TKers...8 is NOT enough!

Hi again Marie! We're timeshare owners too, have been for years. My parents bought into it when we were in Orlando too, so our home is there. They bought a double unit. We actually usually either deposit our time at Interval International, or we rent it if we don't use our week at the end of May.

Depositing it with Interval costs money, but in the end it works for us. Since we got a double, we deposit it and get two weeks somewhere else. We've used it at other times of the year in Orlando and Williamsburg. We plan to use it next year in the Philippines. Our maintenance fee is 750, but if you convert that to two weeks stay, thats about 50/day. So you can totally make the timeshare work for you, especially if you're yearly vacationers.

I hope to exchange it for one of our Hershey trips one day! Or maybe Vegas? Europe?

What a quiet night around here and FB. I've been looking for someone to chat with since DH and DS13 are watching a lame movie that I have no interest in.

I'm here, Pike. Finished 8 loads of laundry, did the grocery, made some pigs-in-blankets and bacon&dates. Opening up a Ben & Jerry right now. Cousin is watching netflix, but its definitely boy humor.

I just checked my numbers. I won $2 from MegaMillions. Its a start...

Congrats on the "big" win!

I've been eating so much junk today that I actually just had to have an apple. I needed something healthy.

I bought tangerines today. Haven't touched them yet, but plan to.

I stuffed an almond into a date then wrapped it in bacon. Baked it on a rack for 12 minutes. Its almost healthy. And it tastes like candy.

:lmao::lmao: When I first saw it, I read "I won $2 MILLION from Mega Millions"!!! I was just about to scream when I read it again.

Unfortunately, Kitty, this year's trip was postponed due to DS's situation and my Dad being so close to getting a kidney. So no, I'm not packed. We're going next year instead. :(

I just set the table in the dining room, so that's all done for Saturday. Not a big job, since there are only 5 of us. Tomorrow I work in the AM, then have to go pick up the beef and a few cookies for Santa. Saturday I will bake the pie while the kids are at their father's for a couple hours. Dinner won't take long--the beef takes less than 1/2 hour, the orzo pilaf less than an hour, and green beans are quick in the microwave. The biscuits can bake while the beef "rests". Doesn't get much easier than that!

Wish I could go to bed now, but the kids are still up and I know better...

ah, sorry to hear about the cancelled trip Wendy. But God works in mysterious ways and there's a reason for everything....

I plan to recycle my winnings. Hopefully its a good one!

Still haven't heard from my sister. Have no idea if she's going to be here this weekend or not. Just like her to leave everyone else hanging!

Sounds yummy Wendy. What is orzo pilaf?

oh, it's SO easy!

melt butter and cook some finely chopped onion in it. Stir in some uncooked orzo pasta and cook it til it gets browned a bit. Add chicken broth and cook til it's soft. Voila! My kids love it and so do I. And it's something other than potatoes, which my dad has to limit because of the potassium. More interesting than plain rice.

That sounds really good. But do you think it would taste ok with a vegetable broth instead?

Sure. I would think any kind of broth would work. I'd do beef broth (since we're having beef), but I couldn't find any in low sodium. I did find the LS chicken broth, so that's what I'm using.

Thanks. Maybe I'll give it a try tomorrow or Saturday. I wasn't going to make a lot of different things this year but that sounds really quick and easy to make. I just don't want to make stuff that has a lot of prep work to be done to it.

Good morning TKers!

I see we have a Donald Duck lover in the house! Woot woot! Welcome to the TKers ilovedisney1.

Tkers - 9 lives and counting works for me!

My weren't we chatting last night...I pack it in early and everyone comes out to play!!

Congrats...anyone tell you you talk too much!! ;)

Welcome Claudia!
Thanks BKMETV

Dang! Y'all were chatty last night! Me, I went to bed!

Not really. And now DS seems to have it too. :sad2: My face feels like it's in a vice. I can't stop sneezing. I've gone through 2 boxes of tissues in under 24 hours and my nose is raw.

Well, if the shoe fits...

OMG and I'm still trying to get to 2000...

TKers--9 lives and counting! (I think that's what we decided on...)

Welcome to our newest TKer.

I just made bread pudding. For some reason it didn't really "gel". I cooked it long enough, at the right temperature. If I cook it longer, the bread on top will burn. But the milk part is still liquid. Hmmm..... Oh well, it tastes good! Guess I'll just have to try again!;)
Thanks whgrn
Should be working, but I'm not. So much to do around here and all I want to do is :surfweb:

Welcome IloveDisney1 !!!

