Evening ladies....

first off, belated Happy Happy Birthday D! Hope it was a good one!

Wendy, waiting for an update on DD's first party. And how did you do?

Absolutely frantic about cousin's arrival later tonight. Thank goodness, its supposed to be cold but not snowly. Looks good for our trip to Atlantic City on Tuesday too. The house is as clean as its going to get. Again, still looks like Santa threw up everywhere....but I guess that's a good thing. There's presents everywhere!

The party was good. Only about 10 kids or so. She had a nice time. The girl who go her gift (Vera Bradley wristlet) really liked it. DD got a cute necklace, but it broke while she was dancing.

I did ok. Went to sleep as soon as we got home, and slept til 9:15 this morning.

So, now DD wants to have a party here. I told her she can do it when the weather gets warm enough for the kids to be outside. Hopefully she'll forget all about it by then...:rotfl:

oh good luck with that one Wendy! At that age, I swear they have a collective mindest. But glad to hear that the party went well! Life is so dramatic for a young lady, its easy for the simple thing like a party to go horribly wrong! But when its good, its so so good.

Leaving for the airport in 30 minutes. I just checked the flight, and it on time but we'll see! After resting tonight, I'm taking him to the Woodstock museum. Its only open Thurs thru Sunday, and I'm sure we'll be busy next weekend...

I broke down and asked my younger nephew what the heck he wants to Christmas. Bless the boy, he wants Just Dance 2, which is on sale this week at Target. The end is near! I'm almost done!

Also broke down and opened a tin of holiday cookies. It was just too tempting.

If anyone hears a big "whack" tonight, don't be alarmed it's just me slapping DH for having the typical "man hearing" :headache:

It starts a puberty LITC. DS13 has "man hearing".

So how is Walter? I figure a change to a cuter subject would help.

good morning ladies! Made it out to the airport and back again, no problem. Plus, I managed to run into Target and get my last gift! Woo-hoo! Happy dance!

So I broke the law last night. Since the bomb threats last summer, security at my little airport is insane. They want you to park and pay for parking (no free 30 minutes here!) and no cell phone lot. So, basically, if you're waiting for someone, you pay, or you drive round and round the airport. No me! I snuck into the rental car lot and parked in an empty TSA space. It was perfect, since I had a full view of the plane-let arrival, bearing my cousin.

He was easy to spot, being a six foot four Asian guy.

I must say, even biased, I was impressed how easily we slipped into old ways. Talking with Dad and I, it would be difficult to beleive that we hadn't seen each other in 10 years. I have a good feeling about this.

Have a breakfast appointment with a visiting girlfriend and her baby. Cousin is still on West Coast time anyway. Later today, we'll go to the museum and maybe hit the slots before dinner.

Sorry to hear about the men and their atrocious hearing. I swear, it must be in the evolution. Somehow, they can follow all the chatter during a game, but if you just ask them a simple question----blank look here---and that "are you talking to me?" look. Then the "oh yea, you ARE talking to me, but I have no idea" followed by the "just act normal and maybe she'll forget" look.

Man hearing...I have a small bat for that. :rolleyes1

Hope everyone is getting their Christmas projects done (shopping, wrapping, baking). Finally put some decorations on the tree. I just put unbreakable ones on as the cat has already attacked the ones I just put up.:santa:
I picked up my DD yesterday and went shopping. Some Christmas shopping for her (she got a Christmas bonus at work) and grocery shopping for me. Now I hope to stay off the roads for the next week. We came home and baked cookies and made fudge. :santa: We took her out for dinner to celebrate going full time and getting a substantial raise.

All I can say LITC is ---Train up Walter well!!! Don't let him take after DH! I'm afraid that doesn't sound possible.

Glad you cat proofed the tree DL55.Do they like to climb it? :yay: for your daughter...full time and a raise!

I knew you would have no problems with cousin...hope the slots were good to you.

I really should get a few gift cards for mom. I can go to one of those places that has all kinds but don't know if they have Bob Evans or Cracker barrel.

My cousins in VA have had more snow than I have this year---I told them I didn't mind at all.

I really do not want a white Christmas because I have to drive out in it! I know Pat's good in snow but I get nervous of all the others out there.

I have a half day tomorrow...I think 3 classes. I hope she's got some good stories for me to read to them.

So I see you are working tomorrow. DH told me that the check I just got in the mail from subbing can go into my cruise fund. :woohoo:

M...I'm with you! The rest of the country seems to be having extreme weather, and they can keep it! Its pretty cold here, but its still clear and the rest of the week is supposed to be snow-free too.

Pike, congrats on the cruise funding!

Cousin is making me watch Talladega Nights. I can pretty much say it may as well be in Hungarian...I'm not understanding very much.

Talladega Nights just doesn't seem like a Kitty movie! Maybe you can learn something so you can talk NASCAR with us though????

I'm being nice and sitting here with him, but I'm on here....

is it really like NASCAR? I thought it was a spoof.

Yeah, this is definitely not my kind of movie. I don't even know how it got into the house!

MK, if you want to learn about Nascar, you should be watching Days Of Thunder.

We haven't had any snow here except for T-day. Maybe it will only snow on holidays here. I can deal with that.

the Tom Cruise movie? Really? I'll have to go find it.

I have watched races before...or at least I was in the room when it was being watched. I had a boyfriend once who was really into it.

It's spoofy alright...I did not like the previews I saw of it! So at least you can act half interested! You are a good cousin.

So Pikester, is DH in cahrge of the Harry Potter fund?

I guess my sub money is just glad it's there to filter through my checking account!

like your sub money is visiting your account?

I had breakfast with a friend and her baby. I felt so silly, but I started crying when I met the little guy. He was just so cute!

M&N: Harry Potter is all budgeted for and the money is just waiting to be spent. :woohoo:I have my fingers crossed that the gas prices go down though.
