Had a nice field trip yesterday. I truly wonder what people were thinking about the destination though. Well at least I can honestly say that I have now visited every Smithsonian location in DC. The National Gallery of Art would never have been one I would have entered on my own though. Thankfully, the boys I had were pretty well behaved. One of them is even pretty interested in art, and was pretty knowledgable. None of them snickered at the nudes or anything! As we were waiting on the bus, I was approached by a reporter from National Public Radio who interviewed me about how we were affected by the terrorist threats. Probably won't be aired, because it was pretty boring answer "No difference to our decision. If anything affects DC, we would probably be affected just as much in our county, because we're pretty close." Downtown DC was all set up for the World War II memorial dedication. Boy are they expecting a LOT of people! It was amazing to see the set up. Chairs all throughout the mall, viewscreens scattered about, first aid stations everywhere, cases and cases of water, etc.

Anyway, on to the journals,

Hope you have a wonderful holiday weekend filled with fun, healthy food and exercise! :sunny:

Wow, Lisa! You are doing so well. All those cheat free days; this is a wonderful lifestyle for you. Congrats on the recently lost pounds. I was just catching up on your journal and even went back to check out your first page. You are going to blast through your goal way before December! I'm glad the field trip went well. DH and I went downtown (Indy) yesterday and will not be going anywhere close to 465 with the 500 race today! Just thought I'd throw that in b/c I know you can relate. Continue to have a wonderful weekend! :sunny:

Thanks all for the encouragement. It's mostly dried out here. We get the typical spring/summer late afternoon showers, but it' sunny most of the time this week.

Yesterday I went with DD to a reward trip baseball game (locall AA ball club). It made for a long day, as we didn't get home til about 11. And this was after I recertified for CPR and first aid all day. Boy that alarm went off awfully early this morning!!!

No exercise, worked on the girl scout project. I probably walked just under two miles (from Burger king to Michaels, and then back to where we filmed the GS project), but it was pretty slow (had kids with me). I really have to fit exercise back in. Maybe when school's out things will slow down!

Wow Lisa - 136! That is great. You are doing so well. The end of the school year is ridiculously busy. I am sure the summer will give you more time for excersise. I am sure with your goal so close in your sight you will be inspired to stick to plan.
Have a great weekend.
Mary:sunny:

No exercise. I finally finished editing the girl scout project video. I must be technologically challenged, because I COULD NOT make our regular VCR tape no matter how many cables I plugged into how many plugs! I finally gave up, and just did it on our built in TV/VCR. Now we just have bridging tomorrow night, and campout this weekend, and Girl Scouts is done for the year!

Glad you found a way to conquer that GS project! I HATE trying to figure out all those wires and plugs! I leave that stuff to DH & DS! :p It's great that you're so involved with your kids and their activities. They'll always remember how you were there with them and helped them with all the projects. What great memories! Also you're teaching them by example how to be great parents themselves someday! ::yes::

Summer will bring a slower pace - a perfect time to get back to the basics of healthy eating and exercise. It will be here soon!

Have a terrific day! :sunny:

DS was sick yesterday, and I didn't have my journal to post. I think it's now run the course through the household, so we'll all be healthy for our camping trips this weekend. DH and DS are going rafting with the boy scouts, and we're going to Assateague Island with the girl scouts. Tonight I need to put together some food that is okay for me. I know we're doing eggs Saturday, but Sunday's breakfast is muffins and yogurt, so I need to think of something different for me. Not sure what all else we're having, but I'll figure something out. I'll probably take some cheese, nuts and a couple of the no-carb bars. Maybe a pouch or two of tuna.

Weigh in was yesterday, and I was down to 135. Maybe next week, I can claim that 20 pound clippie???? Pretty much anything I put on either fits, or is too loose depending on how old it is (my clothes are living proof that American sizes are getting bigger. My old size 8s are the almost the same as my new size 6s). Anyway, on to the journal

6/8
am, 2 eggs 1 slice toast (1C)
lunch: cottage cheese w/ pears (1C)
cheese
broccoli
no carb bar
snack: cashews (1C)

interviewed the final summer babysitter, then sorted things for camping.

Total - 4C, no exercise

6/9

I set up all the tents for this weekend, and made sure our ground cloths worked. I'm counting that as exercise, because by the time I rolled 3 tents out, and repacked them, I was dripping with sweat!
snack: 1/2 C ice cream (1C)
pm: cod, green beans
DD's cadette briding (Girl Scout graduation)
snack: cheese, 7 doritos (1C)

Total for the day, 4 1/2 C + exercise