Kids & DH will be home tomorrow so if I don't get back here I want to wish everyone a

Good afternoon everyone and very special welcome to ilovedisney1!

Have laundry going, Jacques is mopping, and I"m making my grocery war plans. Shouldn't be too bad out there, but you never know. My birthday presents finally made it to Walmart! I had ordered box sets for Toy Story and Shrek. Woo-hoo! Perfect for holiday snacking and lounging....

Got a dusting of snow last night, nothing to fret about, but its pretty.

Sorry to hear that you're not better Wendy....and you're contagious! Poor DS. Hope you both feel better and that Santa brings some health your way!

We're heading to brother's house on Christmas day after church. So we're just snacking here, although I have a showdown with a ham planned.
thank you very much MagiKitty

Hello to ilovedisney1! I'm a morning person so we'll probably won't "talk" much.

I was thinking the 9 lives of the TKers like the 9 lives of Thomasina (a favorite of mine - about a cat).

Another appliance breakdown. :headache: This time my 3 yo bagless vacuum roller brush won't roll. So I brought out my 25 yo Kirby and finished vavuuming my bedroom. :rolleyes1
Well I hope to talk to you more maybe we will run into each other.
How about this? I am back 2 days in a row! What is the world coming to? :lmao:
Had to come welcome the new Texan. ilovedisney1 what part of Texas are you from? I am near Fort Worth.

Hey Pikester! I didn't know you were a Donald fan. My son is too. His screen name on some of his forums is Dafdonspiderpoo. Can you guess what that stands for? It's an interesting combo of characters that suit his personality to a tee. Anyway, back to Donald..... I got him a couple of the Disney Donald Duck DVD collections for his birthday and Christmas. His birthday was on the 20th so he has already been enjoying the first round. I think there are 2 more DVD sets left which are supposed to have all the cartoons since Donald's beginning. Looks like he is going to have to wait awhile for the rest of them. If you don't already have them maybe you can talk Santa into bringing you a set!
I hope you and your family have a wonderful holiday too.

Aw, poor Wendy. I hope you feel better soon. Maybe your bread pudding will help make you feel better. It sounds yummy! Congratulations on paying off your mortgage! That must be a wonderful feeling!
I had to take my DS to the doctor this morning and our GS is puny too. Guess it is just that time of the year. Our wacky weather doesn't help at all! 80 degrees one day and then 30 the next! Sheeesh!

D&D, I have the same problem! So much to do and I would rather be goofing off.... so here I sit. Hope you enjoy having the family all at home.

Kitty, sounds like you have been busy. I should be too but ALAS the poor laundry still awaits! Hope you enjoy your snacks and movies. I thought we might run out of time to watch all our Christmas movies but DH is off the next couple of days so maybe we can double up and get them all in. The weather is supposed to turn crappy tomorrow so it will be prime movie watching weather!
Doggone it! You reminded me that I don't have a ticker anymore. I need to start thinking up a plan. Actually, I've not told anyone this because I think it still has not sunk in.... when we were at DL my DH agreed to go take one of those timeshare presentations. I told him we shouldn't do it but he couldn't resist the $100..... and by the time it was over we didn't end up resisting the sales pitch. We ended up becoming Worldmark owners. Still haven't decided if it is going to be a good thing or not. I do know that all the years that I have worked at perfecting my travel planning just went out the window! It is going to take me forever to learn how to just book our room!!!! Anybody around here a timeshare owner?

DL55, they don't make appliances last like they used to! Sounds like you better hang on to that Kirby... just in case! I hope Kitty is wrong and you don't have gremlins!
Right now I am trying to hold out buying a new dishwasher, washer and dryer. Takes me all day to get a load of laundry done and the inside of my dishwasher is rusting away but I just hate shelling out the money again!

Hi Ev and everyone else!!!!
Oh yeah.... I like the TKers--9 lives and counting too! It will be time for that new thread pretty quick!

I'm here, Pike. Finished 8 loads of laundry, did the grocery, made some pigs-in-blankets and bacon&dates. Opening up a Ben & Jerry right now. Cousin is watching netflix, but its definitely boy humor.

I'm here too. The Jeff Dunham Christmas special is on here.
