Good morning ladies!

Pepper! OMG! So glad to hear both of you are alright, but all of us must be more careful! And I'm sure you're still gorgeous....

D and JO...I really enjoyed watching the webcam. It looked like such a great place to vacay. Now, while I"m sure it was really busy at your house, I'm glad to hear that work is being done, especially with the cooler nights approaching.

LITC...what can I say? Walter gets his looks from both his parents! So photogenic! And I love the Kermit costume. YOu're raising that boy right!

Ok...let me tell you about my evening!

So, I was pretty tired after all my driving yesterday but a girlfriend wanted to meet up. I was on the fence about it, but surprisingly, it was BF who urged me to go. And I did. We ended up going to the casino coz there was a band playing. They were really good.

Now my casino has a promotion this month for drawings on Saturday nights. We were sitting playing when they started calling out names for the $2500 winners. They kept calling until they had a winner. They gave away two of those prizes. I was kinda bummed I didn't win it, but really what are the chances?

But then my name DID get called! For the grand prize! $5000! I ran across the casino to the claim area, screaming "I'm here! I'm here!". At least I thought she called my name. She kinda butchered it, and then I was worried that she didn't call my name.

But she did! I won! And they gave me cash right there.

My girlfriend and I ran out of there like bandits.

I got sick on the way home. Too much excitement. I had to eat about a dozen antacids, and last night I just kinda sat there in shock. I'm still in shock. But I'm really happy!

Pepperw23 Ouch! Lots of people faint at the sight of blood...usually the big guys. ;) I'm sure in your DD's case it was the stress of the day. I get faint when I get overheated too. :flower3:

LITC Kermit/Walter :cloud9:

D&DDisney Sounds like you guys had a great time. Plus having someone there to keep an eye on the contractors. :rolleyes1

MagiKitty $5000! :cool1: No wonder I have no luck..you have it all. :goodvibes

Kathy, you're super lucky! You have a good DH, a good DD, and a snow-free winter! And of course, you have us! hee hee....

In the last week, I've won nearly $6000 and gained a gambling addiction. I have to stay away until December at least. I'm just going to collect my free play and when my cousin gets here, we'll just go gambling.

Well that's true...you gals are great. :goodvibes

Start recording your gambling losses. I know for slots anything over $1200 gets reported. I'm not sure about drawings though. :rolleyes1

yeah, I had to fill out a tax form, which kinda bums me out. But I was also told that I will receive a win/loss form with it, so it may affect just how much tax I will have to pay on it. I don't know though...I've been kinda lucky.

I've decided to save 4K. I'm going to buy myself a Kindle, my Dad a flat screen tv for his bedroom, and something for my mom. BF's birthday is next month too. I told him if I make it to the Moms panel, I'm paying for his ticket to meet me in Orlando in December.

Hey MK...had to pop over from FB to find out what you were being congratulated on...WOW what great news.

Sorry I missed the webcam of the ladies. Sounds like a great time. Especially sorry I missed the cute lifeguard!!

Kermit/Walter is way to cute!!

D ~ sounds like the house work is finally getting finished...nice to have JO's DH there to give advice.

Hey Shmu...long time no chat!

Pepper ~ ouch...take care of yourself and your poor daughter!!

Hey DL & Pike

Good morning ladies! Very brisk out there, barely above freezing, but sunny. I guess it was bound to happen sometime.

Have to get to the bank and put my money away. I keep thinking about things I want to spend it on and out of sight, out of mind (not really, but I can try).

made reservations last night in Atlantic City next month. My friend from Samoa will be here for two weeks. Got a room, two nights COMP'D at the Harrahs. Has mixed reviews, but honestly for $26 after taxes, we're willing to try it! (hence the putting the money in the bank, Atlantic City next month is VERY dangerous)

Think I'll wait on the flat screen tv...sales should be picking up towards the holidays and maybe I can get a better deal. Don't think I'll be able to get a deal on the Kindle, it just came out a few weeks ago and is still a pretty hot ticket item. Still watching though. Maybe I can get a free cover or something...

Kinda toying with the idea of going to Disney for mine and Ev's birthday weekend anyway. Will find out if I'm on the Moms panel in a little over a week. If I'm not chosen (but I will be), then maybe a quickie trip may be in order. Is there still free dining in December?

I've ignored laundry long enough. May be able to put it off a few more hours and get some work done, but we'll have to see....

Let's have a good day everyone! Hugs!

Kitty! You lucky duck! I'm so excited for you. You will like Harrah's. I have stayed there and had no issues. The only downside is it is away from the boardwalk area, but you can take the free shuttle by using your Rewards card and room key.

Thanks for all the well wishes. I am feeling much better since we went to the Doctor this morning. She said that DD has low blood pressure (she took it like a billion times in different positions ha ha) She said that sometimes stress, overheating etc...can cause people with low blood pressure to pass out. I feel much better now that we know what to do.

Good morning!

TKers - I sent you a message on FB so if you get a chance, please check it out. Thanks!

