I'm supposed to be packing for my trip tomorrow. So far, I've prepared the sangria and a toothbrush and have been yelling at Teen Mom.

I know you've said before but when do you get back? My mind is frazzled lately.

In case I don't get back here tonight, have a wonderful trip. And drink a little sangria for me. I sure could use it lately.

Good morning! Still not packed. Panicked at 3am, could not sleep....but not enough to get out of bed and just get it done. Nursing a cup of coffee right now and still thinking about doing it. I'm frustrated with myself and also find it kind of amusing.

Thanks for the well wishes! I'm looking forward to the Maid of the Mist and re-enacting the wedding scene from the Office--only I'll have to recruit a groom. I just love those huge blue panchos.

I'm going to go hide outside today since my MIL has now decided to get up when I get up with the girls for school. Before she had been coming down around 10am and I was hoping with school starting, I would get a little free time in the morning. Looks like that won't be happening.

This is why I put off packing....I packed entirely too much. Largely, its stuff for my sister and her her new place, but nevertheless it looks like I'm going on a pilgrimage and preparing for 40 days and nights...Most importantly, the music and the sunglasses are packed! I'm getting excited now. It'll be a great day to drive and I'm hoping it'll be a smooth travel since everyone is back to school.

D&D, did you send the wind here? I tried to sit outside this afternoon to start my grocery list and all my papers blew away.

Its just that windy so you can feel it in PA too.

To fill in all my "free time" since the kids have gone back to school, I have decided to start painting. Will be starting in DS room so we are in the process of emptying the room. It's amazing what you find when you move furniture. At first he wanted it red, white and blue (presidents room) but has now settled on sports with just blue and white. Whew...for a min there I thought he was going to ask me to paint the presidential symbol on his wall.

Kitty---I certainly hope those Home Depot guys appologise to you for being so mean...like a gift card could go a long way to making you feel better!
I complained that my salad at Bob Evans had not bbq sauce on it and I got the salad free!

LITC---What can I add about that sweet little boy of yours? Too bad we aren't closer...I know how hard holding him can be on your back...he is a hunk! He did seem to like smashing the cake...I bet it was funny to have him cry over sticky fingers! Glad he enjoyed his party...and you survived!

Pikester--- You have such special ways of honoring your loved ones.

JO---I made it back. Thanks for the call. You didn't get to tell me about your itching! They said poison was bad around here this year. Now you know to wear cloves and long sleeves---or better yet, stay away from the weeds. I vote for the first costume and do your hair red!

I'm glad the kids got off to school ok for all of you. I don't have time to comment on everything...it took a while to read it all. I do not think I'm going to read back on all of fb though! I have to check on my racing picks but don't think it was too good this week.

Mom and I had a great visit with 2 of my mom's sisters. One I wish lived closer. The other is ok to visit 1 a year! I'm an only child. I do have some cousins I have never seen. Several I will probably never see again and not be upset about it. I do have several that I know would be here for me if I needed them. I have 1 cousin 45 min away but most of my relatives live at least 5 hrs away. Relatives or not, I do not feel it is right to make plans and then back out when something else comes along....or to say you will be there and then not show up. That would certainly make me feel left out too. I do tend to have an inferiority complex anyway and that would not help. My mom was impressed that JO called to make sure we were ok. I don't think a lot of people get how close we are here. I know we all appreciate it too.

Must get off and make some calls...Missed you all...

Just pulled the trailer out of the remains of the garage. DH put air in the tires then looked at them closely and decided we needed new tires. Of course if he had checked the tire pressures before our last trip we probably wouldn't need them.

When we get back I think we'll be painting our living/dining room. I like to be able to open windows when we paint. Can't do that in the heat of summer. Have the new blinds and drapes just need the paint and a scaffold.

I plan to post some pictures tomorrow. DH wants to use the CPU and I'm later than usual getting off the CPU.

The day we went to Charlotte, we were gone from 8 am to 10 pm! It was 2 hr to the Hall of Fame and then we drove over to near the Blue Ridge Parkway to Boone to eat. We stood in line for almost an hour and a half for dinner. It is a family style place. I think it's 3 hr back to Burlington.

Now that you've given the HOF such rave reviews, I wish I hadn't thrown away my maps and the hotels we wanted to stay at this year on the way home.
