TKers...8 is NOT enough!

Morning!

Halloween parade at school today. DS9 is dressing up as Indiana Jones. He's just using the stuff that DS13 used when he was Indiana Jones. Love it when it works out like that.

Hi Ev!

Hey Stef:

I'm busy organizing costumes for the Halloween party tonight. I'm a pirate (as usual), DD has dug out a cat costume from about 3 years ago...pretty snug fit but she is determined to wear it. DS is going as a Rubik's cube so I just finished painting a box black...just need to glue on the construction paper squares this afternoon.

Ev, just reading about your day made me tired! I love the idea of going as a Rubik's cube!

Pike, good for DS for going as Indy. He's a good role model...smart and adventurous!

I went to Catholic school. I dressed up as St. Lucy. But I did have those dangerous plastic costumes in both Wonder Woman and Princess Leia. The edges were so sharp! Its a wonder I didn't hurt myself in them...

So tonight there'll be trick or treaters? I'm not ready!

Do you ladies remember the store bought costumes that would come in the box with the plastic outfit and plastic mask? I can still smell them.

That's the ones I was talking about! The plastic on the cover was so loud. And it did have this horrible smell and itsy bitsy holes for your nose that you really couldn't breathe through. And the holes for th eyes! I'm surprised more kids weren't cut by the sharp plastic!

I was listening to my local radio station and in honor of Halloween they were talking about the "things" you have learned from watching horror movies. So my question to you is

What have you learned from watching horror movies?

and

What bugs you about the characters in horror movies that makes you want to smack them?

Here's mine regarding the 2nd question:

Whether it's a horror movie or even a TV show I'd like to know why whenever someone hears a noise they call out "Hello, who's there?". Then, they keep saying it over and over again as they walk toward where they think the noise came from. Way to let the killer know where you are you idiot!

I remember having a girl genie one. As I ponder it more I think I may have had a clown too. My mom usually made us costumes or we used her old dance costumes from when she was little.

I've learned that I am terrifed of just about everything. Never separate from the group. You will trip and fall when something is chasing you. Keep flashlights in every room!

I hate in movies when they're safe indoors or in the car, when they think something is after them, they go out of the house or car to check it out. Get inside, bring your phone and call for help!

Now what kind of a scarey movie would that be??? :scared1:

Tried packing our stuff into two carry ons. :headache: Looks like I will actually bring my old purse so we have enough room for our entertainment and paperwork. :rolleyes1 Also DH doesn't understand what like colored clothing means (aiming for white, beige, yellow etc) so that I only have to do one load of laundry. Already packed two laundry sheets anyway.
:thumbsup2 You can do it DL55. So excited for you!!!

Decided to watch Shrek then over to Charlie Brown at 8:30
We switched between both shows last night. Love Halloween shows!!!

Gingy's girlfriend is a FREAK!
:rotfl2: She sure is!!

I'm getting there. I'm still a long way from my goal though (like 55 pounds away). I have lost 32 pounds so far.
Way to go Pepper!!!!:worship:

Do I ever!!! I had a Cinderella and Snow White princess costumes before they became ultra- fahionable like today's fancy dresses. Those plastic costumes were hilarious.

Our TorT is scheduled for Sat. night. The boys made their own costumes this year or are wearing stuff we have from previous years. DS8 is going as a football player and DS12 is the devil. (anyone else see the irony in that? LOL)

DH is taking me out for a date night tonight. Haven't had one of those in like FOREVER!! He even arranged for Grandma and Grandpa to take the kids overnight.
If I'm dreaming, don't wake me up. :cloud9:

Hey there TKers!!!!

Got an interview over the phone with the mouse for the WDWCP in less than 7 minutes and I'm so nervous!!! Wish me luck everyone!!!

Forgot to say congrats to Pepper on her amazing weight loss so far! Amazing!

Good luck Mere!

D...sounds like a lovely evening with DH tonight....very nice!

Can you tell I don't like horror films? even the commercials FOR the horror films scare me...and that snickers commercial! Where the lady in the store is confronted by a giant who says get snickers, but turns out to be two kids? Scary commercial! Missed the punchline a few times coz I was too scared of it....

Good Luck lilmiss!

I remember those costumes! But I'm so old that the outfit was cheap nylon but the mask was hard. I was Olive Oyl. :)

Oh cruise talk. :yay: We are planning a cruise in Feb 2012, going on the Carnival Magic. It will be their newest ship.

No Halloween plans except to go to Walmart Mon for cheap candy.:rolleyes1

Can I ask a question? Why all the talk about which ship you're on? Does it make a difference? What should I know about?

(like I'm going to be booking a cruise anytime soon....)

Magi: It all depends on what you want. Big ship, little ship; sail out of warm water or cold water; East Coast or West Coast; whatever.----I saw that commercial and it freaked me out too!

D&D: That sounds AWESOME! Is this a make up for the disagreement?

DL55: You'll have to tell me about as I will be chomping at the bit to go on my cruise in June 2012.

It's important to know the name of your ship when you are in port. There can be many ships in port at the same time. (especially Carnival). You have to know which ship to get back on board! :lmao: Yes there have been cases where someone tried to board the wrong one.

Forgot to congratulate pepperw23 on her weight loss too. :thumbsup2

Don't watch scary movies since Jaws. :scared1: (Which I have finally seen most scenes..only took me 30 years of peeking a few minutes at a time )

DL...I'm a peeker too!

ah, good to know. Kinda like parking your car and forgetting where you left it. Which do you think is better? large or small boat? warm or cold? for me, East coast is definitely more convenient....

I would think a large boat would be better just so you could people watch. And avoid any annoying people. But then again, with a larger boat, there would be a larger percentage of annoying people!

I never can figure out why they don't just pack up and leave...they keep going back into the scary house...I'd be out of there. I love the really bad, bad ones. A friend was in the last Amityville horror movie...I think it's call Amityville Resurrection...anyways we love watch it...too funny.

How does one dress as a saint???

I'm thinking smaller, warm with great dining would be my choice...oh and kid free areas...nothing worse than leaving your kids at home and then having to listen to someone else's little darling having a temper tantrum.
