk. And this isn't even an infant. So every parent that takes a young child to Disney should get a free fridge? And people complain when the prices keep going up and up.

I never even thought about babies needing milk on a trip! If you get back late from a park, where do you get milk? (I guess if you have a little one you wouldn't be out so late...) Do you pack ahead of time? Have you done anything?

We always rent a car. We usually make a stop at Target and buy a styro cooler that we keep filled with ice. I almost always need something to drink in the middle of the night so I like to have something cold on hand. I try to ask someone the night before we leave if they'd like the styro, otherwise I leave a note on it for Mousekeeping.

Geez...its probably better that I haven't had a child yet. There's a whole set of concerns out there that I've never considered.

When we drive, we bring a big cooler and pick up what we need from the food courth/gift shop as we need it. I'm talking about milk for cereal.....water and drinks, we bring with us from home.

When we flew, we packed a collapsible cooler that we threw in one of suitcases. We just kept it in the tub while we were out of the room just in case it leaked.

Most times, we didn't stay out late at the parks while the kids were very young. But the youngest I have taken any of our kids was 3. Well past the age of bottles. Even at that age, they would sleep in the stroller when it got later in the parks. I still found it easier to head back to the resort before that happened. Moving from park to bus/car to hotel can wake them up and since they've "napped" at 8pm, they can be rearing to go once you get back to the hotel.

And we've all just figured it out along the way.

When my kids were babies and needed a bottle I just used canned formula and brought a jug of water with me to mix it. I made sure that the water was atleast room temp. If a kid is hungry they don't care how warm it is. Now a days you can get premixed formula which you basicly shake and then pour into the bottle.

If we're talking milk for toddlers then they should just suck it up and rent the fridge or do what Jo suggested. Bring a cooler or buy one on the way if they have a car. I've even heard where someone uses the ice bucket with ice as a place to set the milk in.

Parents have to do all kinds of things when they travel with kids. That's just how it is.

Hello hello fellow TK'ers!!! I start the new job tomorrow morning and I'm super excited. :woohoo: :woohoo:

Congrats again on the job! Hope you really enjoy it!

jenn...what do you mean? Is something wrong?

MK, the girl on 16 and Pregnant is from here. The one who went to meet her dad.

I felt so sorry for her!! She didn't seem like she had anyone that loved her. I mean she had that boys Mom, but even she seemed a little "tough love"

MK, love the new home!!!!! :lovestruc

jenn...what do you mean? Is something wrong?

it was at work last night/this morning... all that was left was 2 overflowing carts of infants. and they JUST brought it back at 5 till 7(when we go home), manager tells me over the walkie to get infants done, there is no way i was gonna get that down in 5 mins, EVEN if she gave me help. they are so againest overtime, so that wasnt an option... so i told her home there was, turned off my walkie and clocked out..

ooh, that's a bad situation. Are you going back tonight? Does your manager always do things like that? What's going to happen to you?

Thanks pepper! I spend so much time in the car I have to make it cute. But I think I'm the only one that enjoys all the pink-ness of it.

When I was coming out of the pharmacy earlier, I was walking to my car and there was a minivan VERY VERY close to the driver's side. A young girl was driving and her mom was yelling at her. She did almost hit my car. I kinda felt bad for her until I heard her mom saying that she shouldn't be speeding in the parking lot anyway. I totally agree. People are monsters in the parking lot.