Pepper - I'm glad you are recovering well and that they figured out what was going on w/ your DD

Kitty - Congrats on the BIG WIN!!!!:yay::worship: So happy for you. :woohoo: I can just picture you running across the casino floor yelling. Free dining runs through Dec. 18 and I believe it covers your b-day too.
We got a super deal on our Big screen TV right before the Super Bowl in Jan. Deals were killer at that time if you can wait.

I'm working on getting some pics posted from the weekend. Our hard drive is getting quite full of pics, thus making things run a little slow. So I am not sure I will be able to download them all unless we take some off or get an external hard drive.

We had a wonderful couple of days. The resort has 4 different parks (water and dry) to enjoy and plenty of restaurants near by so you don't have to leave at all. The kids had such a great time together.
When JO arrived I had a Cheesehead all loaded up w/ goodies and her favorite beer because you can't come to WI w/o cheese and beer.

Thursday - we arrive at the resort around 6pm. Grabbed some pizza and then headed for the dry park. They have a huge playground, castle and ball pit/fight zone. It was tough trying to get the kids out at 10pm closing.

Friday - We managed to contain the kids in our rooms until 9am park opening. (Well, with my son it was more like 8:45 before he just had to check and see if JO's kids were ready to go. We headed for the 1st water park w/ a glass roof that promises you can get sun burn inside, even in winter. This was the park w/ the web cam (which we always waved to as we passed it just in case you were all watching) It had 2 water slides, a kiddie area and wave pool. Plus tons of sun chairs, cabanas, a bar and grill for the adults. :thumbsup2
Next we headed over to another water park with a lazy river, 4 water slides, kiddie area, and a huge hurricane ride. (bar and grill too ;)) We spent the remaining time til lunch there. Ate lunch in our rooms then headed back to the dry park to relax before heading to another water park that opened at 3pm. This is where the adults decided to have a few drinks at 2pm. (Its 5 o'clock somewhere - right??:rotfl2:)
For dinner, we ate at the hotel buffet where the kids ate free w/ adult meal. Little pricey for dinner but good non the less. Quite the variety.
We then spent the remainder of the night going from park to park until closing at 10pm. Kids slept like a rock this night.

D...there are some good deals on external HDs right now. At least Staples and Office Max have them. I highly recommend them, esp if you have lots of pics. You don't want to lose them in case your computer dies. I have a a passport size, 500gb, and its more than enough. But since you take lots of pics, you may want to look into a TB.

I'd like to have a nicer tv before my cousin comes for the holidays. We have a tv in the kitchen now that all the buttons are missing! We use a chopstick (how Asian of us) to turn it on/off and volume but the DirecTv remote takes care of everything else.

Pepper, you may want to have DD's iron checked also. Lots of young women are iron deficient and that may affect her. Or you can just get her to eats lots of green leafys. It can affect her low BP, or else she may just be dehydrated. Get her a spinach salad with lots of water for lunch.

I have been secretly checking out a surprise Disney trip for Bf's and my (and Ev's) birthday. Its actually cheaper if we get the gift card. Six days at Sports with park tix for $971 plus a $200 gc which we can use for either food or MVMCP....thinking about it. With quick free dining is about the same...but we really don't eat that much unless its with free dining. We'll have to discuss which is better for us.

Asked for a quote from Small World (is that it?) and see what they have to offer. But I'll only book if I don't get to go for free on the Mom's panel!

Thanks Kitty! They took her blood, I forgot to mention.

I say go to Disney!!!!!!!!!! Winning that money is a sign that you need to go.

Pepper...its so easy to justify spending the money! As you can tell, I haven't made it to the bank to deposit it yet. But its kinda like free money, right?

And instead of beating myself up over what to get BF for birthday/holidays, I can just do this, be done with it AND go on vacation!

Its so not helping that you're encouraging me. But the idea of the dancing lights--and me dancing in the street with them--is just so tempting right now.

We did not have ajoining rooms but they were across the hall from each other.
I will look into the HDs so we can get some of our storage back. Thanks for the tip.

Saturday - We slept in today and then checked out of the hotel. We explored WI Dells and took JO & family to the NASCAR store, then the big candy store. Kids went wild there. They have every type of bulk candy, homemade fudge, and other delicious confections . After spending some time shopping, we headed to lunch. After lunch we sadly had to say good-bye to JO and family and we all headed home.

D...sounds like such a wonderful trip! Must be wonderful to vacation with another family and all the kids can go off and enjoy and the adults can too!

I'm w/ Pepper - Go on VACATION!!!!:thumbsup2

I'm mostly worried about the weather. Namely, will we be able to get to/from the airports. Its already been pretty cold, so I would think (dreadfully) that this is going to be a very bad winter.

But I'm also secretly hoping for a windfall in Atlantic City.

pepper....I was reading that Harrah's isn't by the boardwalk. We plan to go to the outlets. Is it far from there? Does the shuttle go or should we take the car?
