Hi I am sad to say one of the members of our party will not be able to join us … but another friend is considering coming in the trip. We had already linked and made reservations.. Can I replace his name with hers? Is that necessary?

As long as the tickets haven't been used, they can be used by anyone. The name is officially assigned once the ticket is used to scan in the person. Then, Disneyland takes the picture of the person holding the ticket

If you call Disney, or use the chat in the app, they can reassign the ticket ahead of your visit.
